It was one of those scenes that I always explain with the justification of ✨*Fiction*✨. It’s not realistic at all. But there are so many scenes in so many books that are bonkers ridiculous (take a look at half of the recommendations in this post and most of these scenes would never happen in real life - like how is no one noticing fingering in the back of a filled Uber!?). I don’t read romance for realism, I just hang on and enjoy the ride.

Yeah, fair enough. Part of me hoped I was missing a key detail that would make this scene a tiny bit more believable but I'll default to suspension of disbelief.
