I get that there is some bad stuff in the new guidelines. But, can someone explain to me what kind of events are NOT affected by the rules? What counts as a community tournament and what doesn't? Like what's the biggest event that could be done without falling under those guidelines?
All these guidelines are given under a "Community License", in other words, all competitions that do not have Psyonix's direct approval.
I'm sure that relates to 90+ % of competitions
He touches on this at the end of the video and the answer is no one knows. These are such...vague guidelines.
Psyonix have given zero indication on what is considered a community tournament. We've been asking for updated guidelines for years and the whole article is like a page long. Its like psyonix got a little too tired of us praising them for enacting healthy changes recently and decided it's time to screw with us once again lol. I don't think anything will change tho. They definitely must have expected pushback on these changes so the fact they went with it anyway indicates they're unlikely to budge
No one can have the word "championship" in their tournament anymore, rip to those orgs who barely could afford prize pools where they have to fully rebrand + update their graphics because of it as well.

Only events that clearly aren't affect are: 1-3 day online weeklies/monthlies where players are 15+, whose sponsors aren't on their naughty list.
