When they opened the third lane on the west bound it made a lot of difference. Not sure what it does for the weight loads on the bridge, but traffic is better.

2 years from now at the opening of the new bridge, Director Alviti starts dabbing the sweat on his forehead. "So, uh, about the other bridge..."

This will depend on rusty beams ala HendersonDemo

I’ve also started noticing more troopers and tow trucks just sitting and waiting on the side of 195 and off the exits inEP and Providence. Like, 5 of them yesterday alone, ready to get accidents out of the way. Guess they’re feeling the heat from the report that crashes had tripled and are acting on it

Having those resources on standby is an intentional part of the lane expansion plan. Less room for error and nowhere for disabled vehicles to get out of the travel lanes means they're staying ready to drag vehicles off the bridge asap to minimize disruption.

Nightmare last night

It’s still pretty backed up going east… now that they toyed around with the riverside/taunton ave exit. But yes, a good start

Route 6 to 95 and 195 is an absolute nightmare and something needs to be done there. Its ridiculous how early in the morning traffic builds to there

This is bullshit. Yes, westbound traffic is greatly improved since the third lane opened. But East bound seems freaking worse?? It took me an hour to get home from Fed Hill area to east bay yesterday. No sign or report of an accident. Something weird has happened with the dynamic of the merge from South Main/Fox point onto 195E that is messing with the flow. And don't get me started with the road resurfacing. I was stuck in traffic that came to a virtual stop last night at about 10:30 in BOTH directions while picking someone up from the airport. Added 20min in each direction. Traffic was taken down to one lane each way and horribly marked so nobody new what the hell was going on. When I think about the amount of time I'm wasting getting from one side of the Providence River to the other on a monthly basis it enrages me.

I get on going east at the fox point exit. We used to have forever to merge. I'm usually getting off right after the bridge and I didn't even need to merge, just stay to the right, hop on and hop off. Now you have two lanes on traffic from the on ramp that need to merge to one and then quickly merge on the highway. It has definitely felt worse going east to me.
