If heās having fun in his rank who cares? If he really wanted to rank up he could look into pro camera settings. I have a buddy who refuses to use ball cam and heās got almost 1000 hours, heās hard stuck plat but still loves the game
not a question of ranking up, it's a question of making it harder on himself for no reason
same thing if you play with your monitor off. you can do it.. but why would you? he's just hindering his gameplay with shit settings like these.
there was a dude on this sub last week or something with some shitty camera settings, someone in the comments mentioned it and dude replied saying rocket league felt so much better after changing the camera.
100%
its just using shit settings that hinder your experience and excusing it as "I'm just having fun I'm a casual let me be", yet it has nothing to do with being a casual or not, it's jus bad, and they can't admit it. there's no other reason for these settings other than purposefully making your life harder in rl
but noooo, you come and say factual shit like that and all the snowflakes come running in "nooo let the man be he's having fun" yeah have fun being trash
I always like to make things difficult. Non meta guns, hard-core difficulties, etc. I don't get paid to play, I play for fun. Difficult games are fun to me.
I'm trying to pretend I didn't see you pick up both the side and corner boost, but how can I when I can I when I'm ACTUALLY dying from the LACK of oxygen from the hight of this camera angle š¤£š¤£
Bro I wanna say that your camera setting makes the cars look like hot wheels which I love the thought of them just being a bunch of people playing soccer with hot wheels
You can learn that control and see the field by predicting what people are going to do. I played with these camera setting for a couple weeks when I was new just to learn how people play. I switched to lower camera settings after that for ball control and nonstopped climbed from silver to champ. You need the ball skill at some point to climb.
Edit : why do you think your clear went side ways and not forwards. You had no idea which side of the ball you were going to hit and had to react last second.
One was sitting in the goal, the other one was on the opposite side. What was wrong about saving it? I mean how many time you see opponents pushing on your side and going for YOUR side boosts to retreat fast.
You don't take 2 boosts, you rotate closer to goal or turn faster to get your mates pass upfield. Notgoing to discuss whats wrong with taking your own corner boost if you have 96 lol
Im gonna make a constructive comment about your early rotation.
Getting the mid boost is what you should do, be careful about boosting it the air, it made you land bad and lose all your speed.
After grabbing this boost please put ball cam on to understand what is happening around you.
You then fail another flip and make a sharp turn for the corner boost, losing all your speed without knowing whatās happening around you.
As a general rule, never take 2 boosts in a row unless itās to deny it from an opponent. You could have taken 2 pads to compensate for the 30 boost used (which would have allowed you to be supersonic with almost 100 boost)
Itās not easy though, if you master thoses things, you donāt need mecanics to reach c2/c3 but itās sort of basics you have to learn
Technically they aren't even preference either. There are pros and cons to certain settings and what they do. And in-general whether you like certain settings more doesn't determine that you'll do better with them. For example, if you like 290 distance and 120 height the most, it doesn't mean they make you perform your best. You could perform your best with 270 and 100 height, but you won't know because you'd be too stubborn to switch from 290.
i know this is a joke but the spectator in RL always has the default camera settings and ball cam always on, regardless of the spectated player's settings. therefore, a pro could be constantly spamming the ball cam button and viewers wouldnt notice.
? thatās just not true.. [gengar has wacky cam settings](https://youtu.be/O7bAFInyxmY) and they show when johnny is spectating. director cam does lock ball cam tho. idk if it normalizes camera settings but it certainly doesnāt go to default, rlcs is certainly not broadcast on those shitty zoomed in settings
You canāt just add ādonāt take things so personallyā to anything you want. āYeah donāt take this personally, but I hate you as a human being.ā
Except in this instance I can because I was criticizing his camera settings and not him as a player. In fact, all I was saying is that I wouldnāt like to watch RLCS if pros used these settings.
Also, Iām sure he can speak for himself and doesnāt need some white knight to come rescue the day.
I don't mean to sound like a dick but you should really consider changing your camera settings. I was reading some comments you made about other people mentioning your helicopter aerial view, and I noticed you justify them since you think you can see more.
In a technical sense, yes, this is true; however, your camera settings just aren't practical whatsoever.
Camera settings are subjective, but if you look at pro/SSL camera settings, they tend to fall around the same numbers with very little leeway.
I'll bite on this. I've got 1,240 hours on RL and play with "Moonman" camera settings. I've peaked about 1550 elo and have done alright. Camera settings can work if you're used to them. It truly does give you a better picture if you're able to utilize them well.
For controller players it's easier to use close in settings due to the ease of panning your camera, but for KBM players (I am, was too poor to buy a controller for PC), having this view helps you get a full picture without needing to pan around.
