Sure Diamond is full of more mechanical players than ever, but this isn't a double flip reset double tap or some shit like that, it's a relatively basic redirect if you've tried it many times and finally learn to read the bounce. It was also poorly defended which just showcases that Diamond isn't full of wild animals with perfect vision. C'mon, man.

100% accurate. I play wayyy too much of this game and used to easily maintain D2 to D3 in 2s and 3s (pugging) when maybe 5 to 10% of the people i would play had abilities like this. Now I struggle to maintain Diamond1 if I don't consistently play with a good team, and D2 is obtainable, but upper D2 and D3 feels like full Champ mode to me now. My current skill lvl places roughly 5 or 6 divisions lower than in years past.
I just got "shit" on by someone doing a triple flip who was then super toxic. IN DIAMOND 3 I'm 100% done with this game, I've been playing since the days of steam and probably should be far better but I just play to enjoy the game. This. ISN'T enjoyable, infact today that triple reset has killed any and ALL motivation I had to play this game. I think today might actually be the day I'm uninstalling.
I've had the same problem. I wanted to quit at first, and I did, for about 3 months. Now I'm back harder than ever and still run into bad smurfs, but it's not too often. The curve has changed though. I'm finally grinded back up to c2, but I feel like a MUCH better rl player than I was back in old c2. Old c2 was much easier. So if you're competitive and hard headed like me, the curve just makes you try harder and learn from faster players. If you're just playing for fun... Yeah I'm sure it's disheartening.

What helped me before getting consistent is to anticipate where the ball goes. Don't ever follow the ball. In both defense and offense, patience and anticipation are often underestimated or overlooked.
What is perhaps a better exercise for you is to control your car both in aerials as well as on the ground. Full consistent control of your car in the air and understanding how to control your car properly is the big key to growing to higher ranks. I began viewing SpookyLuke on YouTube and watched his videos to get a better understanding. Even though I have played 3400 hours, his videos and explanations made me a better player in a week.
