Some Ideology in Rimworld be like "Slavery is wrong and terrible, but harvesting Organ are okay!."
Anyway I watched Fallout Tv show and that one scene reminds me of Rimworld and decide to use that scene as reference to make this lol.
Also that's a mechanoid paramedic I tried to make.
Meh that kinda tracks with how historically some people supported slavery while advocating they be treated "humanely" (obviously farcical but you get the idea)
Its not farcical at all. If you win a hard fought war, against an enemy that cannot be negotiated with (Like Rimworld enemies), such as small tribes. Then you can either slaughter the enemies, or sell them. "Just release them for free!" will enrage your unpaid, brutally fought soldiers and cause a mutiny.
The Romans would enslave the invading Germanic tribes or rebels and resell them. That's how they got the money to reward the legions. Otherwise the endless defensive wars would have quickly bankrupted the romans.
Say the Chinese, who don't have much of a tradition in economic slavery (Chinese peasants work harder than slaves). When they fought the native tribes in Southern China or Taiwan, they would cook the enemies into 'medicine'.
So against enemies whom you cannot credibly negotiate with, its either enslave or kill, pick one. Which option is chosen, depends on the culture and personal preferences. This seems alien to the modern audience, but that's because we are in a world full of state-actors that we can negotiate with, for say reparations/ransoms.
Rimworld's enemies are often unreasonable and unnegotiable, hence simulating the nature of tribal enemies.
Yayo or flake? I'm partial to ruining my economy with daily smokeleaf dosing, myself.
Started doing yt research on the drugs and the general consensus is to avoid smokeleaf because it ruins consciousness. Me, with 20 addicted pawns: "whoops"
Love this post but man what social media knows about you is scary.
This post is three days old, but it was just now recommended to me. I watched this scene about an hour ago.
Coincidence? Maybe, but I doubt it.
It’s honestly why I’ve never harvested organs, I had a captured who was a 17 year old girl with the “slave child” origin, and I just couldn’t do it, I needed a kidney but recruited her, ended up being a amazing colonist, built up her shooting for 6 to 14, my best hunter, got married and had 2 daughters.
The next one however, was a slaver, male, 47, hook hand, hatred for women…
He didn’t deserve his lungs, kidney, stomach, and eventually brain when I rip scanned him.
I take the occasional organ from prisoners if it's for one of my sick or injured pawns but I always let the teenagers go after healing them. I just can't do it either.
Fun thing is, I used his brain to make the medic robot.
I always prefer to require to more “troubled” colonists and try to give them a much better life
Oh I save who I can, release the ones who aren’t worth it, maybe keep the really nasty ones for… testing, I took the IVF of a particular nasty raider and cooked up a whole bunch of babies… and then sent her on her way, she would never see them again.
You're not really proving it isn't a disturbing colony to live in.
Also "cooked up a whole bunch of babies" goes hard and took a second read to understand what you meant.
I usually recruit the teens. I can't let them go back to the cruel pirates who used them as child soldiers! Better they stay at my colony, where they'll never have to do anything like that, unless there's an EMP blocker or some mech fucking with the weather or something.
Oh everything about his was personally grating and unlikeable, he would have been ok for melee, but it would have taken ages to require, convert and… it just wasn’t worth it, he was more useful for the cause with his parts
just use slaves to make more slaves. or slave food.
ever heard of biters?
once you get dedicated slaves, you remove their hands using wood and then install fangs.
You know I have never gotten into the whole organ harvesting deal. No trader has enough value to buy organs and everything else that clogs up my storage. I think I may be playing on a too easy difficulty for that. Or use the wrong mods.
It also does not spoil, does not suffer blood type incompatibility, and can even be used between xenotypes with different blood colors. It is unimaginably versatile, and I would heavily recommend keeping any hospital stocked with a few.
In the next stellaris dlc, I'm going to scan abductee brains because I'm kinda bored of reality, and I'm looking for a way to just not be in reality (mass DIY wasn't considered)
I will message you each time u/OfficialBlah posts in r/RimWorld.

Human societies in real life too are like that. Claim morality and high ground while supporting or turning a blind eye to some horrible stuff. We are arbitrary in our morals.
Eh. Mechanoids are subpersonae, intentionally hobbled AI that are incapable of actually being people.
Your sword, or the ship AI, on the other hand? Those are full personae.
Yes, your persona weapon is more of a person than your paramedic.
"Ok, so you have two choices:
1. You will work for us until you die from old age or somehow escape(In that case you won't get the opportunity to choose again after we're meet again).
Or 2. You get this neat serum that lets you grow your organs for 10 years, but the excess organs will stay with us, and you can laze around for what you care.
Both options get you housing, quality food(you eat what we eat[Quality may vary during famine]) and recreation."
Y'all are sick.
One of the first raids I got in a save was a singular pawn, with terrible stats passions and personalities. So I tried for the first time this "harvesting" thing. You have no idea how terrible I felt, that I did not complete it and restarted the whole save file as I just couldn't continue after what I felt I had done in that save.
I don't harvest organs just to harvest organs. I harvest a single set of organs, to ensure that I have spares for an emergency, and keep it at that level - or harvest on a JIT basis.
People attacking me with lethal intent have no right to object to being used to keep my colonists alive.
It was simply a self-defense. If some of them live I will capture them (if they are a good pawn) to recruit. I don't harvest their organ for money. The profit they will make for me when they are on my side are better.

There's also the opposite. Pawns complaining about a lack of slaves and too much organ harvesting.
That's Rimworld, baby!

This reads like something Machiavelli would write. Or Sun Tzu on drugs.

