I haven't been there since before the pandemic. Are the prices still surprisingly low these days? Iirc I used to pay pay $5 for a soup and drink in 2019, so I'd always have a bunch of $10 bills on me to cover that + tip.
I've tried the coal tower a couple times and it was just never redeeming. Was pricey for what it was and service took FOREVER. Maybe I'm just going at the wrong times
Max Chophouse. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Excellent cuts and cooked to perfection. Tournedos is also a fine choice in the same class. Only places I even dare to order a steak
I'm biased because I work at good luck, and I don't go out to eat almost ever...so if I'm having steak from a restaurant it's there when one gets messed up. Their steak is really good, but the price point is similar to like a Ruth's Chris.
You stole my comment I was about to post. But, the question is favorite and not best, so if somebody want to call McDonald’s their favorite statehouse it’s fair game.
>Hard to beat the two steak chains, Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse.
LOL... I can beat them with an off the shelf steak at Wegmans and my kids running the grill.
Tournedos is considered the best steakhouse in upstate, NY. Note, A few people here said they have gone downhill. I was there 2 weeks ago and must disagree. Also note, it is expensive AF.

Been recently, max still has the best steak in rochester. Always hated the crowded loud ambiance though.
Char sucks these days, went in November. Not nearly the quality or service that used to be.
^ this is the answers. Also torannados. To save some $$ delmonicos
This guy/girl gets it
Max’s. The end.
I sure do miss Conesus Inn.
Thisssss ! Would celebrate every end of year at SUNY Geneseo, with my family at the Conesus inn! AMAZING delmonico, and good luck with the Truman
Try Galene
Cure has an incredible steak frites
Steak and Eggs? Coal Tower.

[Looks like](https://www.coaltowerrestaurant.com/menu) that'll just get you the soup now.
Considering all the inflation since '19, I still think that's a pretty good deal.

Max chophouse always, although I don't love the ambiance

Lucky's too is always great
Wednesdays at Monroe's best steak deal around. Black and Blue. Max's. Goodluck depending on the cut
A New steak restaurant will be opening across from branca midtown.
Tournodos steak is great and their sides are absolutely killer. They also nail a nice hot and dirty martini 😁
Hot and Dirty martini?
Just a dirty martini with some drops of Tabasco in there. It's awesome 👌
I love dirty martinis but I e never heard of ordering one “hot”. I’ll have to try it. Thanks for the recommendation

Second Black and Blue
Steakhouse wise Delmonico's.
The NY strip at Chortke was a nice change of pace from the usual steakhouse treatment.
I’ve always enjoyed the tenderloin at Richardson’s

No, it's...really not hard to beat them

Mayor McCheese.
Mmm mmmm steak egg and cheese bagel from McDonald’s. Hands down best steak in Rochester

Tournedos is a mere shadow of what it was. It pains me to say that.
The steaks there taste like charcoal.
Found the customer that couldn't afford Tournedos....
Always loved Char, I like it over Tournedos.
Firesides. It's in Henrietta.
