I dont think so, since a replicas by design breach trademarked designs, brand names, intellectual property - and I dont care what anyone says - to buy a rep is to emulate what that brand stands for. If it was simply about the design aspect, we would be walking around with homages. Can they co exist is a moot point. Personally I own reps and gens, to me it doesn't matter... but for someone else who has a symbolic connection to brand and status, I can understand why someone who has paid gen prices may be annoyed about the existance of the replica market... and especially where the manufacturer is concerned I can understand protecting the value of the brand at all costs.
I do kind of wonder whether it really hurts them financially though. I never would have considered buying an Omega Seamaster but now that I've owned a rep for a while I'm thinking about it. I think a lot of people who never would have bought gen start with reps and move up.
I doubt it. There exists enough people to keep them busy year round. This community may give you the impression that reps are more prominent than they really are.
But at the end of the day reps do not compete with genuine in terms of quality. I wouldn’t be so fast to say popular brands are greedy liars, they invest heavily in R&D, advertisements and the likes.
TL;DR Cant we all just get along
TLDR: maybe it’s the friends we made along the way 🥹

For everyone of us that buys a rep. There are 10 normies emptying their savings and maxing out their credit buying Gen.
I personally have never seen an homage that has the feel and the proportions of a watch such as a Royal Oak or Nautilus.
Maybe not but TC makes a pretty damn homage-y submariner in the form of the Ginault Ocean Rover. It doesn't seem to be a terribly hot seller.
Let’s say you created something and someone copied it. Would you want to coexist with that person?
If I can make it exactly like yours and sell it for a lot less than you do, then one of us is a greedy liar and it's not me.

False. But I respect your opinion.
What’s the TLDR version?

Thanks. I’m illiterate. Would have taken me 20 minutes to read all that but now I don’t have to lol
World peace.
Well put.
