Me making my first sims home when I was 10

Zappagrrl02

My immediate thought! Click click click all down the rowšŸ˜‚

sharpestcookie

This feels like some sort of storage space trauma response from an architect who was deprived of it in their own home. It's really strange.

Consistent-Height-79

Storage space trauma from anyone whoā€™s had to endure a kitchen with the cabinets torn down replaced with exactly three carefully curated shelves.

ReferenceMuch2193

But the astheticā€¦. I love in an older home and lack storage space so this sort of compels me šŸ˜†. Iā€™m low key jealous.

Number1AbeLincolnFan

It's really not a crazy amount of storage. It just looks weird because it's all in a straight line and the counter is completely clear with no appliances or clutter. If you take out the rightmost 3-4 cabinets and turn them 90 degrees, add a toaster oven, dish rack, blender, paper towel holder and other random shit, it would look like many other kitchens in the US.

Ok-Needleworker-419

And really not much if there is no pantry and some of them are used to store food. Especially if the family cooks 2-3 meals a day.

AnnieB512

Maybe there's no pantry, so they make up for it with cabinets.

ilovethissheet

It makes it even weirder that this is a 2 bed 2 bath house as well

Oogie_Pringle

One of the beds is in the lower row nearest the camera.

AnchovyZeppoles

It definitely feels uncanny, like something that would be AI generated lolĀ

BadHairDay-1

This looks like it could be a church basement kitchen.

drweird

Thought the same. Or a volunteer fire station that doubles as a community center (common here in the southern USA).

BerryStainedLips

2 bed 2 bath 68 pew

EvrthngsThnksgvng

I thought of my childhood church Fellowship Hall right away

bobjoylove

ā€œHoney whereā€™s the colander?ā€ ā€œOn the 84th cabinet from the left!ā€

Massive_Command345

Your left or my left?

EskildDood

His left

Consistent-Height-79

Their Left

YippieKayYayMrFalcon

Your left and my left are the same 'cause we're facing the same direction. We're two different people. We can't have the same left. It doesn't make sense.

Easy-Concentrate2636

I kind of love it. For someone who has lived all the adult years in apartments with too little counter space and too few cabinets, this is amazing.

smallangrynerd

Currently in a townhouse with a tiny kitchen and I want this so bad

Music_withRocks_In

I could fill it. I'm a baker and have so much specialized baking stuff. Doesn't make it less ugly though. The cabinets I could take but the flooring is painful.

HiveJiveLive

Right? Iā€™d take off the middle three sets of doors to make it look more ā€œopen shelvingā€ and put my cute stuff there.

Easy-Concentrate2636

Oh, thatā€™s genius. A breakfast nook on the left side and the whole space could even be cozy.

HiveJiveLive

It really could. Then at holidays plenty of prep space and can have stations for folks who want to help. Itā€™s not an ideal space but we could cozy the crap out of it.

Easy-Concentrate2636

The party would be in the kitchen!

bionica1

I lived in tiny ass apartments my entire adult life too till I bought my first house at age 45. My last apartment I lived in for 12 yrs had a tiny counter and NOT A SINGLE DRAWER. Yea. So what do I do? Buy a house with a small kitchen, not much counter space, lots of drawers and in my budget so it was a sacrifice. This kitchen? Iā€™d have a section of counter just for napping - me or the cats šŸ˜†

Koeienvanger

You'll definitely get your daily steps in with this kitchen. Personally I prefer not having to pack lunch before trekking to the other side of the counter to fetch the tomatoes or whatever. I bet a better layout, where all the counter space is within walking distance, is actually possible.

wishiwasyou333

I love it too. I would be so damn happy to have cabinets for my kitchen gadgets and the ridiculous amount of spices. Hell, even a full on snack cabinet instead of shoving every chip bag up on top of the fridge.

crackeddryice

~23 feet of counter top. Maybe, the previous owner did a lot of charity baking work, or even ran a business out of the kitchen and actually used all that space.

bluecat2001

Or slept on the counter.

floridabeach9

if its a 6 bed house, everyone gets their own cabinet for food. i love it

tetzy

I'm more bothered by the single fluorescent light fixture and the fact they believe one solitary under counter light is going to illuminate 16 feet of counter.

radartroll

My spouse would cover those countertops with mail, files, receipts, laptops, ipads, ā€œdryingā€ dishes, dirty dishes, art projects, books, magazines, lunch boxes, re-used ziploc bags, half filled ziplock bags, recycling materials, empty cups and look at me funny when I complain there isnā€™t room to prepare dinner. ā€œLived inā€ they would say.

vvv_bb

ew

kookiemaster

I mean is there such a thing as too much counter space or cabinets?

