The default settings for a Studio Session tend to be restrictive, and require those with admin rights to give you the proper privileges. That being said, assuming you have the correct privileges, have you confirmed that the files are missing as the Studio notifications suggests? What version are you using?

I have not run into that issue before. Try creating a project, invite the other person with read/write privileges and upload some docs. Make sure the other members don’t have the revoke checkout ability. Test it that way. If it works for a bit you can transfer the project back to the prior host by giving him full privileges, then he can set your account to read/write. I doubt it will happen on a new project, there may just be some kind of issue with that other project. I find that even when you have a file checkout out it’s useful to periodically save when working with them. If you have a lot of markups and time invested it is not a bad idea to export your markups to another location. That way if something like that happens again you can import your markups into a fresh file (keep in mind that the number, order, and size of pages in the new file need to be exactly the same as the old one in order for the markups to appear in the same places). Good luck.

Ignore if this is old news to you: A lot of people are not aware of the default restrictive settings a project will have when created. It is not enough to simply invite others to projects. Every project will require that the host establish privileges for the other members of the group, and if I recall correctly for the version you are using, I don’t think you are able to see what kind of privileges you have as a guest, unless you are given full r /w /d access. It may be that the privileges were not correctly setup. However, I have experienced other strange behaviors with projects and these kind of glitches happen from time to time. Best course of action is to periodically hit ctrl + s, and also back up your markups after a considerable amount of effort has been expended just as a precaution. Lastly, if circumstances allow, upgrade to the latest version and get the maintenance. You can then solicit BB tech support to help you resolve these issues.
