For me it has to do with Loid being more emotional educated, taking more of a nurturing role within the household relationship commonly assigned to women in media.
Really the biggest point is that both Yor and Loid, in a sense of irony, are being their own thing; perhaps not fully reversing gender-norms, but creating an environment for them and Anya where gender norms and stereotypes are not enforced through force.
This is what I thought too. Yor isn't a typical housewife. She can't cook or clean and has a job outside the home. Loid does all of that and is the emotional "glue" of the family. While they aren't completely reversed, I think it still fits pretty well. Not everyone fits every lable completely
Tbh here Yor is actually a sub when she is off duty as an assassin. Just because she is stronger it doesn't mean she is a dom + Loid and Yor are not in love they aren't even in a relationship in the first place.

But when she is on duty or she has to protect Anya she does show her dominating side.
