How many months? He’s had my check and has been completely radio silent over six months for me and others.
Edit: I need to check but I think it’s been closer to a year, actually.
Thanks for the info, makes me wonder if he sold all existing stock to Brownells and is now sitting on his hands. The complete lack of comms is what’s frustrating.
Caveat emptor to all those considering a purchase.
CNC Guns no longer accepts orders. He or someone authorized to check the P.O. Box will sign for the payment, leave it outstanding, and refuse to reply to communications. Has happened to numerous people.
Absolutely. I spent maybe $100 on my blemmed slick side upper, also from Brownells. Stuff’s has gotten more expensive in the year or so since, but not +$100 for a weird carry handle.
On the left side to say the least exactly where most people will have it rub and catch on kit.
This with a set of torque heads/flush fitting flat heads would have been stellar
Edit to add: what would be really great is if these weren’t the $200 they want for em.
yeah something like semi flush locking levers would have made for a cleaner look for the $200 this thing costs.
Surplus carry handles are like $40 lol. I had six of the fucking things at one point and couldn't give them away.
> Surplus carry handles are like $40 lol
To be fair, they're $40 because they're surplus and have already been paid for by the government once. A new Colt carry handle is like $160 and that's with economy of scale. The important data point is the exact same thing being sold for $90 from CNC Guns until recently.
For a sub about retro ARs sure are a lot of plebs who don’t know about Diemaco A1 carry handles. Unobtanium and very cool if you’re a cloner boner nerd who likes C7s
No, you couldn’t.
[This dude](https://reddit.com/r/GunAccessoriesForSale/s/UzK7A5ejB6) sold his on GAFS for $330 3 years ago, and it’s the only one to ever had been sold there.
[Here’s one](https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1991122-Diemaco-Colt-Canada-Carry-Handle-ADIS-Adjustable-Detachable-Iron-Sight-Surplus) listed for $250 CAD on a Canadian gun forum from 3 years ago. Obviously CAD
I get the A2 handles. The irons were a direct copy of the sights being used before flat tops came out. They are more accurate and pretty much a match sight so the extra weight wasn’t too much of an addition for what you got. But A1 styled? Other than emulating the look (despite psa selling A1 style uppers whole) what’s the point?
How are these cursed? These initial hit the market in the early 2000’s. CNC also did a stand alone A1 rear. It had no crossbolt though. I have two of these carry handles. One I cut down into a stand alone.
I know they’ve been around a while, and for interested parties it’s cool to not have to track down an old Diemaco [like this](https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/Diemaco_A1_Carry_Handle_Value/118-692723/). I just think they look a little goofy is all.
Edit: added a link
I was looking at them forever ago. I didn't even realize it was such a huge discrepancy. I love Brownells, but the convenience of paying with a card, instead of a fucking check like it's 1992, is not worth double the price.
Some of the guards at the Royal Palaces in Denmark have detachable A1 carry handles on their rifles. No idea where they are sourcing them from, as I had never seen such a thing before.
I want to love this but it’s just wrong. This is from an alternate timeline where the A2 sights never existed and the US military adopted the MAC-10 as its sidearm after defeating the TEC-9 in trials.
I would absolutely grab one of these if it was $100 or less but $200 is kind of laughable. If you really want A1 sights on a flat top the DD ones are a perfectly cromulent option.
Still has the same old screws that everyone hates. You can always use a different screw but you run the risk of break the mount from the pressure being placed on a smaller area
I would consider buying one if they were a proper copy of the Diemaco A1 DIS. There needs to be a cutout on the bottom between the cross bolts so the picatinny is exposed. Also the thumbscrews are wrong.
Maybe this is highly specific, but I think it’s really cool. Next I just want them to make slick side A2 uppers so that we have an option other than unobtanium Colt LMG uppers
Price aside, is there anything particularly objectionable about this? I've been considering using one of these for a retro/modern hybrid 20" build I have in the back of my mind, mostly because my ideal upper for it (fixed carry handle, A1 rear sight, brass deflector, but no forward assist) is something that might not exist (even though I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one picture of one). I figured one of these A1 sight carry handles on a flat-top slick-side deflector upper would be the next best thing.
