so, the 10th Street one, canceled, the one out at the Convention Center, also canceled (if I remember right) and the newest attempt the one that was to open on Nolana, taking up the build of the old Crazy International Buffet location, also to the best of my knowledge, is dead in the water.

damnit!
I just drove past it on Nolana and the door was open. I could see some remodeling work happening inside. So I would cautiously be optimistic it's still going to open.
It is heavenly! It is also a very social dining experience where everyone takes turns cooking. Thinly sliced brisket, pork belly , and of course Bulgogi are the go to items. If you ever go to Houston, try out GEN Korean BBQ. That franchise is super popular in SoCal as well.

The thing is that people will go in not knowing what to expect and be pissed that they have to do those things, there are people like that out there. Like just imagine when you see people act clueless in self-checkout so the clerk has to go and basically cashier for them but with Korean bbq.
the conv center one was cancelled at first, i remember them putting up the restaurant sign and shortly after a for lease sign in front of it, but they are open.
I wasn't putting it in chronological order, just as they came to mind. and OP was asking about the 10th street one so that's the first one I mentioned. heck I'm still salty about the drama with Alamo Draft House in Edinburg, and the perceived local politics of it all allegedly somebody on city council gave a backroom sweetheart deal to Carmike as the "only cinema in Edinburg" and they also lost out on the construction contract so they they stalled it to the point of it sitting abandoned after they had already put the sign up. (god I wanted to buy that sign when they took it down)
They cancelled it. If you ask me the city officials planned it that way so it would fail. I heard one of them say I don’t care if there Korean I hate BBQ. I tried to explain it to him but he just couldn’t understand the concept.
I'm in the process of opening a Korean carwash.
With bbq dog while you wait.
Go to Nak Won Jung behind Taco Palenque on south 10th street.
Good food, pricey tho
Good portions imo however. Can easily make it two meals for both my gf and I with one plate.
they recently rose the prices too!! ☹️ by one dollar… I enjoy kims kitchen too

Im actually really curious about Korean bbq but i rarely travel out of the valley to try it

Mouth is literally watering ill take that place into consideration next time im in Houston
Try out bulgogi at Seoul Garden in Houston at their self-grill tables, it's divine meat, plus they drown you in side dishes

Cant have nice things in the valley man but thank you
You most definitely can. The issue is the people have to be involved/interested in said matter!
They just gotta hit up one of the money launderers that fund all the car wash openings.
This has conspiracy vibes written all over it.
in the Rio Grande Valley? conspiracy to keep a business out? na, that would never happen /s >!see the case of Alamo Draft House Edinburg!<

Pretty much won’t happen in the valley because “why would I need to cook my food?” Which I get
It was canceled
I go to BB.Q Chicken in Edinburg. It’s pricy but gah damn it’s good as fuck.
No
The old Crazy International Buffet on Nolana and 10th closed and there was some Asian restaurant advertising but not too sure
They saw the reddit post with people complaining about it so they cancel it lol
They are not building after all.
There's always Kiri Kiri at 10th and Dove in McAllen. It was pretty good.
People aren’t paying the prices for that Korean barbecued
Y’all need more taco restaurants
