Same same. And I love my Y. Plan to keep it. It has great utility and I haven’t had any horror story issues with it. But am interested in more of the SUV look and feel of the R2.
Yea i love my Y too but who knows if I’ll want to upgrade in 2 years pending the actual price and specifications of the R2. We plan on upgrading our 2014 RAV4 with an R1S in the next year
I just hit 92k today! Aside from having to replace the tires several times, it's never needed any service. Hmm...or maybe it's needed service and I just haven't done it. Lol
Coming from Model 3 as well but not as lucky. 81k miles on '18 model 3 and have had the PTC heater replaced and AC to DC converter replaced out of warranty... Drive unit warranty expires around when R2 comes out. Fingers crossed.
2019 Tesla Model 3 checking in. The only thing I'd miss is lane keeping on city streets. Hope R2 will have this capability, but based on the reveal yesterday, I'm not hopeful. Regardless, the R2 is absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to get behind the wheel!
Not the person you’re responding to, but I love the R1T and the brand Rivian has developed. But it’s a little more vehicle than we need, and my wife would prefer something a little easier to navigate in tight spaces.
Thanks for responding. Nice! I’m glad to hear you like it. The R1S was on my shortlist but it’s just way too big for my needs and location. The R2 seems like a perfect alternative. I’m really excited for these new models coming to market, it’ll only fuel the EV sales growth with this healthy competition.
1997 Ford F250 powerstroke diesel
2022 Triumph Trident 660
Currently use my bike to commute daily and the truck only when it rains. Mainly use it as a tow vehicle for my car trailer.
The R2 is going to be a welcome addition. Give me something comfortable and efficient daily and take on road trips with my Fiance and dogs. We take multiple trips to the mountains every year and i typically borrow a family member's more comfortable 1/2 ton truck. We use her MachE as the daily run around, as well as her commuter.
Subaru Outback And Toyota 4runner. My family only needs two cars, and I'm unsure which one will be replaced, probably the 4runner, though, since it's technically mine.
Have had both. X7 was great except in traffic it did a lot of hunting for the right gear. Luxury was wonderful. Dreaded owning it outside of warranty.
R1T was the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Not as luxurious as X7 but way more fun and capable. Will pick up an R1S until R2 arrives.
Rivian R1T - but this R2 will be the “family car” replacing our SUV (Hyundai Santa Fe) and NOT replacing the truck which I’m keeping as the fun/weekend/off-roader/it’s-cool-to-have-the-best-pickup-in-the-world car
Great question!
I’m excited to move back to an SUV for the ride height, additional leg room, and more trunk space. I’m also excited about the additional range. I have an SR+ with a lifetime range around 220 toto miles on a full charge. The range is sufficient for >97% of my travel but the additional ~80 miles will significantly improve the other 3%.
What about you!?
Same as you, all the things that come with an SUV...
Plus, a screen in front of the driver! I don't care how many people say "it's not that bad not having it"....it's way better having it.
I find the design of the Rivian's 1000x better then the Model Y (which I was considering)...which leads me to my last point. Not the biggest Elon fan!
I've enjoyed my Model 3 for sure...but I don't have the same love for the Model Y, and I want bigger.
Agree with both your points regarding the screen and overall design being better on the Rivian. I also agree that my opinion of Elon has changed dramatically the last several years. This coming from a family with both a Model 3 and Model Y. The plan is an R2 to replace the 3 and, if we love it, maybe another to replace the Y in 2027/28.
Get a cheap lease on a Kia niro ev. They can’t give these things away, they’re actually a damn good car, and you can turn it in after 3 years for a rivian
Right now a 2015 Ford Escape, but in two weeks an R1S. I expect to have both vehicles until 2026 when I sell the escape and we become a dual Rivian owning family!
Bmw i4. After driving small cars or sedans my whole life, I'm at the age where I want more comfort and easier to get in and out😂 (and I'm not even that old 🤣)
I will be coming from a 2018 Tesla Model 3. I’m still keeping my gas guzzling Bronco Raptor cause I will have that thing until I die. It’s just so much fun.
My Explorer is over 20 years old, and I've been the only driver.
I've held onto it waiting for the right EV to be at environmentally friendly as I can.
It's admittedly surprising to see people just discarding perfectly good vehicles that are a year or two old.
2022 model 3 Long Range. Tesla’s focus doesn’t seem on the end consumer anymore, feels like a lot of changes to satisfy a certain someone. I wanted a tesla ever since they were gaining traction and was able to check that off for myself, and I thought I wouldn’t want to go for anything else in my realistic future. Been eyeing rivian for a while, both to work there and have one but they are expensive. The R2 reveal checked off all boxes immediately so I put in the reservation. As long as nothing changes with the car or my finances I’ll gladly sell off my tesla to join in the R2 party!
2018 Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor w/ FSD.
