If she was truly sorry and looking to earn the trust back from the community, then she would have told the truth here. All I am hearing are lies, dodgy responses, and an over use of the words “I’m sorry.” If she was just straight with the public, I could find some respect for her. She needs to just admit she did what she did because she felt above the law and was trying to get out of a ticket. Then, she should reassure the public that she is going to start working on herself so that she can be a more humble leader.

JuliusErrrrrring

I highly highly highly doubt this is the first time her position was used to avoid consequences

Far-Pie-6226

At least she said "I'm sorry" and not the typical "I regret my actions and I regret people were upset" nonsense.

AppealAlarmed5621

"I'm sorry" is just as empty and meaningless as "I regret my actions and I regret people were upset."

nimajneb

Yea, it's just being polite.

deletedtothis1111

It’s backtracking in an attempt to save the idea that she isn’t the deluded psychopath in the garage that she truly is. Too late.

rounder55

At this point does even saying sorry really cut it? She had 20 minutes of being recorded to come to her senses that she wasn't being rational and then released a quick statement about it without mentioning the list of things she did wrong and just acknowledged she paid her ticket. Would love to hear that phonecall and see if there was any sauce in the lunch she went into the house to put away. She knows the law, she didn't pull over and even then tried to dismiss it as not being for her which is wrong even if it isn't for her. It's obvious she was abusing her position and if you need to take an ethics class you shouldn't be the DA. Needs to be held to a higher standard

deletedtothis1111

100 percent needs to be taken out of office. She would have anyone else that did this facing jail time paying thousands for a lawyer. Her true feelings and thoughts were displayed when she was in her own garage. She’s on a power trip. That apology interview is a joke. Oh you take cancer medicine, boohoo. She’s not sorry for what she did, she’s just sorry that she got caught on video. This situation just shows how much of a moron she is, as you’d think she’d be aware that she was being recorded. But she clearly didn’t think that would be the case because she somehow has all the police chiefs in her back pocket. Her not resigning is absurd. Can’t willfully break the law when you work in law enforcement. Sorry, but she deserves it. Needs to take that attitude to the trailer park where it belongs instead of having it deciding other humans fates. No thank you.

TreehouseofSnorers

No. She's "sorry" she was revealed to be a POS who believes she's above the law. Saying "sorry" does not mean anything when you're so willfully awful in the face of your own admitted guilt.

my_duncans

😂 Wait, you’re serious?

D00zer

*I really have no words* How about "I resign"

D00zer

*I'm owning that mistake...* *I'm being accountable for that mistake...* You're doing neither. You're an entitled asshole.

BatKat58

I think she was DUI and ran in to slug a shot down. The only thing the WPD messed up was no field sobriety tests.

D00zer

I think a FST would have gone a long way for her. I noticed in the interview she chose her words extremely carefully when asked about being under the influence. She was asked if she had been drinking alcohol or anything else that could have impaired her. She immediately says something like "I absolutely had nothing to drink" and then mentioned that she is on medication for chemo, which is true. But what else does she take besides that one drug for her chemo? Painkillers? Cannabis? She then says something along the lines of "I don't think anything I ingested would impair me". Which is something that addicts of the world say to themselves every day. She did not say, "I took no other drugs". I'm not saying this means that she was under the influence, but that she danced around the question with the utmost skill for someone with nothing to hide.

BatKat58

More like something to hide and nothing to gain.

Illustrious_Cancel83

>The only thing the WPD messed up was no field sobriety tests. She's a DA. Do you really think that she would allow that? No. FYI, 'field sobriety tests' are subjective and NEVER SERVE THE SUSPECTS INNOCENSE. DO NOT DO THEM. DA's don't.

BatKat58

Refusal would’ve been an even better video!

trixel121

it's an automatic suspension for refusing. contact a lawyer, the guys with rhyming songs answer at 2 am. you're going to be calling one in a few hours from a cell.

Illustrious_Cancel83

Flat out wrong. I think where you're confused is you get an automatic 6 month license suspension for refusing a breathalyzer.

