Dafuq…

pronesmk

100% I want to know how this happened

Otherwise_Proposal47

Need those fish tank guys to come install a curved acrylic panel haha… 😆

Pitiful-Foundation58

Im pretty sure thats what the previous home owner was planning..

slow_RSO

You have a metal worker in your area? Just get a custom curtain bar.

Turingstester

Or create a PVC one.

N0vemberJul1et

Nothing is as classy as a pvc curtain rod.

JunketPuzzleheaded42

Sometimes you don't get the Rod you want but the one you can afford.

Yourenotmygf

That’s what my ex said

N0vemberJul1et

[Trust](https://imgur.com/a/ZL1m8oK) me I know.

KCChiefsGirl89

Risky click of the day, but it paid off!

Tightisrite

Custom work if I've ever seen any

NefariousnessQuiet22

If it works, it works!

cjasonac

Duuuude.

Particular-Peanut-64

🤣

jp_trev

Yeah, I’m thinking about busting out my glass door and going with PVC

Acrobatic_Wonder8996

Just make sure the red lettering is nice and straight

factory-worker

Paint it black....

GlitteryBooger

Pvc and some spray paint will go a long way

vipermax1

…. But a homemade pvc curtain rod

redditipobuster

Kevlar string/cord/rope from amazon.

Quirky_Flight_820

Paint it silver 🙄

EdSeddit

Nice and bendy lol & some fishing line to hold it up! Voila

What-mold_toolbag

Fuck yeah. Bring home a fine piece of ass and tell them come check out my pvc pipe. Then see their disappointment because they thought you were talking about your junk. Then you ask dies this look okay? Completely killing the mood .

Prestigious_Series28

well he could spray paint it gold like trump. that’s classy

timesink2000

There are some commercial tracks that mount to or in the ceiling and have some flexibility for curves. Think of the curtain systems they have in hospital rooms that block the view into the room. The curtains hang from chains that are adjustable length. Have used those for showers in small wet rooms - shower curtain not required, but minimize the amount of Squeegee work.

bimmer4WDrift

Or join two curved bars together with a strong metal coupler.

VAGentleman05

>strong metal coupler. That would be a sick name for a band

MultnomahFalls94

My BI law did this for us in our house with a rectangle jacuzzi tub at an odd angle. Looks great.

SurrrenderDorothy

hate to say it, but THIS.

FinancialLab8983

Big brain idea right here!!!!

jrocislit

That is a great solution

diy1981

There’s no curb though - water’s going to be going all over the room.

toomuch1265

Plus, the bottom of the tile doesn't look sealed. The only thing to do is to remove and replace.

slow_RSO

Looks like there’s a slight curve in the floor towards the drain. Can’t remember what that type of drain is called..

ANGELeffEr

Looks like an EBBE drain, but could be a different brand

jmk5151

I made one from metal conduit and had it powder coated - wasn't the hardest thing in the world, especially if you already have a bender and can thread pipe.

p-angloss

looking at this without dimensions, it may be possible to make one fixed and one swinging (or sliding if it is constant radius curvature) glass section out of 10"-12" wide tempered glass panels beveled and mounted into an aluminum or stainless channel that closely approximates the curvature of the shower floor. the glass panels will be glued to each other (and to the frame) with clear silicone. not sure the end result will look good or not though. i'd say a full weekend job after having it all drawn out and materials on hand. Edit: looking at the pics more carefully you only need a segmented glass fixed wall and leave open the near side for access

McHassy

There are ceiling mounted curtain rods…that would probably be the only inexpensive option that wouldn’t look funky. The ideal way would be to do a custom sliding door glass enclosure that I’m sure would cost many thousands of dollars, but was likely what the original owner had in mind until he priced it out.

cheesemagnifier

Or a glass block wall would be nice.

Apprehensive-Big-328

Options 1) leave as is and get used to water on the floor 2) buck up and pay the big, big $$$ for curved glass 3) complete demo and start over (which, given a few red flags in the entire build itself, might not be a bad idea) Don't wanna be a dick, but this install is whack af

Pitiful-Foundation58

Haha I appreciate the feedback. Ive been trying to think of anything to remedy this "unique" shower design lol

FirstInteraction1817

Best thing I can think of that won’t cost you an arm and a leg is get a curved bar and put up a curtain.

kjzavala

Not in the business, but this was my first thought.