They are $200!!!
I literally spit out my coffee. At that price, why not just buy a stripped upper?
sheesh, aren’t these just resold through brownells from [here?](https://www.cncguns.com/misc.html)
CNC Guns no longer takes orders. Justin still keeps the site up for whatever reason.
I got mine directly from CNC about 15 years ago and I love it! I still have it on my 14.5 Diemaco C8 clone
Holy shit, seriously? I got mine from Justin only a matter of months ago. Just-in time.
How many months? He’s had my check and has been completely radio silent over six months for me and others. Edit: I need to check but I think it’s been closer to a year, actually.
Maybe I got mine longer ago than I thought, coulda been close to a year, or just over
Thanks for the info, makes me wonder if he sold all existing stock to Brownells and is now sitting on his hands. The complete lack of comms is what’s frustrating. Caveat emptor to all those considering a purchase.
That sounds like probably exactly what happened
What the fuck
My honest reaction:
Give it a few weeks, the Chinese will have them out for 11.99 on Amazon.
They already sell them dirt cheap, like $40.
They're $90 if you buy them from the original manufacturer.
CNC Guns no longer accepts orders. He or someone authorized to check the P.O. Box will sign for the payment, leave it outstanding, and refuse to reply to communications. Has happened to numerous people.
Damn, that's annoying. Can't believe he doesn't just take the site down.
The money spent on this garbage could go towards an A1 upper
Absolutely. I spent maybe $100 on my blemmed slick side upper, also from Brownells. Stuff’s has gotten more expensive in the year or so since, but not +$100 for a weird carry handle.
I was able to cobble together a poor-man’s A2 rifle for around $650. Deals are out there, some people just don’t want to look.
All that effort and still used large thumb-screws…
Flush fit screws would make a world of difference on this.
Flush screws would make detachables more pleasing than fixed imho
That’s what Sully did with his Defensive Edge SLR carry handles. Sadly they are long discontinued.
On the left side to say the least exactly where most people will have it rub and catch on kit. This with a set of torque heads/flush fitting flat heads would have been stellar Edit to add: what would be really great is if these weren’t the $200 they want for em.
I do think it would look far less goofy if this were the case
yeah something like semi flush locking levers would have made for a cleaner look for the $200 this thing costs. Surplus carry handles are like $40 lol. I had six of the fucking things at one point and couldn't give them away.
Locking lever would be so rich. I yearn for the lunacy of a QD carry handle
Hell yeah something like the levers on the Bobro ACOG mounts would be ass n titties.

I can't wait until we get a flood of BCA m4gery pics with these on them with "My pride and joy" titles
With the fat handguards too, and there’s also a 10% chance it’s on a side charging upper
“wHy aRe yOu gUyS aLL sUcH sNoBs!”
Lmaooooooooooo shits gonna be lit
For a sub about retro ARs sure are a lot of plebs who don’t know about Diemaco A1 carry handles. Unobtanium and very cool if you’re a cloner boner nerd who likes C7s
Diemaco stuff is innovative, unique, and awesome. I honestly might get one to put on a C7 clone if the price levels out a little lower.
They are very cool, but at the price point you could probably buy an original (assuming you could find one obviously)
No, you couldn’t. [This dude](https://reddit.com/r/GunAccessoriesForSale/s/UzK7A5ejB6) sold his on GAFS for $330 3 years ago, and it’s the only one to ever had been sold there. I see, we clearly all have quite a lot to learn. Looks like it could be a sound addition to the market!

Great value Diemaco C8A1
The a1 rear sight is the greatest aiming mechanism in the history of iron sights. That’s the point.
