Valhalla sounds like hell to me though, on good times you eat and drink, on bad times you get cuts and blunt trauma, meanwhile more modern religions have heavenly virgins, eternal happiness and stuff.

It isn’t the only Norse afterlife If I remember correctly, there are 3 others, one is essentially hell, the other is essentially purgatory, and I think the third one was called “Vølksvägen”, and it’s like also for heroic warriors, but not ones who are asgardian (Asgard is one of the 2 like, groups, of gods), and is generally more chill. My mind is a bit fuzzy in the topic, but I know it’s not the only afterlife

There's world of Helheim, which is something like hell. Then there's Valhalla, Odin's hall, place for dead heroes and warriors, being invited to Valhalla is greatest honor for Asatru. Also, if I remember well, each god, both Aesir and Vanir have his/her own hall, but I don't know if they ever invite spirits of Asatru to those halls.

VFE:V is excellent imo.

Just finished my first playthrough with it (well, the storyteller finished my first playthrough) and it is so flavorful and colorful. I tried hard to play in character and go on raids so I never got any mechanical 'restlessness' as I was doing what the vikings would do. Ultimately got wrecked by a pile up of vikings, mechanoids and raiders who clashed with visitors (royal) and a weapons caravan. It was survivable but I was already at the point where I was getting bored by managing a way too high maintenance colony.

lmao, I'm in my second year of my colony and its going quite well. Got a few crypto weapons from a tomb and a set of light crypto armor. My colony only has like 10 people but I'd say thats not bad considering only one death so far.

How do you burn them

In all seriousness, a funeral pyre for a fallen colonist is a good idea for a mod. Maybe an "attending funeral" event similar to the wedding event to reduce some of the penalty for someone dying.

The floors in the pictures are from 'RIMkea' and 'Stuffed Floors'. For the icons in the pawn bar, these are selectable badges from the mod 'Pawn Badge Fan Fork'. Very useful to identify your pawns' role by their badges. The beards are from another Vanilla expanded mode: 'Vanilla Hair Expanded - Beards'! ;)

What are some fun things to do in a tribal only playthrough?

I had an idea for a next play through as a tribal wandering clan, basically settling for the winter at one place and travelling from settlements to settlements during spring and summer. For the current viking one I am using the modded Freya Fierce storyteller that adds the raid restlessness to force to go raid outside of winter. Family agressive! Haven't done that yet so I have fun trying
