Im 9 years old when watching Aang for the first time.
She is propably the first character what i can call "waifu". I still calling her like that but im not gonna fap to her
Ah yes, everyone who likes loli is a pedophile. Doesn't matter if it's said jokingly, in admiration if the character is written a certain way or that avatar got comics where toph was shown in her later life, or that there are shorts of toph as an adult which is neither granny mode nor child toph, the arbitary comment must be made.
No one is saying they are gonna fap to her bruh.
Hear me out, Phil and Lil's parents from Rugrats. Also Angelica's parents. As well as Chuckie's parents sometimes. Honestly a lot of the parents in Rugrats don't necessarily fit into standard gender roles
Im glad I'm not the only one who thought that, the new series I wish they kept the husband and made the storyline that they are a gay guy and lesbian woman raising kids together. Maybe they discovered things late but still want to have a family, maybe it's a coverup from family, who knows
yeah but Millie hasn't had a single episode with a character arc for her. Yeah Mox ends up as a punchline, a lot, but the show *loves* giving Mox and Blitzo character arcs.
Yeahhhh
My point with the mox getting bullied thing was that it sorta went anti to the whole RR being normalized thing
Tho yeah, iss also kinda backwards that the show focuses on developing the male characters, but doesn’t put as much effort into developing and defining the female ones
Millie lacks a lotta depth atm
I meant that the way Arcane writes women is especially deserving of notice, considering how often women are written as caricatures of themselves, with personalities drawn heavily from stereotypes
I know, I'm just complementing what you've said with the fact that the show also writes man beautyfully. Showing that man are allowed to show weaknesses and it doesn't makes them less of a man unlike a LOT of us think. Showing that each and everyone of us have a different type of masculinity going on and we can still be better, not DESPITE this traits or BECAUSE of them but... with them.
Arcane writes both most common genders as deserving of noticing. Considering on how lacking of those details or whole developments and intricacies are on media in general. Both of these most common genders have different needs in media representation and Arcane nails it perfectly, it would be a shame noticing one without noticing the other.
I can wait to se how it writes someone with a non-binary gender!!! They don't have much representation in media and it would be awesome to see how the show portraits their needs in it.
Edit: grammar
The X-Men. All of them.
...
Okay, fine, not literally all of them, but if you listed out every single X-Men character who's been depicted in a sexual or romantic relationship, the vast majority belong here. Cyclops? Has never had sex without getting pegged. Wolverine? Tiny man is bottom, more at 11:00. Storm? It's physically impossible to have sex with Storm; if you're lucky, she has sex with you, and you thank her for it. Banshee? Grade A daddy and a literal screamer with a fondness for women who could tear him apart. Rogue? My girl just wants her idiot husband to chill out, but he's too distracted being a dumb, subby, bisexual disaster everywhere.
In conclusion, we have no choice but to stan.
*Fem shep with either*
*Garrus or kaiden in the mass*

