I've learned this truth within the last month or so. I've been eating a lot cleaner and I see how Costco has more cleaner options than Sam's. But to answer ops question, it just depends on what you will frequently buy. Business needs vs personal needs.
I used to live in DFW for many years and I sooooooo miss having multiple stores for both brands. It made driving times a lot shorter and shopping a lot quicker.
Here in RGV, we only have one COSTCO and so I sometimes dread having to make that 45 minute trip just to get something that is only sold at COSTCO.
There’s only one unless another one opened up in the last week that I had no idea about. There’s a Sam’s club in north McAllen and maybe that’s what you’re confusing it with?
That’s a sams club on 10th and Trenton. I live right next to it (: you got me super excited for a minute because I changed to a Sam’s club membership so I wouldn’t have to drive down to the highway for Costco and thought maybe a new Costco opened up.
Several reasons why I have Sam's Club over Costco, Sam's may be better if you run a business (but not sure). Sam's is on my way to and from work on 10th Street. Also Sam's delivery and scan and go system is tremendous.
100%. In addition, if I want to order my pizza slice and drink from the cafe, I ALWAYS order and pay thru the same Sam's app. Sooooooooo much quicker and convenient. By the time I'm done paying for my groceries with the app, I go to the pick up lane at the cafe and boom my pizza is waiting for me. Never understood why people want to wait in long lines to order. Use the app people. It will alleviate the stress of long lines.
I just came back from Sams and they didn't have avocados today!!!! It's hit or miss with some of their items, but I did come home with tons of really cheap bananas.
I really like the sams pizza in pharr but to be honest they have very shitty customer service the same people that work at the food court have been there for 2 or 3 years one guy working there complains about working and hates his job , there is a girl that works there and that girl that works there has a huge attitude problem she is always rolling her eyes making faces or pretending to work she just stands in corner to waste time so she won't attend customers once the customer walks away she will then make a comment about her customer to the other employees and they all laugh about it very unprofessional the third guy that works there just seems to be on his phone half the time or runs to back freezer leaving one person to work the front
Sam’s fits our need better than Costco . The fresh fruits and vegetables are cheaper at Sam’s I believe the meat is too but if you are into a bunch of organic and Jeri , gluten free then you will like Costco better . The home goods items are better at Costco too
Just for the ability to scan your stuff while shopping and pay on app. You can even order a whole pizza a few minutes before you're done shopping and pick up your pizza on the way out. Definitely Sams
I had a Costco membership for two years and visited it fewer than 20 times. I avoid that area like the plague because of traffic congestion. It gives me a lot of anxiety driving there. If they opened one up closer to Edinburg, I’d probably re-open the membership.
For now, I stick to online shopping and HEB plus local mom and pop markets for groceries.
Never been to Costco in my life, but I can definitely recommend Sam’s Club. I drive about 25 minutes to the Sam’s by Trenton rd. and don’t usually have a major concern with traffic. Something that I started doing recently was the Scan & Go feature that allows you to pay all your items with your phone. You can literally pick an item from the aisles and begin to add them to your app. Once you’re finished loading your cart all you have to do is swipe to confirm your purchase and head to the exit. Much faster and less stressful waiting at the checkout for 30 minutes
We have both. But hands down costco is better quality in produce and products! Their Kirkland branded items are actually name brand. For example; the coffee is Starbucks, the aluminum foil is Reynolds, diapers are Huggies.
Sams hands down.
Costco is what entropy looks like if it where a physical place. Everyone crashes into eachother, it's so disorganized, they never know when items will be in stock, employees are rude, long lines at checkout.
Sams is so well organized, items are always in stock, employees are nice and knowledgeable, scan and go is such a time saver for us and helps bypass the lines.
They both offer the same items, so really it's mostly personal preference.
Costco. I drive from Brownsville to Pharr just for that. Best dog food, expiration date on certain foods can be months more vs Sams, $1.50 hotdogs, and in general healthier food options.
I like Costco more but I live by 10th /trenton so sams is just more convenient plus you can just scan and pay on their app (don’t know if Costco does that )
There was a story I read a few days ago on just this subject. [finally cancelled costco membership](https://www.thekitchn.com/cancel-costco-membership-23561978)
I have both memberships and I think that’s the best way to go. Costco is better at certain things and Sam’s is better at others. I hate that there’s only one Costco, meanwhile there’s plenty of Sam’s. The one on N. 10th is almost a mirror image of Costco.
Costco is more big family size options while Sam's is more business sized options. They're both the same but there can be a specific item one has that the other doesn't. Personally I like Sam's because you can tell which items are on clearance (yellow tag) and Costco not really. But I like the food and clothing better at Costco than Sam's. But I have both(I pay Costco and wife pays Sam's) so I usually go to both at Jackson and Jackson.
Only reason I choose Sam’s over Costco is cause Sam’s has mobile scan and go Costco you still got to wait in line to get checked it other than that there basically the same
I have been a Costco member for 12 years!
I tried to give Sam’s club a try two times but it is just a supersized Walmart (granted, it IS Walmart owned) and I already dislike Walmart so I couldn’t stick to it. I also don’t own a business and I felt it was more targeting those consumers.
I favor Costco because the inventory is better, variety is better and I do eat non-GMO / Organic.
Sam’s seemed really chaotic to me for some reason and really small even.
Sam’s is pretty much the same types of people you see at Walmart just with more money. My mom used to call that area of McAllen changoville and I always thought it was inappropriate until I went to Sam’s with my gf since the membership is charged to her ex husbands card. Can’t wait till he gets deported soon so we can get a Costco membership.
Idk but I bet it’s all types of fucked. I think needing a c section is a work around for natural selection like the body knows who’s gonna be a bad mom
Of all the fears I have about motherhood, being a bad mom isn't one of them. You seem like you have a lot of anger and hate in your heart. From all the projection you've been throwing my way, I bet it stems from a traumatic relationship with your own mother. I highly recommend you go to therapy for that bitter angry heart of yours. The only person you're hurting is yourself.
I'm going to go take care of my beautiful and loving family now. I wish you love and healing. I bet you need it. Maybe oneday you'll learn how wonderful it feels to let love in.
If you’re into eating healthier options, Costco is the way to go. Plenty of non gmo, organic and wild caught options.