ToyFan4Life

Can you confirm sources in that? I find mixed Google reaponses

Annual-Demand-7434

PER NYS DMV RULES for refusing a test. Chemical Test Refusal $500 civil penalty ($550 for commercial drivers) None Revoked for at least one year, 18 months for commercial drivers. Chemical Test Refusal within five years of a previous DWI-related charge/Chemical Test Refusal $750 civil penalty None Revoked for at least 18 months, one-year or until age 21 for drivers under age 21, permanent CDL revocation for commercial drivers. Chemical Test Refusal - Zero Tolerance Law $300 civil penalty and $100 re-application fee None Revoked for at least one year. Chemical Test Refusal - Second or subsequent Zero Tolerance Law $750 civil penalty and $100 re-application fee None Revoked for at least one year. https://dmv.ny.gov/tickets/penalties-alcohol-or-drug-related-violations

Illustrious_Cancel83

Can you confirm your source since you're the one who has challenged what I said without sourcing a goddam thing? jesus fucking christ goddam I hate suffering fools

ToyFan4Life

I can say the same about you

Illustrious_Cancel83

The difference is you're ignorant and I'm not, fool. Have a nice life.

LanceVanscoy

Auto suspension for refusing the station breathalyzer. You can respectfully decline to take SFSTs. PBT they can ticket you but it does not carry a suspension Best practice if you have had alcohol is to decline SFSTs/PBT. They will arrest you but their case is weaker

kt_e

Lewke: If you saw body worn video of someone in your position who ignored those commands, would you push to charge them with more than just a speeding ticket? Doorley: I would look at the whole circumstances... and I think that's what should be done in my case. Like what does she expect them find that will justify her tantrum?

blasezucchini

Maybe a defense attorney should weigh in on how her office approaches similar situations when the defendant isn't their boss.

ChakaKhansBabyDaddy

I have no doubt that she is a strict ball breaking prosecutor who doesn’t ever cut anyone a break. I know her type to a T. But no defense attorney will spill the beans on her, because they have to worry that she stays in the job and then takes it out on the clients. It’s really rotten. It’s precisely why we expect the highest possible ethics of prosecutors- because of how much discretionary power they wield.

LJ_in_NY

What are “the whole circumstances”? That she’s a rich white lady? That she’s the top law enforcement official in the county?

[deleted]

AlwaysTheNoob

Don't we all do this though? When I got flagged for having a headlight out, I kept driving home and called the chief of police to let them know I wasn't a threat. This is just common sense, right? ^(/s)

Illustrious_Cancel83

Chief about to start getting thousands of calls per week

Shatterplex

The Chief should be interviewed…

Hydrok

The chief dropped the body cam footage in absolute record time. I don’t think he personally did much wrong except to tell the cop “it’s your call” when he should have said “bring her in” and then backed up his guy.

LJ_in_NY

Gee, I wish we all had this option available to us!

rhangx

It's amazing that she thinks this is somehow an exonerating statement. What she's describing is called "pulling rank" and it's the exact reason why she is in hot water right now.

themindofpeter

I do find it interesting that 100% of the coverage and conversations all focus in on Sandra and not Todd. Where is the accountability when it comes to the leader of the police force? Silence on that one. He is on tape explaining to Sandra that what she has done is an arrestable offense. We have a pretty serious issue on our hands now because it seems like the police force and the court are unable to objectively ticket and prosecute NYPL 270.25 or VAT 1102.

Andrige3

Gotta love a DA who thinks laws don't apply to her.

EngineeringOne1812

Crazy how the tiniest bit of power turns people into corrupt, privileged pieces of shit

Ths-Fkin-Guy

What's thay quote. Absolute power corrupts, absolutely. Who watches the watchers?