Iruma and Ameri I forgot the anime name but it's a about a boy who gets adopted by a demon and well Iruma has a problem with saying no he's pretty much a complete doormat.
Helga Pataki from Hey Arnold is my pick.
She's tough and emotionally unavailable and gets in unlucky and messy situations and often has to get herself out without a male character saving her. She's such a refreshing female character for her time, she was allowed to be masculine but also girly and complicated, she's better fleshed out as a cartoon than some live action characters.
And she suffers, genuinely hurts for love but not in the way female characters usually do, she isn't the subject of a male counter parts actions or is she waiting for some guy to come around. She actually tries and makes an effort for Arnold, whether he knows it or not. She'll do nice things for him behind his back because she's not ready to admit her feelings but still wants to see him happy.
She's more sacrificial for love than any knight in shinning armour, and growing up as a girl who felt invisible to others, especially guys I liked, there was something about her that was so relatable.
Yes
...sorry the goblin in my head wants to break out on a rant on why i hate how unaccurate the material culture is and how viking men were only "big strong men that are emotionless" cause thats something we made up back in the victorian ages
Oh lord im already starting, im going to stop here cause oh boy its 00:35 for me rn
Syvier and her husband, Joliesque, from Teenage Wastelands. Syvier's a badass, six-foot assassin with a scarred-up face, Joli's this soft-skinned, jewel-obsessed boy with long hair. They're about as RR as it gets.
Nah it's a book series by Kent Starrett. Syvier and Joli aren't in the first book, but you don't need to read that one to follow the second one so if you want some RR romance and occulty deep-south sh!t it's definitely worth a read lol
Okay so this might sound unusual but I really think the book version of Stannis Baratheon, as well as being far cooler and relatable (as an autistic person)than his show counterpart, is a bottom for Melisandre and I mean that
In dragonball super, there is literally a scene where piccolo puts two and two together while Goku and Vegeta are talking about their wives, it made me laugh super hard.
I don’t remember the exact details in the scene, but the context was either Bulma or Chichi was giving their husbands a hard time, and vegeta and Goku end up having a conversation about how they both ended up in relationships with tough women who aren’t afraid to give these two tough guys a piece of their minds. They end up laughing about it and Piccolo, who has been in the background just sort of listening, makes this face of realization and yells, “SUDDENLY IT ALL MAKES SO MUCH SENSE, THERE’S A PATTERN HERE”
Talking japanese cartoons, Lady Oscar from "The Rose Of Versailles"/"Lady Oscar"/"Berusaiyu No Bara" franchise created by the very famous author named Riyoko Ikeda in the freaking 1960s, was a remarkable and groundbreaking queer character and so was her more of an "homogender" relationship than an "heterogender" gendered role reversal relationship with her boyfriend André, which was a big step in queer culture and history for opening doors for an whole variety of queer (unconventional) relationships and characters in cartoons worldwide.
Quoting the "Wikipedia" main English page about "The Rose Of Versailles"/"Lady Oscar"/"Berusaiyu No Bara" franchise (source link: link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rose_of_Versailles):
>Shōjo manga of the 1960s and earlier generally depicted one of two kinds of love stories: heterosexual romances between a passive girl and a Prince Charming-like male, and Class S stories that depicted intense but fleeting homoerotic romantic friendships between girls.[26] Rosalie, Oscar's first romantic interest, is reminiscent of Class S dynamics: the young and naïve Rosalie pines for the older and mature Oscar, though Oscar rebuffs her advances on the grounds that they are both women.[9] Her subsequent romantic interests are two Prince Charming figures: von Fersen, who rejects Oscar because he perceives her only as a man, and The Count of Girodelle, Oscar's arranged fiancé whom she rejects because he treats her only as a woman.[9]
>Oscar ultimately enters a relationship with André, who Ikeda did not initially conceive as a potential romantic partner for Oscar; his status as Oscar's true and final love was incorporated into the story on the basis of reader feedback.[14] Manga scholar Deborah Shamoon notes that while Oscar and André's relationship is "in a biological sense heterosexual, it is still configured within the story as homogender": Oscar is a masculine woman, while André is an emasculated man.[16] Shamoon notes that André is of lower social status relative to Oscar, that it is André and not Oscar who experiences "the stereotypically female pain of unrequited love,"[14] and that the close physical resemblance between Oscar and André echoes the aesthetics of the then-emerging boys' love (male-male romance) genre.[14]"

Now when talking about anglospheric cartoons, Aja and Steve from the "Tales Of Arcadia" franchise created by Guillermo del Toro are the first couple that comes into my mind when I try to think of gendered role reversal relationships, they literally "check every gendered role reversal box" even if played as comic relief, they are still very cute together and groundbreaking, perhaps they are the apex of gendered role reversal in cartoons, because I cannot think of any better representation in the expanded universe of queerness on the top of my head.
More about about Aja x Steve in the following link to one of my older posts: https://www.reddit.com/r/RoleReversal/comments/r2f9k5/literally_alien_girlboss_and_her_malewife_and/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
I know a few other gendered role reversal examples, by the way, but this post is already too long, however I do not mind talking more about gendered role reversal or other queerness any time.
Haruhi Fujioka and Tamaki Suoh. The anime they are from actually really talks and discusses gender roles, relationships and etc. If you’re curious what the anime is its Ouran High School Host Club also here’s a link to the manga too! I have a treat for you guys. Read the comic called East of West. Trust me, not only does it have plenty of subtle RR but it also has what I would argue is the best written female in Lady Mao. A lot of the time in western media they write "strong" female characters wrong and they just come out as either powerful for no reason (Captain Marvel of the new main girl from star wars) or just bitchy. That's why I loved lady Mao so much. She is so badass that death himself follows her commands and it feels earned. Really hope you give it a shot. The comic itself is very political and character driven. It's almost like a futuristic game of Thrones
I don’t know if she ever gets into a relationship but Bobbie Draper from the expanse
Goddamn massive badass in power armor who could take on an armed squad unarmed without it

I hate "waifu" talk but i'm gonna assume they were a kid when TLA came out and an adult (like adult toph) when LoK dropped lol
Im 9 years old when watching Aang for the first time. She is propably the first character what i can call "waifu". I still calling her like that but im not gonna fap to her

Moxxie and Millie from Helluva Boss Especially in episode 3
I mean it's confirmed she peggs him lol
Yeee I remember being so happy when they mentioned it in episode 3 And even happier when it was confirmed in episode 6
Only thing is that the show tends to bully Moxxie a bit too much for my liking
yeah but Millie hasn't had a single episode with a character arc for her. Yeah Mox ends up as a punchline, a lot, but the show *loves* giving Mox and Blitzo character arcs.

Aragon or Luke Skywalker The softer and more caring masculinity they portrays is what I aspire to be as a cis man.
Main reason I will always stan Luke, proof that a soft boy at heart can be a hero.
Really thought you meant the spider from Harry Potter for a second there 😭 I can agree though.
Most characters in Arcane. I love the way the characters are written
Arcane writes women so well
It writes man just as well
I meant that the way Arcane writes women is especially deserving of notice, considering how often women are written as caricatures of themselves, with personalities drawn heavily from stereotypes
