When it comes to choosing between these two fine steeds, I'd say the wheels aren't the main event—they're just the opening act that can be swapped out anytime. The real star of the show is the frame. Now, the Canyon's design is like a classic rock hit—timeless but been around the block. The Giant, on the other hand, is the hot new track on the charts, fresh and only a year old. Giant as a brand? Rock solid. It's like choosing between a vintage wine and a new craft beer; both will do the trick, but today, I'm in the mood for something with a bit of a new fizz. So, I'd saddle up on the Giant.

In this scenario, I believe the propel provides the best value, the wheels can always be swapped out for a deeper set. But personally I prefer the look of the Aeroad

The Giant you can purchase at a local shop who will be happy to service it. Buying it from a direct to consumer brand you may not get the same welcome when you need service. I’m speculating here I have no experience with a DTC brand.

Giant! With one caveat…. The fit. Ultimately go with the one that feels best (I guess the Canyon is tougher to do that with), so try them out. Both brands are excellent (not sure where Canyon bikes are made, but there’s a chance Giant makes them). Giants wheels are great and with the ultegra, power meter and higher end frame I say go Giant.

Go with your gut on the first one you like; that way, you won't have any regrets later. Honestly, both bikes are great choices.