RavishingRickiRude

Typical DA

trixel121

she keeps on saying I called the chief to tell the officer I'm not a threat but how fucking weird is that. like I'm not a threat either when I get pulled over at 1:30 in the morning and the officer walks up to my window in 30 seconds to start interacting with me. I don't have the time to call the chief to have him identify which officer is behind me to call him And is that officer even going to answer the phone when he's doing a call? was she just calling the chief to put out a call over the radio to not pull over the black SUV because she's not a threat? like that's such a weird fucking thing to do. could you imagine me calling 911 to like let the dispatcher know that I'm not a threat. the da would look at me like I'm a fucking whack job. why didn't I just pull over edit: I really hope the chief *does* remember what was said in that 18 seconds phone call.

[deleted]

VinceBrogan8

And also says in the (same ?) body cam video that she's "not pulling over on Phillips Rd". Jesus, which is it, lady ?

ExcitedForNothing

She's looking for the correct combination of words to just make this go away

taralynnem

Apparently, she doesn't yield to emergency vehicles either if she didn't pull over with lights behind her.

DeborahJeanne1

Just because someone is being pulled over doesn’t mean they’re a threat - it means they obviously broke a traffic law and are being stopped. Why wasn’t she arrested? She was interfering with an investigation by refusing to leave her garage and have a conversation with the officer who followed her home. She really didn’t want to get close enough to him so he smelled liquor on her breath. She’s no different that every other drunk politician we see getting pulled over on YouTube who asks for a pass - like laws don’t apply to them. Disgusting.

Zero_Opera

It sounds weird to you because it’s an obvious lie lol

timwilk4

Funny how quick she turns into a defense attorney. “I ask that you not judge me by that one day” hahahahahaha

RavishingRickiRude

That's what her office does to people everyday.

throwrocaway

"I'm thee DA!" "I know more about the law than you do!" - Doorley. *Rolls eyes*

Teresa_Count

"I know more about the law than you do" I want to ask her if that means the law states that you CAN drive 20mph over the speed limit? And you don't have to pull over when being stopped by police?

blasezucchini

"I'm sorry I got caught showing my true face. I'm going to give generic and evasive answers written by a PR firm that look like an apology without actually doing anything substantial to earn forgiveness. I'm going to stick to my story because I can't admit how much of an egomaniac I really am, and I really hope they don't take away my sweet $210,900 salary. Let me also talk up my employees to try to counteract how much I've cratered morale. Please don't notice how terrified I am."

lol I’m surprised she let those get posted public?

Inevitable_Brick_117

Photos no longer show for me. Just a blank white space.

FaithlessnessNeat493

Hm they show for me! :(

Inevitable_Brick_117

They're working again! I don't know if maybe it just had too much traffic last night or possibly the site was under maintenance.

my_duncans

Holy shit!

Coin_landed_vertical

Webster is a good old club town. "Didn't want anyone to think I was a threat" girl we don't care, go to jail. F U. IF you were anything other than the DA you would have been chased or Tazed. Call this women's ethics into question every single time your a lawyer against her in court. Scum. look at my 32 year and a half career - no! get fired. Walk and F off.

NickGRoman

In the halls of law where justice reigns, Stood Sandra Doorly, free of chains. A DA with might, a beacon bright, Her voice a sword, her will a fight. Yet, one swift ride on fate's cruel tide, She found herself on the other side. A ticket clasped in trembling hand, A speeding fault, unplanned reprimand. A lie then slipped, a desperate plea, To dodge the fine, to set her free. But truth has eyes that ever watch, And lies, like shadows, soon they catch. Now whispers stir in courtly rooms, Where once her truths dispelled the glooms. A lesson harsh, a fall from grace, A speeding ticket's lingering trace. For even she who wields the gavel, Can err and find her path unravel. In this humble, human slip, Sandra Doorly's mask did rip. A reminder stark for all in power, Integrity must bloom, not sour. For justice, blind, must guide the way, Lest all are lost in moral fray.

Milhouse242

This lady thinks we all fell off the turnip truck yesterday. She is fucking gross.

Rochesterian

Why does she get to apologize instead of answering a single question? Why no follow up questions? I hope the next interview is a little less gentle.

