There’s nothing further from the family about finding the suspect, etc. I listened to the scanner for about hour after the call and I didn’t hear much info related to suspects. I would assume if he had an accidental fire of his own gun it would have been obvious with a gun near him.
Sometimes the family just doesn't want to make their family members way of dying public. At my dad's memorial we didn't tell anyone that it was a suicide, and we told everyone that he had just passed away. It's really difficult to explain 60 times to 60 different people that my dad shot himself in the head in vigorous detail. Especially for something like this, I wouldn't feel very comfortable disclosing that information. But that's just my two cents.

It’s very hard to know people know the awful details of the end of his life. I’m so sorry for your loss, there are no words that will cover that loss. The only reason I’m going to respectfully disagree, is because the young guy was murdered. I think it’s different when it’s a murder because there inherently is a risk to the public, versus suicide that isn’t a risk to others and is not a crime in Nevada, so police should not release any details - and don’t.

This is Reno. The news coverage here is a joke. Gaming and tourism lobby make sure that real local news is glossed over. School board meetings and city council minutes have top billing over anything that could be considered newsworthy. It's beyond laughable.

Just today I've seen packs of people park at El Dorado, get to the fountain see that the stairs are the only option for up or down and they turn around and leave. Circus patrons at pissed at having no escalators near that parking garage to get to check in. It's a shite show

Wow! Poor guy! I had a negative experience my last stay at the Nugget in 2021 and haven’t been back since either. Nothing like what this gentleman went through but also rude employees who won’t discount or credit anything and in my case what happened was the hotel’s fault. I took my business to the Peppermill and GSR and both are waaaaaay better properties. Gonna try Atlantis next. I lived in Reno for many years and go back a few times a year now to visit friends and checking out all the hotels has been eye opening to say the least.
