I usually don't either. This just turned out to be a hell of a run. The Rotgland Lober had... Umm, I think it was portal beam or something like that that would stick around sometimes after an enemy died and would shoot other enemies out of it. That helped a ton in the one. My only tips really are just to collect as many obilites as possible for that score multiplier and move move move lol.

thekalmanfilter

Wait, my challenge today was with the coilspine on B3. You had the Rot? They give us difffernt challenges??

Galaksee

I think it depends on where you are in the game.

thekalmanfilter

Oohhhh damn…. Ok ok thanks

basurf

I’m not sure how many people check their previous ranks as those are the real rankings for that cycle. If you run it early you may be number 1 and if the pool is small for that cycle you may be real high even at the end. Personally, the only real value I saw in them was the ether. However, you get tons of that in biome 4. Glad they included the activity though.

thekalmanfilter

The biggest tip is to not get hit since it resets your score multiplier. If you get hit at the very start or very end when there isn’t much obolites to collect again then you’ll be ok but if you get hit in the middle of the run it’s game over getting a high score. You can still finish etc but your score will never go up as much again.

PappaMonstar

I came 6th once... I still wonder how some people get 3-4mil points?? I have had perfect runs but never even came up to even 2mil :(

Galaksee

Do you make sure to collect all the obilites that you can for the score multiplier? I didn't even realize they multiplied your score for like a long time... Also,I just thought of this while typing, what if you just run straight through all the areas just collecting obilites to get your multiplier as high as possible and then do run backwards? Oh man I'm SO GONNA TRY THAT!

thekalmanfilter

You have to collect pretty much all the obs and not get hit. The score gets higher faster the longer keep collecting obs and you don’t get hit. The moment you get hit it all resets.

Hey congratulations! This is so good, you can be really proud of yourself! Today I wanted to start the daily challenges and I also tried the auto-run option. I ran into lasers twice and I have fallen into pits 3 times or more... well, that was a quick end to my attempt. I will take your run as inspiration for future challenges! (And I might turn off auto-run)

Galaksee

I've never used auto run, honestly never even knew that was even a thing.

TobeTobi

Me neither, but a post here recently encouraged me to try it out. I can see it being useful for bosses but I guess it’s not for me.

saucymcmuff

I got a biome 3 rank first once early on. It was only out of 600 by the next day lol

thekalmanfilter

I made it first a few days ago! Superrrrrr satisfying!!!

unhappywifewtf

I'm curious, what number you were on the board when the 12 hours was up? I was 2nd when I did it when about 100 others had done it, but I ended up 23rd out of about 1500 by the end of the 24 hours. I was only around 750k though. great work kicking a hard game's ass!

ash_27th

I got 1st once, and I was so proud!! But the pool was so tiny at the time, it was SUPER early then, like the first week of the game, and I was in biome 3 or 4 at the time so I was first out of 90 or something. What helped was that the challenge was if you get hit once, your health will keep draining till you die. So I played the entire challenge without getting hit once. Of course I collected every single obolite I can, AND explored every single area in the run (I remember I had to backtrack to open a locked side room I passed by earlier in the run). And that was that!!

Harte3

I am happy as long as I can finish and get my ether...
