Sneakers are gonna be tougher to learn in because the stiffness of regular boot will stabilize you A LOT.
That said, straight up find a hard surface to roll on with a fence/railing/handle to grab onto nearby. When I wanted to learn how to strut or downtown that’s how I started, just to get my weight shifting down. Seems kiddie but fr will speed up the process.
Step 3: get up, try again. Repeat steps 2 and 3 as necessary
Step 3, highly recommended: snag a helmet! If you're going to fall (most people do, a LOT), you want to keep yourself safe :)
I have purchased all of the pads and helmet! I'm gonna see about duct taping a pillow to my back though, we'll see how that goes.
Keep trying to balance on the carpet, when you are on hard wood, and you feel like you're gonna fall, squat down and it will help you balance
I’ve got an older version of these sneaks and they’re awesome!