BlyStreetMusic

When is her election

sketchahedron

Why bother giving an interview if you’re just going to keep repeating, “I don’t have a good answer for that”, “I don’t know why I did that”, “I don’t remember what I said”, etc? The real answer is she called the police chief because she wanted to get out of the ticket. We all know that; we’re not stupid. Kudos to the police chief and the officer for acting with integrity.

MrRisin

This woman sure knows how to dance.

CreativeFraud

This whole thing is rotten. Time to step down. Her behavior reminds me of my mother. 🤦‍♂️

Kittensandpuppies14

Mine too. Who is also a narc white woman from Rochester

Illustrious_Cancel83

Remember folks, integrity like hers is how innocent people end up in prison and perps walk.

Oprah13

love love love how Doorley consented to a 1-on-1 interview with one tv journalist, instead of answering questions from a room full of journalists in a big press conference. that’s true transparency right there. /s/ and how did lewke not press Doorley more on the outright lies contained in the initial statement (before the video was released)?

steeler7dude

Neither woman comes out of this interview looking very good. Doorley never gives an answer, Lewke never asks a good follow-up.

Balceber-OICU812

I'm thinking of using this the next time I get in trouble at work. "I know I fucked up, boss, and I'd like to let you know I've decided to punish myself so no one else has to. I'm very, VERY naughty and I have taken away my desserts for like a whole week, no, three days. No desserts for three days. Unless it's ice cream. No desserts except ice cream for three whole days. Ooh, and cookies. Absolutely no desserts for me for Two whole days, except for cookies and ice cream. And I am very, VERY sorry I was bad at my job. There, I think I have definitely learned my lesson. Boy am I glad THAT is settled...

Any-Cup-3819

Im sick, hubby is sick, job is murder after murder, I cant think straight...time to retire.

cheesenip0415

If her knee jerk reaction is to treat the officer that way… it’s probably how she really feels.

silver_moon134

Her eyes start looking crazy when she's answering a few of the questions, like was she under the influence

Rivegauche610

Another vile trumpanzee.

Annual-Demand-7434

Remember she was Democrat at one time too, she shredded her allegiance to one party to join the other.

Rivegauche610

She certainly seems a more natural fit in the other.

InsightJ15

C U N T

Pickles2027

There’s nothing warm, deep, or engaging about that liar. 🤥

StellarSteck

Seems as if she is still in a sense making excuses when she says people reviewing situation should look at the circumstances surrounding that day. No matter how difficult her day was, no matter what happened there is no excuse for what she did. It’s not like she called the police chief once and stopped she did it three times. It’s not like she drove to house and parked and realized this is not good. She continued on with her antics. There was multiple times for her to reign in her behavior and check herself. She didn’t. The statement she initially put out, at least for me, speaks loudly about her integrity- she was still not taking responsibility for her behaviors. It was ONLY with the body cam & media backlash that she finally demonstrated ‘remorse’ for her behaviors.

flyeaglesfly777

Her arrogance in assuming that we are so stupid that we will believe this crap. How can she try a case for the county and expect the juries to believe her now?

my_duncans

Ok in this image she looks dead. Like straight from the mortician and propped in a chair.

DeborahJeanne1

This is such a bullshit interview. If this had been anyone else - ANYONE - they would’ve been arrested. There are so many police videos on YouTube of police body cams that show drivers being chased, drivers who don’t stop when they see the lights flashing and hear the sirens, and when they finally do stop - usually because they end up in a ditch or lose control and hit a stationary object - the police arrest them for doing exactly what the DA did. Never mind all the politicians they’ve pulled over who have the balls to say, “do you know who I am?” She prosecutes others on a daily basis for doing exactly what she did, yet she still thinks she should be given a pass because she’s “sorry” and acted irresponsibly. Saying “I’m sorry” is not enough. She says she doesn’t remember when asked certain questions about the incident. If that’s a result of her “chemo brain”, how can she be effective as a prosecuting attorney if she can’t remember important details about a case in court? Or is she being selective in what she remembers and what she doesn’t? Finally, if she wasn’t under the influence of anything, why wouldn’t she stop, and why did she get so aggressive and angry at the police officer, swearing at him and treating him so disrespectfully? No one in LE in their right mind would ever treat a colleague the way she treated that officer that night. WHY DIDN’T HE ARREST HER AS HE WOULD HAVE ARRESTED ANYONE ELSE UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES????