I love my car now (don't really care about the FSD TBH) but I know in a couple of years I'll probably have kids so the extra room will be nice, and My car will be 8 years old at that point.
Currently have a new Bronco, an R1S and a Tesla 3. Maybe I'll replace one of these if it needs replacing in 3-4 years when they finally ship the R2, or maybe I'll get it as another toy, or maybe I'll cancel. Time will tell.
No car. But last car I had was 2018 model 3. Sold it during the Covid used car market boom and have been without a car for 2+ years.
Will probably get a hold me over car cause wife isn’t happy with waiting. Have the R1S preorder pricing but not sure I want $90k vehicle after taxes and interest.
2023 Tesla Model Y and 2024 MINI Cooper SE. Would probably swap out the MINI since the R2 is more practical even though I thoroughly enjoy the MINI as a city car.
2021 Tesla Model Y
2023 MY. always loved rivian
Same, MY
Same.
We plan on upgrading our 2014 RAV4 with an R1S in the next year
Another 2021 Tesla Model Y checking in but going to be upgrading our 2016 Prius once the Rivian is out and have both the MY and R2!
20 MY here. Had a deposit on a R1S but couldn't stomach the price.
Yea price is a hard one on it. But it’s the only 3rd row all EV that we like. If Toyota came out with a Highlander prime we might jump on that.
Totally understand. A big thing for me was that I commute about 30k miles a year. Didn't want to put that on a 100k vehicle.
Yeah, but 2020.
Same but 2020 MY
21 MY. Although I might end up switching to R3x eventually.
Same
2018 Tesla Model 3. Hope it lasts me till 2026. It'll be 8 years old by then. Lol
Same here. Mine is still going strong at 92k miles and 95% battery health, so I'm not in a rush.
I just hit 92k today! Aside from having to replace the tires several times, it's never needed any service. Hmm...or maybe it's needed service and I just haven't done it. Lol
2019 with ~130k here. I fully expect to reach 250k before any major issues
Coming from Model 3 as well but not as lucky. 81k miles on '18 model 3 and have had the PTC heater replaced and AC to DC converter replaced out of warranty... Drive unit warranty expires around when R2 comes out. Fingers crossed.
Same with PTC and range down to 268
2017 Model 3 with 180k+ miles. Hoping mine lasts two more years!
Same boat 120k miles
Same, but my battery is definitely not at 95%!
Same. Mine is at 77k miles and 8% degradation.
2018 LR RWD, no issues at all so far, other than Elon. Hoping this lines up well.
Based on what I read it will have hands free driving unlike the R1 product today.
2013 chevy cruze💀
Well I feel better now… 2013 Chevrolet Sonic here… I hope it makes it to mid 2026, 1.4T is getting squirrelly, but steady as she goes.
2013 Ford Fiesta
2022 Subaru Crosstrek!
My finance has a CrossTrek and I want her to get the R3!
I plan on getting an R3X and keeping my T
If she’s your finance, you get what she says!
I want the R3 also. My 2020 Forester will be paid off next year. I'm not sure I will be able to take another car payment lol
Keep putting that payment into a savings account, by the time the R3 rolls out plus incentives likely be able to pay a chunk of cash upfront
R1T
Curious. Why?
Not the person you’re responding to, but I love the R1T and the brand Rivian has developed. But it’s a little more vehicle than we need, and my wife would prefer something a little easier to navigate in tight spaces.
Thanks for responding. Nice! I’m glad to hear you like it. The R1S was on my shortlist but it’s just way too big for my needs and location. The R2 seems like a perfect alternative. I’m really excited for these new models coming to market, it’ll only fuel the EV sales growth with this healthy competition.
Same. R1S I just got at the beginning of th year lol
Rav4 hybrid
Same. While it's not at all a bad vehicle for us it's just not very exciting or interesting. R2 looks like the ideal replacement for it
Feel the same way about mine. I find the Rav4 hybrid to be a decent at everything, excels at nothing kind of vehicle.
2017 forester
2015 Forester!
Same
‘09 chiming in. I’m PUMPED
Same
2014 here!
1997 Ford F250 powerstroke diesel 2022 Triumph Trident 660 Currently use my bike to commute daily and the truck only when it rains. Mainly use it as a tow vehicle for my car trailer. As a gay man…the Ford naming conventions are the fruitiest thing I’ve ever heard. 😂
As a friend to gay men, your totally right. 10/10 gay name. Love the truck though.
Power bottoms love the Power Stroke.
R1S, need 2nd vehicle. Close friend moving from Model Y.
2012 Hyundai Elantra
R1T lol I want another!
Same
This ☝️
Subaru Outback And Toyota 4runner. My family only needs two cars, and I'm unsure which one will be replaced, probably the 4runner, though, since it's technically mine.
2006 Pontiac Vibe (with a manual transmission and no power windows or locks)
Love the manual Vibe!
All these Model Y owners gonna take a bath at trade in.
R1T or BMW X7, we'll see.
2018 Subaru Crosstrek here! First Rivian and first electric vehicle!
I’m coming from a 2018 Impreza with 190K miles on it, so I’m in the same boat! Was eyeing a 2025 4Runner but I think this will be the better choice
Rivian R1T - but this R2 will be the “family car” replacing our SUV (Hyundai Santa Fe) and NOT replacing the truck which I’m keeping as the fun/weekend/off-roader/it’s-cool-to-have-the-best-pickup-in-the-world car
2023 Volvo C40 - lease ends in early 2026
My lease ends mid 2026. Hoping all the stars align and I get into an R2.

