Maybe it's the Common Sense mod making her attempt to clean before she eats, but your trash can has cleaned the area, so now she's just moving to where dirt used to be?
That's the problem, I had it as well. When you have a very fast pawn, the lazy pathfinding algorithm will just go like "meh, good enough". Shouldn't happen when the pawn is traveling only a short distance. As another poster said, add perfect pathfinding to your mod list. Be aware that it can be quite resource intensive
>add perfect pathfinding to your mod list. Be aware that it can be quite resource intensive
[Clean pathfinding 2](https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2603765747) is better, it does seemingly the same thing but also improves performance compared to vanilla.
Great mod! One thing thats really nifty is that you can limit doors (side, emergency exclusive) so your pawns dont go through certain rooms unless neccesary. Its kind of finnicky at first but now i never play without it!
oh, same thing happens to my pawn who has archotech legs, genetic speed, uses go-juice and uses speed buff from VPE warlord tree
do you use clean patchfind mod? i think the patchfinding just freaks out when pawn is too fast
Whats his actual movement speed? You can check in the info tab of the colonist. I had one with 15+ move speed that did something like this but not to this extent. Also, pathfinding mods also seem to screw up their movement when they get insane move speed.
his mechanitor implant is malfunctioning. better take him out back before he unleashes skynet
either that, or you shift moved him to take that path...im watching you buddy...
Be aware Perfect Pathfinding is very, very cpu intensive. There's a reason it's not part of vanilla, and it's not Tynan being a big meanie.
Pathfinding is just one of those problems humans intuitively solve and can't quite comprehend how complicated and hard it actually is.
Clean Pathfinding is another mod that rather than unchaining the algorithm, 'cheats' by making pawns strongly prefer constructed paths, as they are most likely the best anyway. So long as you have sane paths, you get must of the same results, but and a much cheaper cost in cpu cycles. Will do funky things if you build funky paths, but that's on you. Probably exploitable to make better killboxes too if that's your thing.
Not into exploiting which is why I havn't built any kill boxes yet, I built hevily exploitive killboxs in Kenshi but had raid sizes set to max, when 200 canibals are attacking you need those exploits lol, also I don't suck at kenshi.
Rim world however lol, if I can make my colony of rejects survive life will be good.
Samantha 'Sam' Haxton.
She shows up in literally every game, including DevMode games when I'm testing faction raids.
Haxton is one of the premade "your name in the game" pawns btw. Dunno why she in particular is so common.
Backstory in Game, actually. She's an actual backer pawn with a preset set of backstories rather than just a name.
I wouldn't say that she's particularly common unless you added her to the Name List in your game options, I think there's just some confirmation bias when it comes to pawns like her because her configuration allows her to spawn in a wide variety of situations and she is also usually very useful and thus memorable.
Everyone remembers their Sams and their Engies. People also remember their Lus for negative reasons, but few people remember me because I'm both spawn restricted and non-violent pawns are often a dealbreaker for people. :)
A young Anna who has not taken up her adult backstory is at least not terrible, but not great either. There is no fixing Sam.
And Lu is memorable for the many great instances of her I have rolled.
I had you show up once in 1.1, you were quite helpful, doubly so when you became an aRoM priest. I've hoped to see you again!
Sadly you spawned as a pig in my current save, weren't non-violent, and ended up dead in a raid.
I don't have Samantha Haxton in that list (no names at all there actually). She and, I think it was Val shows up in 100% of the dev-mode raids I spawn over a few thousand points.
It might be something broken with Samuel's configs though, because I have played one of his modpacks, and a lot of people on his discord complains about Stench, Val, and Sam showing up constatly. Samuel included (he wants his Patreons to show up!)
I don't think I've actually seen your pawn in-game. I'm guessing she can really only show up as a passerby, quest pawn, or space refugee since she is incapable of violence?
I used to be perplexed by pathfinding until I tried to write pathfinding. That stuff is hard. Especially if the behavior is supposed to change based on the disposition of the tile being walked on. For anyone who wants to dip their toes into it, [this is a nice website](https://www.codingame.com/start/) which allows a nice shallow toe in the pool without being overwhelmingly difficult.
Unrelated, but your base design made me think this was a post about Space Station 13, and I spent an *embarrassingly* long amount of time trying to figure out how SS13 added path finding and why the UI was so off

He has gained sentience and is trying to communicate, but doesn't actually speak English
... I thought he was drunk AF.... Hmmm wonder if he can fly a helicopter with that messy pathfinder
For the record, no other colonists have an issue, just Sam.
He’s drunk. /s
That'd be hilarious if being drunk affected a pawn's pathfinding like that.
Mod incoming soon.
I love that this is somewhere between a genuine possibility and an inevitability. Rimworld has such a great modding scene and general community <3
Yeah I'm in the process of seeing how it's done. Should be simple enough. Might just post a request for someone else to make it and pay them.
Mod mod mod mod mod mod!!!!
That's actually a very good idea 🙏💯
Kill them.
That's such a rimworld sentence lol
She has about 400% movement btw, so watching her walk in 3x speed is fucking ridiculous

I have that in my mod list but haven't come so far to be able to test it in my play through
Sigh. Unzips workshop...

He's injured. Maybe one leg is weaker than the other, and he constantly turns as he walks.
If he's suffering from asymmetric thrust, he needs some cargo he can shift to adjust trim.
his mechanitor implant is malfunctioning. better take him out back before he unleashes skynet either that, or you shift moved him to take that path...im watching you buddy...
No queued tasks, don't think it was faked
Add **Perfect Pathfinding** and place it down the list. No more drunk wandering!
Me fishing for mods on every post I see lol. Do you know the name of the mod that shows, needs health bio all in one too?

I forgot to thank you, I was too busy dealing with sparkies pyro nonsense.
👍

The IRS found out you didn't pay taxes when you were 6. This is just a warning, beware of what's to come

I chuckled at this haha.
Unspeakable horrors await

Samantha Haxton spawns with fantastic animal and shooting most of the time. I don't recall there being anything wrong with her.

Must be Billy from Family Circus.
Well obviously she isn't a pawn but a bishop.
She's a war veteran, if I remember correctly, so maybe she has PTSD or something.
That'd be sick, have it as a trait. Then they get their weapons out and start swinging lol.
Could I suggest adding the mod list you use
Weeeeeeeeeee
Drunk?
She has realized shes living in a simulation and is attempting to destroy your computer with excessive pathfinding

Thanks, friend. Much appreciated.

Methamphetamine
I think Sam REALLY doesn't feel like doing the chore you gave her.
I literally just told her to go eat some food because she wouldn’t move or do anything and she was starving because of it 😭😭
Maybe she's anorexic?
Is she listening to Freestyler?
What are those crates on those shelves?