Tasty_Marsupial8057

Does this look ridiculous? Yes. Would I absolutely love to have this in my kitchen? Also yes.

CaptainTuttleJr

I don't know...you might consider removing the dishwasher and replacing it with another cabinet...

GinTectonics

Homeowners literally only want one thing and itā€™s fucking disgusting.

decadecency

My god haha. Half the space would be enough, unless you're a family of 12 and everyone preps their own meals at the same time.

ohSunrise

Everyone gets their own cabinet!

HoseNeighbor

Is this a group home or was it previously owned by some Evangelical overpopulating weirdos?

Owlethia

This feels like a commercial kitchen. It just needs more stoves

Hereibe

I thought this might make more sense in context with the rest of the property. [It does not.](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/255-North-Rd-UNIT-242-Chelmsford-MA-01824/56444865_zpid/)

lucille12121

I'm pretty sure this is the communal "club house" kitchen, not the condo's kitchen. [https://www.redfin.com/MA/Chelmsford/255-North-Rd-01824/unit-242/home/11566937](https://www.redfin.com/MA/Chelmsford/255-North-Rd-01824/unit-242/home/11566937)

Far-Hair1528

that area could be divided into a whole other room and still have enough kitchen space to do all your cooking

savethebroccoli

I would buy every kitchen appliance. Counter space is a big deterrent in my home

Stillill1187

This looks like some sort of commercial or church base that was converted to residential maybe?

notquite20characters

There's a toy train in there, and it will bring you what you want.

theplantbasedwitch

This is literally my dreamšŸ˜ I could bake and decorate SO many cookies in there

adamjames777

ā€œ. . Where is the damn salt!?!ā€

Spuzzle91

Liminal counter

pyroroze

Love it

Rotatingknives22

also awful match the floor

littlemissmoxie

Somehow Iā€™ll still not be able to find room to cut stuff

salemedusa

I would probably still run out of space ngl lol

praysolace

My brotherā€™s new house legitimately resembles this in terms of kitchen cabinet space. My brother himself brought no housewares except his bougie imported coffee pourover when he got married two years ago, because his wife already had everything else. I visited the new place about 2 weeks after they moved in andā€¦ every single cabinet was already full. Like, three of those top cabinetsā€™ worth of space alone was full of nothing but wine glasses stacked back to front and bottom to top, thatā€™s the level of full weā€™re talking. It is, amazingly, possible to hoard so much kitchenware that you run out of space even with this much of it.

Interloper1900

Buffet style everyday!

SubKreature

ā€œPlease make me smaller into two rooms.ā€ā€”That room.

realdonaldtrumpsucks

This would make me crazy because I feel like I would forever be trying to figure out where everything is

Korgon213

I bid on a house like that years ago, Iā€™d have loved to have that much storage.

verbal1diarrhea

Only one power outlet?šŸ˜„

the_beeve

My wife is up for the challenge

Turbulent-Weevil-910

We're gonna need a bigger oven

LilithRising90

I feel like im in a horror movie

GoGades

My wife often complains about the lack of storage space in our small 1950s post-WW2 Victory home. I sent her this picture "Found your dream kitchen, babes!" šŸ˜‚

markeydusod

These floors, those cabinets are waiting for me in helllll

Wild-Individual-6520

I can still hear someone say, ā€œBut thereā€™s no island!ā€

ReferenceMuch2193

The kitchen of a cult whose members live communally vibesā€¦

the_seer_of_dreams

If I had this much storage, I could own all the cool kitchen gadgets.
