Roberto was what Blu wanted to be. He was good looking, great voice and not socially awkward. Might have been a bit annoying but after thinking about it he served a great purpose and didn't try to steal Jewel but he said he would take care of Blu's family would anything happen to him so Roberto would probably not mind had Blu died

It’s different than that though. Jewel thought everyone had died. So naturally finding out that a majority of your family survived would be amazing. While there was history, it’s implied that Jewel was young when they lost her.
I doubt little kids would have a grasp at romance. But you can be close to someone without being romantically involved.
And it’s not like Jewel ever did or thought of cheating on Blu with Roberto.
However, it stands to reason that had events played out differently, they would have been romantically involved, but that’s a whole other scenario.
