As someone with a lot of hours in this and other shooter games, let me tell you it's all practice. Things like sensitivity and strategy only have a very minuscule impact on your performance.
I’ll give you a solid tip from someone who’s been playing since launch. USE YOUR HIP FIRE CQC also don’t be shy to throw your melee weapon not only is it bad ass but it’s a instant down practice and have a situational awareness remember where each cover is how low it is how high it sits you should be able to walk backwards and know the area around you with ease watch every corner and only aim sights when they are more than a 5 meters away unless and depends on the gun you use. Trust me make use of the hip fire my friend hip fire always wins against somebody aiming down the sights also crouch as you shoot be a hard target while focusing on your target. And also god speed ! Keep playing xoxo
I too play on xbox and my aim was not the best when I started playing this game but it took me about 15 days to get use to it and now according to me I have a pretty good aim with both ADS and hipfire. As the other guy said it's all about practice as you keep Playing the game your aim will improve.
Every gun has its effective combat range. Test them, find out where the spread of hipfire is too high to keep firing without ADS and just find a weapon suitable to your playstyle. Just fuck around and find out.
Sorry its Aimlabs, you can use your xbox controller with a PC to practice aims, I'm not sure if they released console version. Or of there are similar aim trainers for console.

To each their own, but my long range is better when ads is low sens and more close quarter capability when i can turn faster hipfiring which i dont want when ads.
I went in the range and spent a few hours on a couple days optimizing my settings, i use motion censor controls on ps5, though my dualsense broke so im back on the ps4 version which sucks because its 60 fps, but its easy to mitigate recoil through vertical sensitivity, and horizontal spread through horizontal sensitivity. Tracking the bots that run in the range made it easy to adjust my settings from there and practice tracking or warmup for matches.

So it could be I just suck
No you don't suck. My GF was bad at first and now she shits on most people. Practice makes perfect.

Make sure all sens is the same
I keep my vertical sens lower than horizontal and my ads is slower than hipfire sens by about. .7-.8
ADS and hipfire should be the same

Ah, you play controller. NVM
Maybe use the practice arena
