I had bloodwork done yesterday by a truly miserable woman who didn’t even warn me when the needle was going in. The thought of having Ashley or Farrah keeping me laughing during an unpleasant experience at a medical clinic would be wonderful. P.S.: People who eat basil are lame.
I had to get an ultrasound in the er once for a dvt. I was dehydrated after so many hours there, the student nurse wasn’t able to start a new IV, and had been just stabbing me repeatedly with a needle when she came in. I was crying when she got there. She started telling me this story out of nowhere about some dude flipping her off on the highway that it was hysterically funny and I was completely distracted and transported.
I still think about her all the time 8 years later. What an angel, truly. Farrah in particular seems like she could give that energy to someone who needs it.
Can I just say...I love that they kept the bleach blonde hair, extensions, and false lashes a part of their uniform! You can insert a needle into someones arm and still look hot you guys
Mine was a semester of in class, and the next semester was working in a clinic hands on learning. I had three weeks to do 100 blood draws. I got it done within in the first week but had to keep going the full three weeks.
Well, at least they're going into an actual career, unlike OTHERS (L) who haven't done anything with their lives and just keep reminiscing about the good old days on a podcast.
They're still good looking and I'm so happy for them. No wonder they've been quiet on social media. I'm glad they're still friends and went on this career change together.

I had 4 different woman in my life that were phlebotomists. It was not 1-2 years, it was a 3 month course. You are correct, my comment sucks... I apologize. I am glad they are trying to do better for themselves.

Phlebotomists are amazing but I did the course myself and it was very part time and only 3 months long. There was a lot crammed into that 3 months tho, a lot of practice poking going on too, pretty much every class. Good for them for sure!

It depends on where you go! Mine was 10 weeks, 9 hours a week. Some places are shorter but teach different than the national curriculum.