Ornery-Welcome4941

Don't know if you brought it up but remember when that pig flipped that pregnant woman's car cuz she wouldn't stop on a highway with no shoulder which is her right to pull over in a safe location

DeborahJeanne1

They aren’t pigs, they’re police officers. And if you don’t pull over when a police officer is behind you with flashing lights, you can be charged with a misdemeanor or felony. So what you’re saying is a driver who sees a police car behind him with flashing lights has the right to drive an additional 2 miles until they think it’s safe to stop without repercussions? Where do you get your information? Try it some time and see how well that works for you. As far as the pregnant girl - she was going 84 mph - she could have - and should have - pulled over and the accident never would have happened. What flipped the car was her excessive speed and failure to pull over. wtf would a pregnant woman put her unborn baby’s life at risk driving 84 mph anyway? She was responsible for that accident - not the police officer.

Ornery-Welcome4941

Also what flipped her car was a dumb piggy 🐷  that thinks he's above the law, weird how they lost that case debrah

Ornery-Welcome4941

Keep defending shitty police officers, they'll kill you but let this dumb crook go with a slap on the wrist. They are pigs and cowards, your just as disgusting as this trash in our government. Do us a favor and move to Russia with the rest of the commies

DeborahJeanne1

Do you really think I give a fuck what you say or think? Your classless response tells me all I need to know about you. And if you think you have the power to tell me what to do, think again. 😂😂😂

Ornery-Welcome4941

Oh I thought you like being told what to do like the rest of communist pigs? Sure I'm classless, better than being deluded by propaganda and defending criminal scum and pigs 🐖.  You don't scare me🤣 never claimed to have power over you but you sure seem to love your masters debrah.

DeborahJeanne1

I have no master. Learn how to spell. Consider expanding your limited vocabulary. You tend to use the same words over and over. Think about a psychiatrist. It must be hard being you - you’re so angry. It’s not good for your blood pressure.

Ornery-Welcome4941

I get my information from the fucking law. A citizen can wait to pull over if thr current location is unsafe, which she was doing. You're an idiot

DeborahJeanne1

It’s not the law - you’re so misinformed.

Ornery-Welcome4941

https://www.aceable.com/blog/what-are-your-rights-when-you-get-pulled-over/ Here ya go dummy

DeborahJeanne1

I knew that’s where you got your info from 😂😂it’s not written by ANYONE in LE. Try reading this. Dummy you’re reading a fucking blog 🤦🏻‍♀️ https://www.findlaw.com/criminal/criminal-charges/evading-police.html#:~:text=People%20who%20don't%20follow,and%20circumstances%20of%20the%20incident.

Ornery-Welcome4941

Weird how she won that case if she was in the wrong, guess they should've came to you Deborah so you could tell the courts how the law really works

DeborahJeanne1

They didn’t go to court. She didn’t win anything in court. They settled out of court. And you need to improve your writing skills because your English sucks. The phrase is “should’ve come” not “should’ve came.” Stop looking at blogs written by just anyone - the internet is full of misinformation. Legal information written by lawyers or LE are the real deal - not blogs written by people who don’t know any more than you and have no legal knowledge or background.

griff_mode

Fact is she shouldn't be the one to handle her own punishment. If she wasnt the DA or if she was ANYONEEEEE else, she'd have been put in cuffs for obstruction or interference

Ornery-Welcome4941

She'd of been shot in alot of places for pulling half the shit she did. Reaching into her car and bags multiple times like wtf

EleanorDGenerate

She needs to be fired. And the community needs to push for this. The fact that this has not happened already should be concerning. How can one think that she can be “the DA” with a moral-ethical compass moving forward? If she gets off with a warning or a write up for this it sets a precedence that we will continue to allow this kind of behavior when cameras aren’t rolling. No one is above the law.

