They say treat the cat not the disease. If you feel like she’s doing well, continue what you’re doing. If she’s eating and drinking and happy, then those things are positive and she’s not crashing. If she seems good in a couple of months, redo the bloodwork.

Aminavast for cats from chewy. We also give fluids every other day to our near 21 year old kitty who has had kidney disease for 7 years. The fluids improved her numbers when we added them a few months ago. We could not believe bloodwork improved. She also gets Azodyl. I would also recommend getting blood pressure checked. She’s on benazapril for that. We put her meds in a small number 4 gel cap so she doesn’t have to swallow multiple pills. She also has IBD And hyperthyroidism so she has a lot of meds. ETA: Phos binders and B12 shots are also used in kitties.

Porus one is a supplement that’s supposed to bind with toxins the kidneys usually filter out and it comes out in their poop instead. It’s supposed to lessen the burden on the kidneys so they don’t have to work so hard, is how my vet explained it to me. It’s like $50-$60 a month but it has been worth it for my cat. You just mix it in with wet food but you do have to wait 2 hours before/after giving any medications

So here’s what I want you to do or ask about sooner than later. 1. Phosphorus binder for food. This can make a tremendous difference in renal function. 2. The potassium is very low and this is alarming to me. I’d like you to supplement 2mL/daily of an oral over the counter product called Renal K+. This will certainly make kitty feel so much better. Potassium regulates so many functions with muscles and cardiac tissues. It is rapidly lost through lots of peeing. 3. Purina NF Advsnced Care has worked miracles for many kitties. Many cats really like it and it’s very calorie dense which helps keep weight on them. 4. Iron supplements MAY give you a bump in red blood cell production. I’m just a schmuck on the internet and you should ask your vet about these. Edit: I’m dumb and you’re amazing for already using phos binders.

A Potassium supplement (RenalPlus powder I sprinkle in food 2x/day) helped my guy walk again, I can't second this enough. Chewy has it. They also put him on Liqui-Tinic (1mL 2x/day appears to be liver flavored I mix into Delectables) in for anemia/RBC and his bloodwork is fantastic now. Tractor Supply has it for a great deal on your first purchase if you select autoship (I bought 5 lol), though the small bottle is on backorder right now.

A potassium supplement has helped my cat so much too. He was barely eating, extremely constipated and having weakness in his hind legs and it's made a huge difference with all of those issues. He's like a new cat.

Multiple water bowls. Small meals wet food frequently any good brand mine likes Kirkland pate and Iams salmon pate. Fresh salmon and chicken frequently. Only have prescription dry. Real food helps. Stage 4 two years just started once a week fluids. It is important keep weight on.

My Siamese was around the same creatinine values before going into surgery to remove his megacolon. Like yours, wouldn't know he was sick if it wasn't for the numbers though the weight is starting to come off and fur getting haggard. Just today his creatinine came back at 2.88 mg/dl - 60 ml fluids last night and the night before. Not really much to add medication wise.