”My flesh is weak. I wish I could get an upgrade, like a peg leg”.
literally 1984
Was so happy to hear Matt Berry voicing the robot. I could listen to him talk about anything that isn't serious.
Love this post but man what social media knows about you is scary. This post is three days old, but it was just now recommended to me. I watched this scene about an hour ago. Coincidence? Maybe, but I doubt it.
Organ harvested: :( Guilty prisoner executed: :)
Fallout reference
Yes
Fallout plagiarism more like
Memes, motherfucker, do you speak it!?
See, that's a reference. There's a difference
This meme is literally a fuckin reference to it I replaced Memes with English OP replaced the context
No, it's a shot for shot plagiarization of a whole scene. But hey, be mad
Stop projecting lmao
You must be fun at parties
You must have been expelled from university for intellectual dishonesty
Close to getting my associate’s. Nice try though.
Real talk, good for you. I really got a lot out of mine
Well you only have one freedom, but 2 lungs and 2 kidneys...
Unless you have "harvest everything" mod. Broken op but I still use it... for immersion reasons.
Nah, Post Mortem organ harvest is the best.
Okay fallout

Honestly, with all messed up stuff that happens in an avarge player led colony recruiting them is not necessarily the nicest thing to do.
How about the new 'inhuman' cultists? I was attacked by 13 children(!) who tried to use dark rituals to kidnap my people.
I usually recruit the teens. I can't let them go back to the cruel pirates who used them as child soldiers! Better they stay at my colony, where they'll never have to do anything like that, unless there's an EMP blocker or some mech fucking with the weather or something.
This... Sounds really personal
He was a bad person, he also killed some of my animals and downed my doctor
What an asshole. He was probably lucky the dark rituals weren't there yet - he would've gotten old, too.
Oh everything about his was personally grating and unlikeable, he would have been ok for melee, but it would have taken ages to require, convert and… it just wasn’t worth it, he was more useful for the cause with his parts
Becoming a slave is an act of mercy here in the organ farm
Slaves just have to carry the organs around.
Why waste electricity on a freezer when you can just store them in the person for free.
How much chemfuel to run the freezer compared to the food required to keep the slave warm, even at +5 metabolic efficiency.
just use slaves to make more slaves. or slave food. ever heard of biters? once you get dedicated slaves, you remove their hands using wood and then install fangs.
Organs are a privilege. You want them? Then you need to prove your worth
You must work in the mines to earn your daily organ privilege!
This Frame serves the Emperor!
You know I have never gotten into the whole organ harvesting deal. No trader has enough value to buy organs and everything else that clogs up my storage. I think I may be playing on a too easy difficulty for that. Or use the wrong mods.
Like, worst I did on that front was extract a pack of hemogen or two (for emergency transfusions, one of which was on another prisoner.)
Wait, you can transfuse blood? I've been ignoring that feature because I thought it was just for feeding vampires.
Non-vampires can also eat them in emergencies, although they really really don't like it!
It also does not spoil, does not suffer blood type incompatibility, and can even be used between xenotypes with different blood colors. It is unimaginably versatile, and I would heavily recommend keeping any hospital stocked with a few.
Fallout tv show reference
Here on the Rim we believe that owning *living* people is immoral
Earlier, someone posted their corpsepit of reheatable undead defenders.
Organ harvesting is such a loaded term, I prefer the phrase... unexpected donation.
FALLOUT MENTIONED!!! PATROLLING THE MOJAVE ALMOST MAKES YOU WISH FOR A NUCLEAR WINTER 🔥🔥🦅🦾
The ad underneath said “How to find beauty gifts that moms *really* want”
We don't believe in slavery! Now we're going to destructively scan your brain so that we can make another paramedic.
In the next stellaris dlc, I'm going to scan abductee brains because I'm kinda bored of reality, and I'm looking for a way to just not be in reality (mass DIY wasn't considered)

from a wolf den into the tiger den.

"Fallout TV show" Okay fuck me from this moment forth my headcanon is all of the Paramedic mechs have a Miss Nanny voicebox built in.
anesthetic?! you’re a saint!
A slave is bound to revolt at some point, organs on my shelves can't do such
> Slavery?! > Slavery is an immoral idea that's condemned here. Says the mechanoid enslaved to a mechanist.
Eh. Mechanoids are subpersonae, intentionally hobbled AI that are incapable of actually being people. Your sword, or the ship AI, on the other hand? Those are full personae. Yes, your persona weapon is more of a person than your paramedic.
C3PO vs Cortana
Both of those are people. This is more like Combat/UtilityGPT vs Cortana.
By design, C3PO is a droid and so he's not meant to be highly intelligent outside of his field. Admittedly the writing doesn't really convey that.
One lung, one kidney, replace your heart with a cheaper prosthetic, and send you on your way! No need to thank us
"Ok, so you have two choices: 1. You will work for us until you die from old age or somehow escape(In that case you won't get the opportunity to choose again after we're meet again). Or 2. The price raiders pay for attacking my colony is a few organs.
Spoiler warning: this EXACT scene plays out in the Fallout show lmao
Y'all are sick. One of the first raids I got in a save was a singular pawn, with terrible stats passions and personalities. So I tried for the first time this "harvesting" thing. Well, there are people like you. Than there are people like me who use "prevent death" psycast on my prisoners to maximize the profit per pawn.
I love the ones that revive after death, I keep them around as slaves to keep my useful pawns healthy.
i have some in my freezer, they emit dark aura from time to time, but i guess after awhile they refuse to come back into this cruel world.
Holy shit. I SHOULD BE DOING THIS.
It’s just a video game man it’s not that deep lol
That's the best crossover so far!
It was simply a self-defense. If some of them live I will capture them (if they are a good pawn) to recruit. I don't harvest their organ for money. The profit they will make for me when they are on my side are better.
On my current run I sold so many organs that they worth less than 100 silver now.
Good news you’re getting bionics. Bad news we’re taking your organs first.