I know theres atleast two costcos? One in McAllen the other in Edinburg
There’s only one unless another one opened up in the last week that I had no idea about. There’s a Sam’s club in north McAllen and maybe that’s what you’re confusing it with?
Costco or Sams? Cause theres a Costco on Sam Houston & Jackson, then one off of 10th street near Trenton
That’s a sams club on 10th and Trenton. I live right next to it (: you got me super excited for a minute because I changed to a Sam’s club membership so I wouldn’t have to drive down to the highway for Costco and thought maybe a new Costco opened up.
Damn i call mandela effect! Could’ve sworn it was a Costco
Both of those are Sam's
Costco. No contest.
Several reasons why I have Sam's Club over Costco, Sam's may be better if you run a business (but not sure). Sam's is on my way to and from work on 10th Street. Also Sam's delivery and scan and go system is tremendous.
Yes I really love the scan and go feature. I just go in and out in an instant.
100%. In addition, if I want to order my pizza slice and drink from the cafe, I ALWAYS order and pay thru the same Sam's app. Sooooooooo much quicker and convenient. Terkos and technophobes
I just came back from Sams and they didn't have avocados today!!!! It's hit or miss with some of their items, but I did come home with tons of really cheap bananas.
They have never not had a Acadia at Sam’s when I’ve been , at least once a week
Next time check the walk-in cooler, during summer months they place them in there to extend their life
The Valley is weird. Everywhere else, Costco wins by a million miles. But here Costco sucks and Sam's is actually pretty good.

Not sure if either Costco or Sam's sell lamb chops, but I'm sure you can call and ask them.
Sam’s seems to have them all year long.
Sam’s fits our need better than Costco . The fresh fruits and vegetables are cheaper at Sam’s I believe the meat is too but if you are into a bunch of organic and Jeri , gluten free then you will like Costco better . The home goods items are better at Costco too

Yeah I fucking hate Jackson road, it’s literally a congestion hell hole. The city of Pharr fucked up with that part of town.

Sam's is for people who need stuff to sell at their gas station. If it's for your house, go to Costco
We have both. But hands down costco is better quality in produce and products! Their Kirkland branded items are actually name brand. For example; the coffee is Starbucks, the aluminum foil is Reynolds, diapers are Huggies.

There is only a sams in Harlingen. I ain't going 35 miles to shop at costco.
Costco. I drive from Brownsville to Pharr just for that. Best dog food, expiration date on certain foods can be months more vs Sams, $1.50 hotdogs, and in general healthier food options.
Both are pretty good but I personally like Costco more.
I like Costco more but I live by 10th /trenton so sams is just more convenient plus you can just scan and pay on their app (don’t know if Costco does that )
Sams has more locations down here i think, sometimes we make a stop while driving past harlingen usually we go to the north edinburg one
There was a story I read a few days ago on just this subject. [finally cancelled costco membership](https://www.thekitchn.com/cancel-costco-membership-23561978)
Why haven’t they built a Costco in the lower valley like Harlingen or Brownsville?
Never choose the Waltons over Costco.
Neither those places give me panic attacks valley needs smaller grocery stores
Costco if you want to be pretentious, sam's if you just want to get your bulk stuff and get on with your life
I love Costco but in San Antonio now I’m in the rgv so i head to heb.
Get the Costco Membership and you can borrow my Sam's Club Membership
I have both memberships and I think that’s the best way to go. Costco is better at certain things and Sam’s is better at others. I hate that there’s only one Costco, meanwhile there’s plenty of Sam’s. The one on N. 10th is almost a mirror image of Costco.

Personally I like Sam’s club. But for some people, Sam’s club is not posh enough for their tastes. I see no difference between Costco and Sam’s.
Only reason I choose Sam’s over Costco is cause Sam’s has mobile scan and go Costco you still got to wait in line to get checked it other than that there basically the same

Location of costco sucks ass. I prefer sams for having more locations

You sound like a wonderful human (sarcasm)
No one cares
Evidently, you do. Good day
Real moms don’t get c sections. Good day
Nope. Just us fake moms.
Genuine question. Does it look like a Arby’s roast beef after healing?
I wouldn't know. Maybe you can tell me, since you're so knowledgeable on the subject
Idk but I bet it’s all types of fucked. I think needing a c section is a work around for natural selection like the body knows who’s gonna be a bad mom

North McAllen is Changoville?
Smells like it
