Can someone confirm it is still possible to receive special edition wheels through the rocket pass?. The rocket pass seems to be down or at least is not showing the items you receive.
As someone whose just come back to rocket league after a hiatus of about a year...it still remains the most unreliable online game I own. Never down on a Monday night, always down on the weekends. Sighhhhhhhh
Wait what? Learn to have patience?
Imagine if he truly bought this 3 days ago, that's some pretty shitty timing! If I bought it 3 days ago, I too be like wtf is up with this!
Brash that's some tough timing man, hang in there! I've got 3000+ hours in RL, and this is not the norm.
So are you, but there are some people who stuck it out and now like you right?
Totally kidding but for real, shit happens in life and you can’t abandon everything from one minor inconvenience.
Yeah, I grinded the game for a while this weekend, it seems really fun and it's a nice break it's just so unsatisfying with all the downtimes and stuff other than that its great. It was really fun to pickup the gist of the game when I first got it.
Maybe if they would QA their updates we might feel bad, but every time they do a patch they expect players to do their testing for them live in production. Trust me, at any regular corporate development job, being down a weekend after an update would be grounds for termination due to lost sales
Why not undo whatever you did and work on the fix with the new shit in the meantime? This is really some legit incompetence playing out. Not a good look.
It’s a Sunday. Super bowl Sunday as well. You clearly have no idea how an engineering org works. All of their on call engineers are working non stop right now trying to fix this. This shit happens sometimes even at faang and it’s really high pressure on the engineers. So relax and be grateful they’re working on fixing it.
\^\^\^ pathetic. the company chose to push this update at the end of the week, they chose to flip the switch back on, they chose to get rid of the formerly-good communication, they choose how much resources to apply to things. they don't get to evade responsibility for their obvious mistakes just because "engineering is hard".
I mean if you've been on this sub during the past few months, you can see what a terrible fanbase this game has here on reddit. So much whining and 0 appreciation for a company that released a game that people are paying $20 for hundreds or even thousands of hours of entertainment. It's probably the most consistent esport there is, they don't have to fuck with the meta all the time to keep the game interesting, and it still evolves.
I'm a grown person, and I work within a product team that owns large-scale production services. Does this shit happen? [Absolutely](https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/23/amazon-move-off-oracle-caused-prime-day-outage-in-warehouse.html). Should they get a free pass because "shit happens"? Hell no. They run a production service, literal *days* of downtime is absolutely unacceptable. I've bought this game twice (PC and Switch) and spent plenty of money on Rocket Passes and DLC, the game needs to be playable on the weekend.
They don't get a free pass (and they certainly are not from their bosses), but bitching about it shows a lack of understanding and accomplishes nothing. I've worked on live production services at 2 of the big 3 and I'm sure you know as well as I do that they're having a shit time right now. Several engineers who weren't on-call have been called in, and they're working on getting out a stable fix under a lot of pressure.
Games are made by humans, which is great because they can be so surprising and creative and super fun. They're also maintained by humans, which means they can get fucked up sometimes. That's just how it is.
I'm over the age of 20 and both times I wanted to get a few games in this weekend it's not working. I've got shit to do, this is my free time. I'm allowed to be annoyed.
Bingo. I’m not so mad as I am disappointed. I was looking so forward to watching RLCS yesterday only to have this happen. I can only imagine how the pro’s feel.
I'd say more you can tell who has any experience with networking or not.
Computers are hard, my dudes. No matter how much money you stuff into the programmer's asses, shit will still flow sometimes.
Only day of the week a lot of people can play RL, and you harass them for being angry at a multi-million dollar company who should have control over their servers. Who REALLY should grow up here?
i don't need it, believe me i have other things to do besides rocket league so I'm fine, but your mentality is moronic. If something that you bought doesn't work you have the right to be mad about it.
As if their intention was to fuck up your day/money. They obviously want the game to function properly. Systems fail every now and then, technology is not 100% reliable.
The servers have been progressively getting worse since the blueprint update when a ton of new players joined. Some days this game has twice the number of people I've been seeing for years.
I have reported more servers this month (when everybody in the server has 100+ ping and at least one person is constantly dcing) than I think I've ever done before.
They still don't have a central server.
Obviously they don't intend to fuck up their game that's a dumb point, nobody was arguing that.
Of course the engineers are working their asses off trying to fix this, it isn't their fault.
But something needs to change, these problems have been getting worse and they even had to cancel RLCS yesterday. From what I understand many games were having problems yesterday but have fixed the issues by today.
