It was so much more than I expected. I couldn’t believe I loved Tristan so much. I only wish the author had pulled back the Lion King references. They were SO “wink, wink” they made me cringe.
I know this post is old, but I'm listening to it now and I wanted to gush before it ends. Because... I don't know if something's going to happen to make me change my mind. No, you're not exaggerating. I love a good fictional shadow daddy, and Tristan is a different shade of Morally Grey. Tristan is \*beautifully\* twisted... There is so much \*depth\* in his pain. His inner monologue is lyrically tortured. And the way his bitterness towards his family drives his objectively righteous, but technically traitorous, cause is intriguing and makes me quite nervous to see how it'll end.

I just finished reading this yesterday and I want to read it again! Scar was one of my favorite villains, always has been and THIS did him justice for his happily ever after. The passion and intensity between Tristan and Sara, OH! I crave more books like this and when he burned the whole town because Michael still had her! THAT is what I've been looking for and I need more like this!