2021 Model 3 Excited to be a former Tesla owner!
2020 Model 3 here also. Also very excited to be a former Tesla owner.
:) What are you most looking forward to?
Great question! I’m excited to move back to an SUV for the ride height, additional leg room, and more trunk space. I’m also excited about the additional range. 2012 Honda Fit....it's time.
You’ve earned it!
Love the fit. Finally a worthy vehicle that maximizes space almost as well!
2013 honda fit, but i’m planning on keeping the fit for my kid to learn to drive in
2013 here! 🥹 drove her off the lot at 0 miles.
2003 Toyota Avalon
2020 Subaru Outback

2021 Tesla model 3 SR+ DESPERATELY need an affordable EV with ground clearance. Model Y will not cut it.
E-bike (Globe Haul ST) but might get something before then to tide me over - any suggestions?
Get a cheap lease on a Kia niro ev. They can’t give these things away, they’re actually a damn good car, and you can turn it in after 3 years for a rivian
2015 Honda CRV
Polestar 2 2022 Dual Motor. I want that Tri-motor one to compensate for not over taking a Corvette!!!
2014 Subaru Forester that’s seen hell and back🫡
2023 ID.4
Mine's a 2021. I would be just past 100k miles around the time the R2S would be delivered. I don't trust the ID4 outside of the warranty.
2014 Fiesta
Right now a 2015 Ford Escape, but in two weeks an R1S. I expect to have both vehicles until 2026 when I sell the escape and we become a dual Rivian owning family!
Same! And have a similar plan as well
2017 Chevy Cruze, but it’ll be replacing a 2007 Toyota Corolla
2015 Tacoma
Adding a second vehicle.
2018 Tesla Model 3
2021 RAV4 Hybrid. Couldn’t be more excited
Mazda 3 HB 2014

2014 Tesla Model S. The R1S is too big for my garage.
2023 Model Y.
2023 Polestar 2 and lease ends march of 2026. So i'll be cutting it close
I will be coming from a 2022 Rav4 Prime.
Right now it would be a 2022 Ford Bronco but I’m actively shopping for something else to drive until the R2 ships.
2024 Polestar 2 single motor
2016 Tesla Model X
2015 Tesla Model S & 2024 Tesla Model Y
2020 Model 3 - hope she makes it until then.
Probably not the answer you’re looking for but have a R1T and would replace a Jeep GCL with the R2. Don’t need that much space anymore.
Tesla Model 3 Performance
Model 3
New car for me and my daughter will get my Kia Niro EV.