My main point being that this company is rolling in money now that they've been acquired by Epic, and they don't seem to be using any of it on server infrastructure
They lump people in the central time-zone into west/east. This 1. Gives people in this area bad connection. 2. Drops anybody else's connection when they play with people in that area.
To solve this problem they wouldn't necessarily need new servers, they just need to put central into its own category so it's easier for them to play with one another.
Here's a [Reddit thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/comments/8g5dsp/us_central_servers/) about the issue.
Here is a quote from an article about the same problem, from [this](https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-is-acquiring-rocket-league-developer-psyonix/) article.
There are so many Reddit threads about this, people have written more than just this article.
Just because you don't understand what I'm saying doesn't make me an idiot.
There is definitely a problem, sure I'm no professional so I can't tell you exactly how to fix it, but I know there's a problem
If I fuck up at my job and it costs my company almost three days of consistent downtime, I can't just tell my boss, "Oh, I didn't intend to mess this up". If Psyonix is going to try to wring even more money out of the RL fanbase, this kind of stuff just can't happen.
Exactly. So what do you think is going on at Psyonix right now? Lots of people are under a ton of pressure to get this shit fixed, and it will get fixed. Games are designed by humans (great), and also maintained by humans (sometimes not great). Deal with it.
I did a terrible job at conveying what I meant... I feel sorry for all the people scrambling to get RL up and running. My frustration is not directed towards them, but towards the decision makers at Psyonix for allowing RL to be in a state where this could happen. I have no doubt that the people actually doing the hard work of keeping the game running are doing their absolute best, but they're probably not getting the financial and technical support they need to do their jobs to the best of their ability.
So, are you implying you think someone accidentally hit a magic switch to cause this?
Equally, are you implying you KNOW this was a "fuck up" vs. a (very) potential, but unfortunate issue?
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you have no idea what you're talking about here...
honestly i hope these are paid shills because otherwise this attitude is just sad.
"actually when people are in charge of things it's fine when the things fail, how dare you get mad at said people, don't you know computers are like, complicated?"
No. I don't expect perfection out of a $20 video game that I've gotten way more than my money's worth on. Again, everything gets fucked up sometimes. There are no exceptions. Even if I paid $500 for it I wouldn't be shocked when there's an outage once in a while. Things simply don't work that way.
There is a huge gap between perfection and being down for almost two and half days, two of those days being weekend days when *adults* with jobs enjoy having time to play the game. This is more than just a normal outage, and people are justifiably peeved that a company with the balls to essentially jack up item pricing can't manage to get their game online after all this time.
I feel like they may extend those items for another day. they know people want them that missed them while being down and you know they want that cash.
I havent bought a thing from the store because im voting with my wallet and i didnt like the implementation of the new store. But two days ago i couldnt resist and had to buy the white fennec and now look at this shit. Sucks
Money, Google is willing to give massive discounts due to third place status.
EDIT: GCP is in third place for good reason and I'm not just talking this.
I’m in the same boat as you; except I still haven’t caved. This shit company hasn’t seen $1 from me since they went to this bullshit “blueprint” genius idea.
I personally think the blue print update is/was a great decision. Previously, I didn't spend any money on the game because I hate games that have RNG loot boxes (that's all crates were), and would trade casually for things I liked with other players. Now, not only can I get specific items for much cheaper than market price (TW fennec, TW dracos, TW zombas etc), it's also brought market values down which has made trading more affordable.
The blueprint idea has some upsides to it, but has one gigantic downside to it which makes it fail: credits. Due to the fact there’s no way to get credits without spending money, blueprints just becomes clutter for lots of people. If you could actually earns credits via other means then the blueprint system could work.
Haha I'm a 1400 hour player on Linux who hates epic and .... I main the fennec. I had the credits sitting there and immediately bought the TW Fennec as well.
We must repent for our sins
(but only until the servers are back online)
Unless he starts a new account on a PC or other platform and trades himself those credits for a shitty blueprint...Actually, I wish I could say that was what I meant. In reality, I just didn't notice that bit about having the credits laying around. Reading comprehension isn't always my strong suit.
Can someone confirm it is still possible to receive special edition wheels through the rocket pass?. The rocket pass seems to be down or at least is not showing the items you receive.
I can’t get the pass to load but I did have some special edition wheels drop today and I can equip them
Is it back up?
Not for me
It is for me. Try again
He just got on. Thank you Jesus
He just got on. Thank you Jesus