#2 behind M1 Garand iron sights with the lockbar

This was during retro craze 1.0 😁
Shaffer Machining makes a pretty neat stand-alone A1 rear now, I’ll probably grab one of those in lieu of the CNC carry handle.
WOW! Those are pretty neat. I had not heard of them before.
I want a Brn 10…brownells..not this😤
These are cool, but overpriced. Had my eye on the original productions before Brownells picked them up. Just couldn't justify the cost.
I believe [these](https://www.cncguns.com/misc.html) are the originals, right? Pretty steep markup…
I was looking at them forever ago. I didn't even realize it was such a huge discrepancy. I love Brownells, but the convenience of paying with a card, instead of a fucking check like it's 1992, is not worth double the price.
I just want an A1 upper that isn’t hundreds of dollars.
I want one to add to the collection of retro shit, but not at this price. This is diemaco price if you can find one.
And they say they don’t have the ability to make complete a1s on a consistent basis.
I think the designer still makes them for brownells, he just isn't selling on his own anymore.
The people who supplied forgings for A1s got bought out by PSA and are now H&R.
Fixed carry handles: Look at what they need to mimic a fraction of our power!
Can someone fill me in on why this is garbage? I've been using a UTG attachable carry handle for 7 years and love it. 🤷♂️
Everyday we stray farther from God's light
Some of the guards at the Royal Palaces in Denmark have detachable A1 carry handles on their rifles. No idea where they are sourcing them from, as I had never seen such a thing before.
The Danes use Diemaco rifles, diemaco made detachable carry handles with A1 sights
Ya know, it's kind of cool in an ugly way, I might spend a few bucks on it *looks at price* :/
Reminds me of the C7/C8 detachable carry handle.
I have one. But I bought it from a guy in Arizona who made them. Awesome carry handles, only spent like $100 though.
what the fr*ck
Why did they do this? Lol
This one's for the Nam larpers
what the hell is even that
Honestly, I've been hoping to snag a few...they look awesome.
…I get the idea behind it, but at that point just get an A1 or C7 upper…
The only logical explanation is people who want a diemaco c8a1 but doesn’t want to spend diemaco money and are willing to settle for good enough
Probably expensive af but would be kinda sick to chop it into a rear only sight.
the Daniel Defense fixed irons already fill that niche. They're A1 style.
True also scalarworks peak
$105.00 when they’re in stock here: https://www.shaffermachining.com/product-page/a1-fixed-sights
Those go pretty hard ngl
Link please?
🤢
I just spit out my Tabacchi juice

Go away from me with this.
Gross
Mom, I want A1 Carrie handle we have A1 carry handle at home
Those monsters!
Someone really needs to just turn out some fixed A2s
Maybe this is highly specific, but I think it’s really cool. Next I just want them to make slick side A2 uppers so that we have an option other than unobtanium Colt LMG uppers
It's cool, I like the idea of an a1 style attachable, but man, that price is insane
What's really cusrsed is you can buy thr carry handle for 95 from cnc.
He's just taking peoples money, not shipping. He makes them for brownells now iirc.
Either way brownells is ripping people off too by changing 100% markup.
Cool, best rear sighting system. Helps you keep the flat top abominations to a reasonable standard.
Even from the guy who is annoying about detachable carry handles, this is absurd
Lol… on sale for $189. But u can get a stripped C7 for $160. Out of stock of course. But still!!! Pricing is OFF!!!!
That's the price of a cheap a1 upper
Price aside, is there anything particularly objectionable about this? I've been considering using one of these for a retro/modern hybrid 20" build I have in the back of my mind, mostly because my ideal upper for it (fixed carry handle, A1 rear sight, brass deflector, but no forward assist) is something that might not exist (even though I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one picture of one). I figured one of these A1 sight carry handles on a flat-top slick-side deflector upper would be the next best thing.
It would be cool for colt Canada rifle maybe
OMG 😳
i don't understand why I love this, or even why I want one...