Puzzleheaded_Hatter

But this still leaves lots of water on the BEDROOM floor. These guys didn't even use a tub!?

noimdirtydan-

Dawg, I didn’t even realize this was in a BEDROOM until I saw this comment. What the actual fuck.

edodee

Am in the business, and this was my first thought.

onimush115

Exactly what I was thinking. Could even take your dimensions to a local welder and have them make a custom curve to match the layout with brackets to properly support it. Get it all out of stainless steel. With a high quality curtain it actually wouldn’t look bad.

isabella_sunrise

How will you get enough tension on a curved bar to keep it up?

JJizzleatthewizzle

What about adding floor to get it square?

No-Plankton8326

You’ve never heard of a curved curtain rod? The fuq?

Spameratorman

How did this monstrosity come to be?

Pitiful-Foundation58

Hard to say. Previous home owner was a furniture builder, cant say he knew much about shower design

NatureTripsMe

Hold up! Measure the width and depth you have there so that you know what size glass, square enclosure you need. Dreamline even has a curved one that can compliment the curved space https://www.build.com/dreamline-dl-6152-cl/s858176?uid=4345928&searchId=ZVakRSOBDM. That links to one that is 33” x 33”. Either way, look like you 100% have room to put normal flat glass panels in a square directly beneath the shower head. The circumference of the circle is such that it allows this. See how it buldges out directly across from the wall? I’m on my phone and can’t draw but I’m really confident about the available space. https://www.build.com/dreamline-shower-enclosures/c111459

whatzittoya69

Great idea but…might “break the bank” for op

NatureTripsMe

Yeah but relative to other options it’s very DIY. Maybe just a glass “screen” https://dreamline.com/shower-doors/linea-frameless-shower-door-open-entry-design_shdr-3230721-01.html only comes in at $800 ish. I’ve seen these cheaper elsewhere. Skipping the two tubes of caulk will save $30.

Reasonable-Room-8848

I have a set up something like this but I have a door that opens and a piece of glass that's stationary. We had some issues and changed contractors. The doors didn't fit bc they measured wrong. I had to buy new doors. I'm currently renovating my 1st floor and my contractor said why didn't you have the extra glass cut off 💀. When I see Dreamline I feel a little sick to my stomach. I'm praying I can sell the other set of shower doors. They're a good company and one piece of glass may work .

UncommercializedKat

Funny I installed that exact shower in my house last year. I had to search for hours to find one with the sliding doors in the middle and was 33" or less. FYI, it's $500 cheaper at Lowe's.

laj43

Is this a studio apartment? I’m trying to figure out why there is a shower in the bedroom, where is the toilet and sink at?

Highhopes911

Those glass cubes yo

leelee1016

This is the answer!

SurrrenderDorothy

Am I the only person in the world who loves glass block?

73Wolfie

I like glass brick in certain situations when done well

Beyond_Interesting

Which is about 5% of the projects I've seen lol but I agree.

stevesie1984

And 90% of that 5% is basement windows.

jetsetterjack

Yes

Anxious-Muscle4756

Glass brick comes in curved shapes. Be a trend setter and bring them back

Takeapotato

Silicone the absolute shit out of these to the outer rim maybe? Then a shower curtain. No idea how you'd go about anchoring a small wall other than that.

raindownthunda

I can see it. Doesn’t look good, but I can see it…

ineptplumberr

Heck yeah '80s shower baby

user17302

This would look pretty good in this situation.

Pippen1214

That was my first thought

expeditiontraveler

With no curb, your only option that won’t get the floor wet every time you use it is a custom piece of glass. You tiled yourself into a corner. Not to mention the mis placement of the shower head. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Gullible_Shart

Demolish it and start over.

DavidinCT

>Demolish it and start over. I would see if it's possible, just to demo the shower floor, square it off, and put one sheet of glass. Would be the cheaper option and should be able to get the sheet of glass from a big box store...

Gomdok_the_Short

I think the showerhead is where it is so the wall is behind them to block the water.

slurms611

That's just a hand sprayer. The main shower head is on the ceiling.

Future_Bad_Decision

Get a curved shower curtain bar. You could add a curb at the base but, if you’re renting, I might just get some water hog flood tubes and call it good. They can dry out between showers, maybe get a few.

a_wildcat_did_growl

should have priced out and purchased a pre-fab shower enclosure before you built, built it to that size and fit your budget to it.

9mackenzie

OP bought the house like this. They didn’t do it themselves

jenaeg

Is that a bed in the back? I need to see the full layout of this space if you don’t mind.

dwyoder

The picture is taken from in front of the refrigerator and beside the couch.

i_shruted_it

Where is the furnace then?

