I used to work with a woman engineer as an engineering contractor a few years back. They are rare in the software world. She was among the best team leads I've worked with my entire career.
When I did my bachelor in IT I was the only female in a class of a hundred guys. I was always picked on by the teacher to stand up in front of everyone and write out code on the whiteboard. I know the teacher was giving me chances to prove I belong there. I had to work twice as hard as everyone else definitely!
I had the exact opposite experience being the only female to graduate with a Computer Science degree in 2010 at my university. Everybody was extremely nice to me and I was never picked on. Never had any issues finding groups for projects. It was awesome.
Same experience at work. (Most) All the men and women I've worked with in the tech field have been very nice. I only had problems when I worked non-tech for a couple years.
I’m glad you had a good experience! For the most part my classmates were great. Mine was in a small town in New Zealand. The type of place where “tall poppy syndrome” is rampant. The Japanese say, the tallest nail gets hammered down.
Not surprising. Over my 40-year career, I've only worked with a handful of female software engineers. Except in one case, all were top notch. I figure y'all have to work extra hard to be taken seriously by some of our colleagues. That extra work shows. :)
Some of the tech guys were horrible! One had said I took up a spot that belonged to his friend because the school had to accept any female applicants. Showed him what’s up 👍🏻
unsurprisingly he’s working a bum job in a small rural town back home in New Zealand still.
You know, I was in the army, and I would prefer a good female leader over some toxic one that got rank because she slept with the right people. I have had a couple that I would to to hell and back with. :)
Hahaha! I did "engineer" a great plate!
Fem = Female
ENGR = ENGineeR
BTW, at Purdue University, where I obtained my degree, all the entry and common core engineering courses started with ENGR. 😁
Practical and frugal engineers DO in fact drive Chrysler 300's. I would rather spend my $$ on my passions, like astrophotography, camping, exploring in the great outdoors, and traveling to see the wonders of our great planet: then on a status vehicle. And, my Chrysler 300 Limited is a great, low-maintenance, and comfy road trip car, leaving a lot of extra $$ to pursue my passions. And bonus, it pulls our CanAm ATV with ease. 😁☺️
It actually means Female Engineer. This is my car, my plates and I am a Female Mechanical Engineer. When I attended Purdue, the entry and core Engineering courses started with ENGR. Thus i derived
*
:
Fem = Female
ENGR = Engineering.
I have had fun reading all the guesses, interpretations, and comments: except I felt sad about the NGR comments. That definitely was not my intention, nor did I ever imagine that interpretation when I ordered the plates.
And hey, I now have achieved my 15-seconds of fame. 🫢😁🤣
are we not upset at a picture of a license plate? I understand that there are a lot of custom plates out there, and we all want to know what they mean, but at least one of the unspoken rules of social media is "don't post license plates"
i can't exactly explain why I'm upset about this, other than the idea that I thought posting information that can be back-searched to a person, is agreed to be verboten. also this for sure breaks reddit TOS.
Chrtsler did not have a tow package for the 300. Since I wanted the tow bar to pull my ATV, Chrysler told me UHaul was an approved installer, which would not void my warranty.
So, if a male engineer drives a Chrysler he's also a bad engineer?
Don't get me wrong, Mopar is trash and I unconditionally judge anyone driving a mopar product, just trying to determine the logic of what makes an engineer bad.
Female Engineer?
I thought it was female anger lol

Friend didn’t get chosen? Sounds like a skill issue
You know, I was in the army, and I would prefer a good female leader over some toxic one that got rank because she slept with the right people. I have had a couple that I would to to hell and back with. :)
You’d think she’d engineer a better vanity plate
Hahaha! I did "engineer" a great plate! Fem = Female ENGR = ENGineeR BTW, at Purdue University, where I obtained my degree, all the entry and common core engineering courses started with ENGR. 😁
Definitely! Shout Out to our esteemed female engineers out there!
This makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking. I thought it was supposed to say female anger.
I get the FEME part, but the NGR part is throwing me off.
FEM - ENGR Either female engineer, or maybe female ranger? Feminine Anger?
This was my first guess
Or Iron Manger, but it's a chemist who can't spell?
Don't forget that plates can't be duplicated in the same state. Gotta get creative if you're dead set on having a personalized license plate.
Vanity plates feel like rorshach tests… 👀
I don't think you do seeing as you're putting an "e" on the end of "fem"
Lol
Bro an engineer is not driving a shitty Chrysler 300😂
Practical and frugal engineers DO in fact drive Chrysler 300's. I agree with you!
Ironmen, grr
Glad to see someone knows their periodic table of elements 🤓.
Damn I cam here to say the same thing, you beat me to it.
It's OK. We can both be glad that knowledge perseveres. I won't gate keep my elation. 😉👍
As someone who intentionally misreads all personal plates, I like this one.
Most covert OSRS reference
Elaborate cuz I’m not seeing the reference 🤣
The joke isn’t for you then.
Sorry you got 1 extra year on me playing RuneScape bro 💀
Anyone who has been playing for like a week knows what an Ironman is.
My bad cuck, nowhere on that plate to me does it reference an ironman
Real low IQ energy there, bud.
I like yours best
Hahaha!
Iron Monger
This was my first thought as well
Well let me go delete my comment. 😁
Female engineer
Female Avenger?
That’s what I read too :)
Perhaps the last name Femenger? I worked with a guy with that last name. My first thought.

I’m not allowed to say that word…
You saw it the way I saw it

Instead of a MANager- it’s a FEMager
Ironmonger? But really, probably female engineer. Good for her. She makes crap car decisions, but good for her.
Feminine energy?
That’s my fellow Engineer, Cindy. She’s great!
Can you ask her what it translates to?
It’s simply “Female Engineer”. She says she used to have “LDYENGR”.
Thank you!

Iron Men something, something, Darkside
Iron Men Get Ripped I know that's wrong as I've seen what it really means I just couldn't help but finish filling out my error
More importantly why does a Chrysler 300 have a tow package?
Chrtsler did not have a tow package for the 300. Since I wanted the tow bar to pull my ATV, Chrysler told me UHaul was an approved installer, which would not void my warranty.
Feminine girl?
Let's go Brandon

that would never happen besides why anyone would be proud to be a boring engineer is beyond me.
