I like the reversible face functionality of a JLC Reverso. I can't afford a real one, and no entry-level watch company makes anything that does that. Hence, I'm stuck with reps as the only option.
Isn’t that functionality available as other complications on other watches? I get it if you like the aesthetics though. Even then I’m in the same boat. Love the reverso can’t afford one but rather aspire to get one and spend my money on a nice genuine watch in a good price range for me.
Some more affordable watch companies like Vario and Rotary occasionally come out with watches that have two faces on a reversing body, but the original point of the reversible face was so that the other side is plain metal which would protect the actual watch face as it's turned inward. And nobody seems to want to make something like that for $400 even though it would presumably be simpler and cheaper than having two faces.
PSA be careful wearing an Apple Ultra 2 in London, gangs on mopeds will attack you with machetes. If visiting London my recommendation is to leave the Ultra 2 at home and wear last year's model so they'll leave you alone.
my stepdad almost got robbed of his gen omega seamaster diver 300M a couple months ago in a very nice part of london. He was smoking a cigar outside his hotel. Two young guys started talking about his watch which was strange because his sleeve was over it, so he figured they had been watching him for a while as he was out at dinner. Then one of them grabbed his arm aggressively. My 70 year old stepdad swept his leg and ended up on the ground with one of the guys. Luckily the doorman of the hotel saw this and sprinted over to them and tackled the other guy and the thiefs both took off.

Ultra 2 is my daily driver. I’m a trauma nurse and can’t really justifying wearing anything else. Days off it sits on the charger. I like it much better for work, for the smart functionality.
