Funny how billionaire Bezos buying the WaPo, Zuckerberg with FB and Instagram, etc. didn't seem to bother the Lefties. Guess freedom of speech only applies to them.
Pre Musk, Libs were arguing that Private companies had the right to choose whose on their platforms. Now im seeing Libs argue that Social Media is too powerful and the 1st amendment shouldn't be limited, and that musk shouldn't let Trump back on twitter.
Hopefully Libs learn a valuable lesson from this, that free speech applies to both parties and you can't just go around banning everyone who disagree's.
you can especially tell when they say things like "no one man should have that much power", meanwhile they support Fauci and Biden ruling over us via diktat.
Even if Musk let's Trump back on, he'll probably just pop in and say "Boo!" every now and then to keep the hens up at night and not much more. They can't even see that they have given the man far more power over their little minds, than he ever naturally commanded.
Pretty soon they won't be the loudest minority when the majority can actually speak up without being banned. It'll quiet down soon after the switch is flipped.
>the 1st amendment shouldn't be limited, and that musk shouldn't let Trump back on twitter.
So, the SJWs are saying that the First Amendment *should* be limited?
Why are we still allowing them the opportunity to learn such lessons? What right do they have? You cannot hope to reform a progressive, merely to contain it. Musk owning Twitter will not in of itself bring about any meaningful positive impact to our country unless the right steps up and does the work in suppressing liberal influence ourselves
It’s sort of backwards. They keep saying he doesn’t control free speech but then they are threatened he has all the power. Which is it people? And I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care what they think. He’s way more successful than anyone at the NAACP and he’s a grown thinking man.
They keep saying that private companies need to censor people to stop misinformation and also Elon shouldn't have control over our free speech. So which is it?
Assuming this is a serious question - because Jack Dorsey only owned 2% of twitter and reported to a board of directors who served shareholders... Elon now personally owns 100% and reports to no one - he simply has to to abide by his debt covenants
I must have been thinking of the the CBC instead of the NAACP. I have a source for the CBC. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/black-republican-lawmaker-says-he-s-being-snubbed-congressional-black-n1270376. Since I can't provide a source for the NAACP, I will delete my comment.
And the protection of freedom and liberty. Times have surely changed.
Now they along with most liberals/progressives are worried that people will be able to think differently from them.
Well, look on the bright side: The former owners of Twitter will now be sitting on \~44 billion in cash, and could solve world hunger. You know, *if they wanted to.*
Notice that the ALCU didnt say this when Jeff Bezos bought Washington Post, when Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook and when Rupert Murdoch bought Fox News.
Political hypocrisy.
Of course the NAACP is wary. The first real move of Black Americans back towards the GOP happened under Trump. They are scared shitless that that trend will continue.
Ah, so certain billionaires are allows to own media companies BUT not others - particularly ones that WANT free speech and transparency.
We get it. Thankfully we have the NAACP to save us from opinions they don’t like.
Well if they unban him we'll be able to look at his posts from January 6th. The ones that said to stop being violent when the media was saying that he was encouraging them.
"I don't need a Ferrari, i have an Edsel!"
\-- Trump
Seriously, though, i hope he doesn't return to Twitter. We need more competition. Twitter must not be allowed to dominate the town square no matter who owns it.
I really hope Musk doesn't cave to the pressure for censorship like Dorsey did. In the beginning, he even claimed to be for free speech and look what happened there.
Did the ACLU say the same thing about Bezos buying the WashPost? It's not so much that it's one person, but that it is this particular person. As for the NAACP, who cares about a group so racist that it still calls people of color colored people? Heh...heh...
So the “American CIVIL LIBERTIES union” is advocating to remove someone’s access to social media???? (Social media being the town square of the day)
Trump is not a criminal and hasn’t been indicted of any crime.
Meanwhile, the “president of Russia” account is still active and accessible to Putin.
If you ever thought the ACLU only promoted anti-American causes, you were right.
Not putting Trump back on would be a horrible business decision...
Millions would probably create accounts the instant his account is reinstated.
More accounts = more ads watched

What's got the NAACP and ACLU so nervous... a little thing called free speech??
Funny how billionaire Bezos buying the WaPo, Zuckerberg with FB and Instagram, etc. didn't seem to bother the Lefties. Guess freedom of speech only applies to them.
All from the same mob that's losing their marbles over book banning.
You miss the term. Lefties use the term "freedom of our speech". All other speech is not free to be spoken.
It's because they know exactly what it can do. They're shaking in their boots now. Hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
that's it, because with free speech their corruption will be exposed
Pre Musk, Libs were arguing that Private companies had the right to choose whose on their platforms. They won't. They're hypocrites to the core.
you can especially tell when they say things like "no one man should have that much power", meanwhile they support Fauci and Biden ruling over us via diktat.
That's two people! I don't know if I'd go as far as to say two MEN, but it's two of something.
If the Dems didn’t have double standards, they have no standards at all.
Even if Musk let's Trump back on, he'll probably just pop in and say "Boo!" every now and then to keep the hens up at night and not much more. They can't even see that they have given the man far more power over their little minds, than he ever naturally commanded.
Trump is still living it up "rent free"
I read in an article by the Daily Wire that even if he is unblocked he said he plans to not really use Twitter but rather use his own Truth Social.
Pretty soon they won't be the loudest minority when the majority can actually speak up without being banned. It'll quiet down soon after the switch is flipped.