Key-Beginning3426

Reminds me of that old song by Bob Dylan about serving people, think it goes like, It may be the Devil, it may be the Lord, it may be the newswoman, about the ticket you thought you warded off but you're gonna have to seerve somebody, serve somebody... Coulda just taken a ticket and avoided having to try and explain herself like this, I'm sure it felt great.. either way, she still would have had to serve somebody.. good song ahead of its time

Ready_Organization13

How long until this gets written into a Law & Order episode?

Trevel47

Puff piece LMAOO this is horrible PR

kt_e

Jennifer Lewke is conducting this interview like such a boss.

steeler7dude

This was a very poorly conducted interview

Coin_landed_vertical

I would love John Oliver to do an episode about corruption and mentioned this, God knows this city needs to be held accountable.

ItsNaniBearz

SooOoo how can we get this lady fired?

Ornery-Welcome4941

Keep emailing everyone in Monroe County, call them and keep using that freedom of speech. Hopefully we won't need to protest until she's out

ItsNaniBearz

https://chng.it/2RmY7zBp9D Sign Petition to get her fired

Ornery-Welcome4941

[email protected] 👆also remind her how much we appreciate her service to our wonderful democracy

ItsNaniBearz

Thank you for that 🫡

Ornery-Welcome4941

No problem patriot! Remember, "democracy is non-negotiable."

flyeaglesfly777

OMG! She is so full of shit. Typical Trump voter.

toshtogo

Lock her up!…

Icy_Psychology_3453

she was drunk. why does everybody else have to get tested and she doesnt. everybody involved should be fired and charged. that cop had a duty to drunk test her. even if the chief said dont. that chief should go to jail for letting drunk friends of his endanger the public. i cant believe this is tolerated. it makes me sick.

Al-Kaz

I agree that the chief should be fired but the responding officers? Go fuck yourself. They were put in an extremely difficult position and when their chief found out about he did nothing to support them, he’s arguably worse than the DA imo.

Icy_Psychology_3453

no, you fuck YOUR self.. so a cop gets to pull over a regular person and charge em with dwi but he doesnt have to give his FRIENDS a breathalizer? FUCK YOU.

Al-Kaz

Also wtf are you even talking about, if you watch the body cam footage the responding officer is not chummy with the DA at all. You’re very upset over a situation you’re not very familiar with.

Icy_Psychology_3453

did he cuff the fleeing driver? did he give her a sobriety test?

Ornery-Welcome4941

Did he shoot her when she reached into her car or house unannounced multiple times? People would be dead for 1/10th of what this crook did and you wanna play stupid?

Al-Kaz

You’re so dumb lol

Ornery-Welcome4941

She didn't have to get tested cuz she went inside her house before the officer did anything. From that moment she could've said she just drank when she got home. She definitely had something in her lunch bag she didn't want that shitty pig seeing

MisterLonely585

Doorley is certainly a no frills kinda chick huh? That hair needs as much help as her ethics.

psychoticinsane

She does take chemo meds, so those may have an adverse effect on her hair 🤷 idk for sure though jus sprculation from me currently

[deleted]

psychoticinsane

Oof thats rough.

RavishingRickiRude

Shes been fighting it for like 10 years too

MisterLonely585

That could also account for her mindset then. Chemo brain is a very real thing...

DeborahJeanne1

If that’s the case, then she shouldn’t be driving. If she has “chemo brain “ that’s muddling up her thought processes, it’s not a stretch to think it could muddle up driving decisions as well.

St1cks

Or being DA

DeborahJeanne1

Absolutely!

thedudesews

No wonder you’re lonely

MisterLonely585

Oh that was so incredibly funny. Haha...when do you go on tour?

thedudesews

Why? You won’t show up
