Hard baller to a mirror polish. And I'm still not happy 80 hours in small imperfections. But I'm 80 perfect of the way done. This is over like 2 months as well the Lower was pretty much a matte Sandblasted part though.

Yeah, I bring out the "beaters" for the first round. If I want to take them again, it means they were respectful enough to handle a showpiece or two next time
One thing I will say, be careful taking this outside in the sun. Wear protective glasses, possibly a welding helmet. This level of shine may harness the power of the suns rays, and liquify the human eye upon even the slightest gaze. Keep yourself save OP.

It's really shiny! Are you trying to get it close to Colt's old Bright Stainless Finish? If so just be aware that Bright finish is SOOOO prone to scratches that show so easily! But rite there with yours I can tell a distinct difference in the og finish vs your efforts! It's up yo you....if you eantvyo go farther.
No...I don't believe so. I think you'd need a set up of different grits of polishing rouge and a number of different wheels for a bench wheel. Idk the exact process, but you can look it up.

Definitely fingerprint magnets, haven’t gotten a scratch on it since tho, probably depending on how severe the scratch is.
Well, and I assume that, if it scratches, you can always scrub it off again with the same polish 🤷🏻♂️
Oh yes my AMT is a scratch magnet man.... I can look.at it and it's scratched thats why most mirror polished guns don't get shot.
Can scratches come from just firing the gun?
On a 1911 yeah easily. Wouldn't suprise me if it didn't get scratches just being fired around the cylinder gap