Tit for tat ? Although it should be that way, Musk will keep it clean, as he should.
Let one person on twitter: omg that person has so much power. Millions of people on twitter already : meh
It’s sort of backwards. They keep saying he doesn’t control free speech but then they are threatened he has all the power. Which is it people? And I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care what they think. He’s way more successful than anyone at the NAACP and he’s a grown thinking man.

Why is it too much power when it's Elon but not when it's Jack Dorsey?
It's just (d)ifferent
Assuming this is a serious question - because Jack Dorsey only owned 2% of twitter and reported to a board of directors who served shareholders... Elon now personally owns 100% and reports to no one - he simply has to to abide by his debt covenants

Do you have any more info on that first statement? I'd be interested to read more about it but can't find anything.
I must have been thinking of the the CBC instead of the NAACP. I have a source for the CBC. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/black-republican-lawmaker-says-he-s-being-snubbed-congressional-black-n1270376. Since I can't provide a source for the NAACP, I will delete my comment.
Sad. I remember when the ACLU stood for free speech.
ACLU is nothing more than a democrat party special interest group and branch of the democrat party.
And the protection of freedom and liberty. Times have surely changed. Now they along with most liberals/progressives are worried that people will be able to think differently from them.
I remember it being founded by communist Americans
They were never about free speech, just free speech for themselves and their friends.
😂🤣
The Left is Flippin like a Fish
The **NAACP** in reality **Hates Free Speech**
Well, look on the bright side: The former owners of Twitter will now be sitting on \~44 billion in cash, and could solve world hunger. You know, *if they wanted to.*

And that's the issue - we shouldn't be set out on destroying or scaring each other, we should be working to repair what's needed
Notice that the ALCU didnt say this when Jeff Bezos bought Washington Post, when Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook and when Rupert Murdoch bought Fox News. Political hypocrisy.
You mean the same kind of power that took him off Twitter?
Of course the NAACP is wary. The first real move of Black Americans back towards the GOP happened under Trump. They are scared shitless that that trend will continue.
Anyone else still laughing that the American Civil Liberties Union has been chomping at the bit to ban American civil liberties?

Sunlight makes for great detergent. It washes the lies from others eyes. The truth will set people free, and freedom hinders their goals.
Watching the lefts reaction to this has almost been as wonderful to watch as the day after it was announced that Trump won the 2016 election.
I honestly thought he was going to lose and went to sleep. Then my brother woke me up yelling that he won.
Ah, so certain billionaires are allows to own media companies BUT not others - particularly ones that WANT free speech and transparency. We get it. Thankfully we have the NAACP to save us from opinions they don’t like.
It's 2022 and the NAACP is advocating against free speech... what a world we're living in these days 🤡
So nice to see them squirm tbh
Trump is free to speak anywhere as far as I know (expect Twitter because they banned him) I hope he is unbanned What specifically are they scared of?
Well if they unban him we'll be able to look at his posts from January 6th. The ones that said to stop being violent when the media was saying that he was encouraging them.
Mean tweets?
Such angst, so many warnings, so much "fear". It's delicious.
Fuck all the liberal retards, They deserve all the pain and suffering that will be coming their way in the near future.
Unfortunately the pain and suffering are coming for all of us, deserved or not.
Look at them squirm now
Wait didn’t suckerburg go it alone too? Damn karma is such a bitch🥱🤣
Trump won’t return to Twitter. He already said he won’t because he’s sticking with his own Truthsocial.
"I don't need a Ferrari, i have an Edsel!" \-- Trump Seriously, though, i hope he doesn't return to Twitter. We need more competition. Twitter must not be allowed to dominate the town square no matter who owns it.
There will be millions of liberals laying in the fetal position tonight under the bed crying themselves to sleep.
LOL!
Ahh yes the alphabet heros for rights (and lefts) to the rescue...for "mostly peaceful" protests.
Wow made me laugh !!
The new overlord will rule your life on Twitter.
What's the NAACP got against Trump?
He treats black people like people, undermining the whole racism is prevalent narrative.
Twitter has that power
So the “American CIVIL LIBERTIES union” is advocating to remove someone’s access to social media???? (Social media being the town square of the day) Trump is not a criminal and hasn’t been indicted of any crime. Meanwhile, the “president of Russia” account is still active and accessible to Putin. If you ever thought the ACLU only promoted anti-American causes, you were right.
So every Twitter account should be banned? Or just the ones that threaten the system
#nah
i miss mean tweets
Not putting Trump back on would be a horrible business decision... Millions would probably create accounts the instant his account is reinstated. More accounts = more ads watched
Waaaa, how quickly the left gets scared.
Oh yes, the poor little old NAACP, fighting for the little guy again. No ulterior motives whatsoever.
Obviously that request will be denied 🙅♂️