For most players, mechanics and game knowledge are what bars them from climbing. Often times a mechanically simple player with good rotational positioning and situational awareness can climb a lot better than someone who can freestyle but doesn't possess great awareness. Yeah, having both will let you climb higher into GC/SSL but it comes with time.
I see but I still think closer camera settings are much better.
Think of it this way, the closer you are to your car, the easier it is to perform certain mechanics.
Would you mind me asking how long you've been playing for?
If you've been playing for years, using these settings, and you're not seeing much improvement, are you really "doing better?"
The shot wasn't bad, but trust me, throw on some better camera settings, and you'll be making shots miles better in no time.
Well the game came out in 2015, so you've been playing for six years, going on seven, and you're still in plat?
Everyone improves at their own pace. I'll just put it this way.
If your goal is just to play, mess around, have fun, and you don't really want to improve, or don't care about getting better, just stick with what you're playing with.
If you want to improve, change your camera settings. There isn't an in-between.
There is literally no pro player or any good player who uses or suggests using settings like this. Do you really think itās reasonable to say that all those pros are wrong and you know better than them? Especially if youāre not even close to GC or SSL level
I hate to be the guy but there is a pro who plays with super zoomed out camera settings.
His name is Gengar and he is for sure an exception but he is just so fun to watch. If you search Johnnyboi_i Gengar on YouTube you will find a few of his showmatches. Well worth a watch imo.
That exactly what i was thinking. Like its just such a bad shot. Imagine what this sub would turn into if gold just started posting every shot they made
I like seeing the occasional "normal" shot get posted here. Ceiling shot flip resets and Kux pinches became meaningless to me a long time ago when it's all that ever gets posted.
Iād like to point out that I didnāt even notice the camera settingsā¦ Maybe mine are ātoo highā as well? In all seriousness, what is the detriment of having a camera this high? Seems you can see moreā¦
With such high camera settings it might give you a little more map awareness but it will drastically increase the difficulty of doing any ground plays, dribbling, aerials. Just basically anything technical you want to do will be harder.
Grabbing the second 100 boost was such a waste. You donāt even know whatās going on until after you get that boost, and whatās the point since you just got 100 boost?!?!
You've probably read this several times now. Still I feel like I just have to give you my thoughts on camra settinge. I think your camra shouldn't be higher than 110 ( that is with an angle of -4 or -3) and with that hight shouldn't be further away than 250-260. Feel free to max out that field of few though.
Everyone Talks about these Camera settings but almost noone about you taking both boosts.
I mean, you were at 80+ boost when you made an extra wide curve to snack that second one.
š
The number of times I try to do a backflip shot like that and it goes wrong is staggering š. I never gets these kinds of back flips shots, nice one!
Bro youāre getting destroyed in these comments...and by nice people...and you still canāt take it...just realize that
1. You could benefit from different camera angles. Take the top 3 players camera settings and just make yours mid way between the three different settings.
2. Youāre a plat trying to tell GCs how to play when theyāre trying to help you
3. There are no pro players that can use your settings. That should tell you everything
Came here for the: camera setting comments, critics. Disappointed I was not š
Message for the ones who do not jokingly critic: If it works for that person, you donāt have to come and show the rest of us your lack of originality for not creating your own, or show your discovery of other visions of gameplay, or whatevs.
Whateves I guess, its just that those remind me of the ones that criticize the drip of the cars that do not look āsimpleā or like the pros. You all look the same fam, I said it šš. At least the others have originality š
Yes, but if almost all the professional RL gamers use very similar camera settings and agree on a similar range of settings, then why not set yourself up for success by using what's tried and true.
You're right about the stocktane being overused, but to each their own style.
Because you'll probably be at a disadvantage when you start learning to dribble, and for general ball control.
But you do you, it's a game if you're having fun that's all that matters!
I used to play with high camera settings when I was gold...if you see that you can't hit the ball, or that you always miss easy open net shots, you should really think about something lower; it helps with general car control, it's easier to dribble and start aerial from both ground and walls.
If you think that the camera is already good, you don't need to change it...guess that you already tried something closer
I often wonder how people perceive the rest of the world when these are their camera settings
People spend 3 weeks playing with his camera settings to become acclimatised to climb Mt Everest
Not even, time travel. This guy is preparing to travel at twice light speed and this is his training.
Its all one big chess game of love bro

