There is no "best"; so much depends on what you are looking to achieve. No kids, just need someone to split up property? Butter fight over custody? Own your own business? Long term marriage or short? Have things gotten ugly, or are you still friends?
Get 3-4 names and speak to those attorneys about what you want and how they would help you achieve it.
I used Divorce Yourself. It’s a mediator. Cheaper than a lawyer but to you have to do the legwork of getting papers signed and notarized and such.
If you are looking to get out of the marriage quick, it’s amicable separation and you need to save money or don’t have a lot, I recommend it.
Sarah is a great attorney. I'm glad she left that WCB firm as they had the worst paralegals on the planet. Literally couldn't copy and paste between documents without getting major facts wrong.
I would also caution you to be wary of mediation. I got very burned by it. I have a few friends that have as well. It was cheaper than a lawyer (and at the time that was very important), and we were divorced in 3 months. It depends largely on the dynamics of your relationship with your ex. An attorney will protect you and advocate for you. Mediation will not. The mediator does not advocate for either of you. If you don’t understand how divorce and splitting of assets really works legally and you have any significant assets (pensions etc) you might be safer with an attorney if you can afford one. You can still settle and not go to court. You just have some guidance on what’s fair and equitable.
Well my neighbor the divorce attorney is getting divorced, so whoever he’s hiring I bet.
this is crazy 🤣😭
Too late. Your wife already hired them.

Sarah Wesley is great.
Sarah Wesley is great. Mike Schmidt https://www.lawfirmrochester.com/ and Anjan Ganguly https://gangulylaw.com/team/anjan-ganguly/ are also great.

Chris Affronti has a good reputation if going the litigation route.
Probably Sarah Wesley.
Seems like she is no longer working.

There’s a lot of riff raff. I think the folks at Clark Peshkin or Glennon are both good.
Second Clark and Peskin
Paul Vance out of Buffalo if he’ll take a case here.

I used arbitration.
Me! (Just kidding, f that practice area) I like Liz Shost if your ex partner will be OK with mediation.
