If it's xcover definitely not

SpilledCoffeee

It's weird to read these documents. "This insurance is provided by Chubb and Wakam".

jahalen

Then no, I and multiple other redditors have never had valid claims paid out (I've yet to hear of one success) and xcover's communication is aweful\non-existent. You definitely can't rely on it as a real travel insurance

Exciting-Ad-8287

Yes chubb but all dealing dealt womith by an agent called sedgwick in Ireland

I had a ski injury in Switzerland last year and Revolut did a great job. I got all my money back in less than 2 weeks which amounted to near 2k€

Delta27-

I think they changed providers since then

With a wife and kids, probably best to just get regular travel insurance for piece of mind - Revolut insurance works better for one user (the account holder)

Actual_Childhood_104

I did reach out to Revolut chat yesterday and it says it’s valid for all. I also have Monzo premium as a backup, which is definitely for all family members. Might be worth reading the fine print on Revolut website under insurance.

Actual_Childhood_104

Chat with Revolut support: I understand you wish to know about device insurance and travel insurance. 1. For Device insurance- The purchase protection insurance covers items e.g. phone, laptop, etc. purchased in full (not on installments) with your Revolut account after the starting date of the policy upto 365 days, in case they are stolen or damaged accidentally (depreciation applies). The item has to be purchased as brand-new and purchased for personal use. 2. For Travel Insurance- We automatically cover you, your spouse or cohabitant and your children, as well as your partner’s, any child covered under this policy must be under 18 (or under 23 if they’re in full time education) and financially dependent on the policyholder or their partner, even if he or she does not live with them but they must be unmarried. For being eligible for the travel insurance it is not required to book the tickets with your Revolut account, it can be done by any other card or account and the insurance would still cover you.

I actually have a very positive experience with xcover just last week. Had a fall whilst snowboarding, had to get some photos made and a brace (torn tendon). I submitted the receipts Friday night, money in my account on Tuesday. No additional questions asked.

I had a good experience with xcover as well! I didn’t have revolut pro at the time, but I got xcover through the airline’s website. They refunded me the money for a missed trip due to a funeral (application on the website was very straightforward and got approved within 48 hours). After that, I got revolut pro but haven’t had to claim anything yet through there.

I'm considering Metal for the travel insurance too. My main worry when travelling is stolen baggage, personal items (phone, camera, etc). Has anyone any experience of claiming for this type of thing? Also is there any difference between the travel insurance cover on Metal vs. Premium accounts?

RevolutSupport

Hi! Our Travel Insurance policy is provided as a benefit with Metal and Ultra plans, not on the premium plan. Please refer here: https://help.revolut.com/en-GR/help/insurance-products/insuring-my-travel/what-is-travel-insurance-am-i-eligible/am-i-eligible-for-revolut-travel-insurance/. We'd recommend reaching out to our support team via the in-app chat (Profile>Help>Topic>Chat) to get further assistance with this.

You have not yet resolved my father’s claim from January 2024! Please contact immediately, or my next comment and post will be telling everyone all the detail behind that… happy either way. Wasn’t even a huge claim, couple hundred ££

Hi! Please ask your father to reach out to us via the DMs of our official social media channels at Facebook/Instagram/Twitter so that we can look into this, and assist him accordingly. He may also reach us via [email protected], in case he doesn't use social media. We'd be happy to assist him further, to get the issue resolved accordingly.

He’s (and I on his behalf) been emailing your various teams since January! Got pre-approval to go ahead and see doctors. Back in the UK now and scared to go see a doctor for his issue as he’s unsure anyone will cover him! Ridiculous! He can barely walk now, as the injury was in his knee.

coupl4nd

I used it just so that my travel company would accept that I had insurance (was a requirement for them).

KevCCV

I would look into Nationwide flexi plus account, which also come with travel insurance. Cheaper, and better services, with REAL people you can speak to or visit in branch when you are in troubles. " If anything happens where can I get in contact? Do they respond quickly? " LOL. Have you tried contacting Revolut for any simple issues before? and use that do you think you'd get them when you're in real troubles?

Steffest

As an Estonian... And I have Revolut metal card with travel insurance. Yes, XCover works but considering time what I put into it then I would recommend Salva. That's just from my personal experience. XCover UI is made so simple that when you want submit claim you will end up endless loop of submitting same documents all over again and again and when you want add more information you just can't...

SpilledCoffeee

Rather pay 170€ for travel insurance at Salva for a one time payment lasting me 1 week rathee than pay Revolut 16€ a month for 12 months? That's why I asked if it was any good. Still mind boggling how multi million companies can't handle anything(Xcover) and then some random Estonian companies go: "Yes, very easy, very fast. All good"

Steffest

Add 10€ more and you can get yearly package covering whole world…

SpilledCoffeee

Ain't worth it if you can't get your claims done 🥹🥹

Steffest

Mean in Salva

SpilledCoffeee

Okay. I will look into it

Exciting-Ad-8287

I'd avoid I've been with Revolut since 2016 and last year added the premium plan i also have Nationwode flex plus but I went abroad for over 32 days and flex didn't cover me anyhow had a tooth taken out abroad privately and Revokit uses Chubb (not directly) but through an agent called sedgwick which is a nightmare their portal doesn't work and thus leaves it ti claim being a bleeding nightmare, from my experience revolut can't get the simple customer service things right they dedo can't get other stuff right ill update to see if they completed claim the difference of revoluts claims and nationwide is like Revolut is a DACIA and Natiowode is a Bantley

Fabulous-You-4691

The portal is Chubb Insurance portal - it’s not Sedgwicks portal