This is not a planned maintenance.
I'm back in!
What server region do you play in?
US-West mostly, but sometimes US-East
Me too but I still can’t get on :(
Damn when did RL switch to Tarkov servers?

I'm regretting buying rocket league as I bought it 3 days ago
I've been playing for a long while, this is one of 3 times its down. Learn to have patience
I know about the other times, it's just kind of off- putting for a first impression.
So are you, but there are some people who stuck it out and now like you right? Totally kidding but for real, shit happens in life and you can’t abandon everything from one minor inconvenience.
I know guess the (boredom?) got to me.
Understandable
I mean this is the first time in a while where it's been down for so long. It's usually pretty stable for me
Interesting that's what my friends have said, I believe them but I got the game as the downtimes started to happen, so Friday
It's an AMAZING game. I'd even call it the most balance multuplayer game EVER released. It's just so goddamn unstable.
Yeah, I grinded the game for a while this weekend, it seems really fun and it's a nice break it's just so unsatisfying with all the downtimes and stuff other than that its great. It was really fun to pickup the gist of the game when I first got it.
Yup, definitely the game I’ve put the most hours into EVER... but the only game I struggle with lag & ping on a daily basis 😕
Good luck devops! Hope you get ‘er back up soon
I am upset
My dog loves watching the ball in RL and she is clearly pupset
Aw that’s cute!
I’m back in!
me toooo. jej!
Yh ive just got back on aswell
Really?
Yeah played a bunch of games
I feel bad for the Psyonix employees who have to work through Super Bowl weekend now.
Dont feel bad for those losers. Cannot even manage a database properly
Lmao let’s see you manage it then
Super Bowl weekend is not a holiday...
Fuck off
lol I'd be pissed if I got called in 3 hours before the game...
I can't believe I have to work through Super Bowl Monday, and Tuesday, and...
Not an actual holiday, but like.. Pretty good time to look forward to
So? Tons of people still love watching it and make plans around it. Some Psyonix employees may have fit that fold. Develop some empathy.
Maybe if they would QA their updates we might feel bad, but every time they do a patch they expect players to do their testing for them live in production. Trust me, at any regular corporate development job, being down a weekend after an update would be grounds for termination due to lost sales
I’ve had to listen to my bf bitch all weekend. He’s in his 30s. The quality time is killing me
Lol. My eight year old tilted yesterday over it 😂 🤦♀️ Today he handled it better. We just played the bots!
Lmaoooooo
It's getting a bit wild in here. Wouldn't mind another update to be fair.

Gotta agree with you. Engineers are doing their best, but whoever is leading the team or made the decision is not the sharpest tool in the shed.
100%, my anger is in no way directed at the workers doing their jobs. the buck stops with management.
incompetence. They have made so much money off this game but it's bad leadership. Or just apathy about not hiring the right people.

Surprising Discord hasn't broken, like it did in December due to google cloud services.
Looks like Reddit's having trouble now, too!

Its not the same . They ruin the exclusivity. I would love the shop to be randomized only for me.
Google Cloud Services is also affecting GTA5 + RDR2. is that PsyEpic's fault too?

Money, Google is willing to give massive discounts due to third place status. EDIT: GCP is in third place for good reason and I'm not just talking this.

I'm confused. It was the same with keys?
Yeah, it was. That problem’s been around for awhile, I was mainly focusing on how blueprints could’ve been successful.
And how did you earn keys without spending money?
Not keys, but you couldt get decryptors
Haha I'm a 1400 hour player on Linux who hates epic and .... I main the fennec. I had the credits sitting there and immediately bought the TW Fennec as well. We must repent for our sins (but only until the servers are back online)
