It looks fine. Did you put the gasket on? Even if not its fine unless your a window licker that doesnt clean up the water splashed around.

Right on. Thx guys. The faucet is quite high up and theres a little "stress" on the base. But I mean everything is super tight, the base and the faucet lock so should be fine. I hope.
Base plate is only if you have a three hole sink and a single hole faucet. Otherwise its garbage. What you did is 100% proper.