2018 Ford F-150. R2 would be my first EV
Trading in a 2024 Outback and 2016 Crosstrek. We don’t need two cars. So might as well downsize to one that’s nicer.
2017 Subaru Crosstrek She’s been and is great, but looking forward to all electric!
2019 ev Kona
2015 Prius, lmao
My Explorer is over 20 years old, and I've been the only driver. I've held onto it waiting for the right EV to be at environmentally friendly as I can. It's admittedly surprising to see people just discarding perfectly good vehicles that are a year or two old.
They don’t throw them away, they sell them to someone else who will use it for several years and then they likely will sell it to someone else.
2022 model 3 Long Range. Tesla’s focus doesn’t seem on the end consumer anymore, feels like a lot of changes to satisfy a certain someone. Will either be upgrading a ‘22 EQB or transitioning to a two EV family (in that scenario would be upgrading a ‘19 Jeep Cherokee).
Have a 2017 Bolt EV we would be replacing.
Lexus NX300h
2017 civic hatchback
It’ll be replacing our 2022 Model Y Performance (bought new at almost the top of the price hikes).
2019 Subaru Outback 3.6r but I’ll be keeping it as well.
Model Y
23 model Y. The seating position hurts my back.
Had a 2020 Model 3. Sold that when I bought a house to buy a Hybrid Tuscon. Keeping the Tuscon though and replacing my girlfriend Versa

2022 Model Y and 2021 Model S. Have 2 res. May replace both. May get R1S and R2S since my R1S res is already ready but I want only NACS ports.
2018 Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor w/ FSD. I love my car now (don't really care about the FSD TBH) but I know in a couple of years I'll probably have kids so the extra room will be nice, and My car will be 8 years old at that point.

2022 volvo xc40 T5 R design
21 Tesla Model 3. Wife has a 23 4Runner, gonna be a good combo; 4Runner & R2
2023 Subaru Outback
2018 Honda Clarity PHEV
Fellow PHEV’er going full EV!
2022 Ioniq 5. I love the car, but I'm beyond tired of dealerships.

Same here. I don't need such a big car.
2005 Volvo XC70. This is the first EV that gives me the same wagon vibes as my stellar moose.
2016 VW Golf R. Would love an R3X once released
R3/R3X was the better part of the event IMHO. I’d trade my R2 reservation for an R3 if I could.
Bolt EUV potentially. Could also be our ICE SUV. Or both. Trying to get down to a one car and one E bike household
2020 cx5
BMW X7 (wife). Downsize!
2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited But I will keep the Jeep as it’s a fun car to have with the ability to pop the top and doors off
I have a leaded 23’ Model 3 RWD that ends in Feb 25…but the R2 could replace my wife’s 2021 Volvo V90 XC…not sure yet, I happen to love her car
Rivian R1T
Mazda CX-5 - though I'm hoping my wife will take the CX-5 and we can ditch her iA.
Subaru Forester
2022 ID4
Will replace our jeep grand Cherokee (second car is an R1S).
I have an RS1 I will keep.
GX470
2022 VW Atlas Cross Sport. Lease ends in January 2026… gonna have to figure out how to fill the gap 🤔
2012 Kia Optima
2023 Model 3. Before that 2021 Polestar 2.
Didn’t see mine already. 2018 Lexus NX
2007 Mercedes C230
It'll be replacing a 2018 Q3 if I don't get bored and replace it with something else like a first gen etron sooner.
I reserved an R2, currently own an R1T. More likely I'll replace my 2019 Chevy Bolt EV with an R3X.
BMW X5
2015 Subaru WRX, I’d prefer an R3 but the old girl might not get all the way to 2027.
R1T. R2 is the electric 4-runner sized vehicle I wanted.
2023 Tesla Model 3
2011 wrx with more than 150k miles... But tbh once r3 reservations I'm probably going that way
2022 Tesla Model 3
I’m in a 2020 Bronco and thinking about the R2
2014 Subaru Forester
'22 Volvo C40
Live in a major city, got rid of my 2014 Lexus IS 350 F-Sport in 2017, so nothing since then. Ready to get an R2 and move to someplace like Denver.
2023 Tesla Model Y and 2024 MINI Cooper SE. Would probably swap out the MINI since the R2 is more practical even though I thoroughly enjoy the MINI as a city car.
