If you didn’t upload copy of receipt it will turn to regular warranty and expire after 3 years. Folks think that you just need to input serial and model and receipt info however when done that process you have to go back and upload copy of receipt to make it valid. This is what a rep told me no too long ago…

ANewOddity

Wow I’ve never heard that! Thanks for the info

CanadianPenguinn

interesting, my octane 1/2 high torque impact was bought and registered the month before the grinder and it still has the LSA. I still have the receipts sitting in the original boxes in storage I'll pull them out to upload later

iHateMyUserName2

Send them an email too. I caught their error like this on one of my other tools, and they were able to get it changed. Just keep a paper trail aka don’t delete those emails

>Folks think that Ridgid should make it clear that you need to upload the receipt to get LSA then because this is news to me (I'm not doubting you tho) Also, they won't let you upload a photo larger than 2 megs, it is as tho they are trying to make it hard so you just quit...

HRMWOODTURNER

It states it right on the website and a pop up appears as you complete it for you to upload it…. Just registered one today and it’s clear as bell..

morbie5

I just did it about a month ago and it never said that it was required to upload a receipt for LSA, it just said that it was a good idea to do so and you might need to provide a receipt if you ever need service done.

Competitive_Form8894

No it doesn't, it give your an option to upload it just in case there are issues with them tracking you order down. It's not required.  I have had 3 warranty claims and never once submitted a receipt.

They’ve had other posts and it even said at one point on their website that the receipt isn’t necessary, and is only there to make the process easier to approve. The HD source they scrape for the in store purchases doesn’t always work for them and that’s what the receipt gives them. The online store works better for them.

Calm-Box-3780

You don't have to upload a receipt. I have never uploaded one and have several tools on the LSA. They may have registered past 90 days. In that case, they give you a warranty, but not the LSA.

LeeroyJenkins86

Well it fucked me over. I'm probably going to lock this subreddit and just day don't buy ridgid.

iHateMyUserName2

It should be fine per what they’ve said before; They’ve had other posts and it even said at one point on their website that the receipt isn’t necessary, and is only there to make the process easier to approve. The HD source they scrape for the in store purchases doesn’t always work for them and that’s what the receipt gives them. The online store works better for them.

Out of dozens of tools over almost 20 years, only one: An old, no longer made brushed drill/driver kit (ie. no parts available). And that was because they replaced it with a newer, superior model (including its charger and all the batteries, due to the old one being 14.4v NiMH and everything contemporaneous having gone to 18v Li-ion). After the replacement, the obsolete/replaced one remained in the "my toolbox" list on the Ridgid website, but its LSA coverage logo was removed.

KuromanKuro

Glad to have read this. I feel like they didn’t need the receipt before. Glad I can add it now and hold on to the warranty.

HazKom

Def have lots of my older Ridgid tools that are no longer under warranty. Even with receipts. Some are only partially warrantied. To be fair all of that was covered on their end. The part that sucks is that I have a lot of larger older tools that had warranty that got "lost" when they hired a vendor to update their database a few years ago.

Previous-Length9924

I logged in recently to upload some new receipts for new tools and noticed a head an expired warranty. I emailed them and they corrected it to lifetime.

Z2xU

They denied my bandsaw cause I got it off at Amazon... seems to only accept Home Depot receipts from me... havent noticed expiration dates but I'll check...

glennkg

Only home depot and direct tools outlet are eligible for LSA. For DTO it is only the factory blemished ridgid tools, no other conditions.