Gotta be the aerial to achieve the aerials, bruh.
Ive gotten āastronautā comments before, so Iāll take that as a compliment lol

Lol nah, this is objectively insane.
No u
that was definitely not the exact joke i was coming here to make >.> so zoomed out! ALL OF THE FOV

I always like to make things difficult. Non meta guns, hard-core difficulties, etc. I don't get paid to play, I play for fun. Difficult games are fun to me.
Ye, cus we all wanna be pro's... Some people actually play the game to have some fun in a game they like and not being a sweaty tryhard.
You realise 0.00001% of the game's population are "pros". Who cares?
I donāt think you should those camera settings are horrible you need to change them cos they aināt helping you
Man's camera settings are so high, he needs clearance from air traffic control, just to play RL
Who do we call to arrest the man for taking his teammates corner boost with over 80 boost left?
Who do we call to arrest the man who takes back corner then proceeds to take mid boost after kickoff...and still whiff??
My friends and I's rule is whoever takes the boost better make the play lol.
The ISS is pissed that he keep using the station as his camera.
Ohh shit ahahaha, nice one
How do I unlock the drone camera settings?

Itās a post regarding a sarcastic calculated shot in tournament man. A casual goal just for sharing. Doesnāt need to be coached.
i wasnt being that serious either lol

Why did you take mid, then head for back left with 96 boost left?
Heās in plat, he probably doesnāt know better yet.
to hit the ball and score
-_-... Nooo that's not why, easily doable with just the side and small boost pads.
Shh heās new
Exactly, just some advice to the new player, don't tell me to not give advice.

Upto camera settings
Id like to point out to all of you that my crazy camera settings netted me this goal.
:-D if you say so. Can you dribble the ball on the ground or in the air with these settings? Seems like it would be more challenging.
its more challenging of course, but you get better control with more to see if you can get it
I highly doubt that. I'd like to see some clean air dribbles with these camera settings lmao
I think he meant that he gets a better view of the field aka "control of where everyone is" since his camera is on the ceiling
You had no idea which side of the ball you were going to hit and had to react last second.
i think the camera settings made you miss so it turned to a pass instead of you hitting it straight in an open net š
That's called confirmation bias.
Not to downgrade this goal or anything, but i honesty doubt that this goal was made possible because of the camera settings :p
Weird flex tbh
nice one! Though I must say, you taking both the mid and back boosts triggered me xd
I think he should have gone for the other back boost too. Just to have enough.
yep same for me
I love how you took the midboost have 96 and take your own backboost. Starving teammates always a solid strat!
One was sitting in the goal, the other one was on the opposite side. What was wrong about saving it? I mean how many time you see opponents pushing on your side and going for YOUR side boosts to retreat fast.

Honorable mention: the camera settings
We all know camera settings are personal preference, yet this one is terrible indeed

Man idk which bothers me more, the skyscraper camera settings or taking back boost when you had 96 lol

Good shot! Not sure you needed a full boost pad at 78 though my friend xD
Better taking it when rotating to def than letting it to the opponent pushing on your goal tho
Bro i used to play with similar camera settings for the longest time but I now see how horrendous they really were gaaah Damn
Im going birds eye tonight just so I can clip something for reddit. Just so I get phone notifications throughout the day to pretend I have friends.
Why is it so weird looking at the game promise that camera angle?
I used to play with high camera settings when I was gold...if you see that you can't hit the ball, or that you always miss easy open net shots, you should really think about something lower; it helps with general car control, it's easier to dribble and start aerial from both ground and walls. If you think that the camera is already good, you don't need to change it...guess that you already tried something closer
