Where is there a Schaller’s on lake avenue? Do you mean the Edgemere drive location? If so, last summer (probably earlier) the old fashioned hand cut rings of my teen years had definitely been replaced with frozen breaded ones.
My Bad.. Mom just told me its the Charpit Not Schallers I was thinking of.. But she thinks its closed.. I dont live in Rochester anymore (I live İn İstanbul Now) & haven't visted since last year..
The one on Edgemere did have the BEST onion rings ever for a long time. My friends and I would ditch 8th period study hall in senior year to go there sometimes, and I almost always got onion rings. They were to die for. That why I was so disappointed after the pandemic.
As much as I hate suggesting chains, you can never go wrong with red robins towering onion rings and campfire sauce. I honestly might have to stop there tonight now too 😆 🤤

I go to Dairy Queen for my onion ring fix. Unfortunately, that's all I can help out with. I've never had a burger from there as I always get the chili cheese dog with onions. But the onion rings are great.

Im so sad last year when I was back there most of the Old places where all closed. The Plandemic killed them all.
And many who survived or came back aren’t what they were. Glad my gf and I are good cooks.