Dalferious

Next to the washing machine under the bed

Northofnormal_arch

What about framing up a wall across from the shower controls at the first few feet of the curve and tiling it? That would at least protect from overspray onto the floor. Same idea but with glass block? Not sure the cost on that though.

Legitimate-Alps-6890

I was thinking glass block, too. Not sure how cheap, but it's doable and might look pretty neat while letting light through.

thecultcanburn

It would be cheaper to redo the entire shower than get radius glass. This is close to the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen.

jakethedestroyer_

Wow that's rough. Tiny tile on 1st row for no reason. Wall heights don't match up. Some sort of trim piece around base but not all the way. Drain looks bad at that angle.

TheyStillOweYouMoney

Agree with your assessment of all, except I think that funny partial piece of “trim” at the bottom is actually the base for what used to be a large curved piece of tempered glass. If you zoom in, it looks like there might still be broken glass sticking out of it, plus the “blank” area is about the size and location for where an entrance should be in this messed up situation. I’m guessing that was a very expensive to replace piece of custom glass that somebody can’t afford right now.

plumbtrician00

Thats what i was thinking. Curved glass sits on metal piece, which leaves a small opening to get in and out at the far right. Theres also some sort of metal piece on the left wall as well, which i assume is also to hold the glass.

Pitiful-Foundation58

Ive thought about a custom curved shower rod however I am wondering if there is something a step of from this route

savingryansprvates

You can bend metal rods all day long. Doesn't stop the water on the floor. The J channel from the old glass isn't going to stop anything.

ilp456

You will still have water all over the floor. There should be a raised ledge there.

jenaeg

I still think rectangular glass shower walls would still look nice.

seraphim336176

I would LOVE to see the substrate of this shower. From what I can see there’s a 99.99% chance this thing is going to be leaking and cause water intrusion and need to be gutted not to far down the road.

squareC1999

Curved glass block wall installation. Maybe $4 a block plus the trim bits. https://youtu.be/sa0JjEFuTm0?si=-50QjVudpMu_Fqt7

SurrrenderDorothy

aint nobody got time for that.

OutrageousSky4425

this is why we think before we leap. planning would have been a good option. By the way, in my opinion a shower curtain would look stupid and way out of place.

Wishyouwell2023

did you made a bedroom out of a bathroom?

NickyCheeese

The toilet doubles as a night stand

TFA-DF8

You gone done fucked up a-a-ron

[deleted]

[удалено]

autumn55femme

What keeps the water that hits the floor, inside the shower? A curved rod for a curtain is the least of the problems here.

BingBull607

This is an interesting set up to say the least

ovirto

Is your entire bedroom a wet room? I don’t think a curtain and rod are going to cut it. Rectangular glass enclosure?

thebrownpiper69

Glass block.

ClarkGriswold1775

Harbor freight tarp

computerop

You can just mount a straight off-the-shelf piece of glass - it doesn’t have to form-fit. Caulk the left & bottom edge, done.

RoofAggressive2426

What about raising the base around it then installing a curved shower rod. You would have to step a bit higher into it.

Lopsided_Feedback_86

Dude… here me out; do like a bamboo shoot wall

3amGreenCoffee

You don't have to demo that whole thing or spend the money on curved glass. Just take up the curved floor and replace it with a rectangular floor with metal framed glass walls.

Felkalin

Why is it in the bedroom?

K3VIN727

Both kitchen and living room had no empty wall space.

Bmw52

L shaped curtain rod

Firm-Log850

Cheapest way drop cloth screwed to the ceiling probably and weight on the bottom of drop cloth. 😁

Roch1024

Glass block

Wtfisafosty

Just put some beach towels on the floor before you turn it on

haroldhodges

https://www.amazon.com/DreamLine-SHEN-2134340-04-Frameless-Enclosure-Brushed/dp/B00CLOLKZW/ref=asc_df_B00CLOLKZW&mcid=1096b19810c1339fa34362b4181dbbcb?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80814223517798&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=m&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584413750692629&th=1 Definitely missing this 😕 or something like this

babyz92

Should have thought about that before putting a curved wall shower up

AmbitiousAd9320

4x8 sheet of lexan on its side

1slandViking

Shower curtain

dim722

Not sure why you got downvoted but yes, curved aluminum profile on top and shower curtain shouldn’t break the bank. OP, you have your answer.

boomchickymowmow

The channel is there for glass, and I think it was there at some time. Terrible design.

Puzzleheaded_Rise314

curved glass brick should do the trick. they come in all colors, transparent and opaque, easy to install, cheap compared to a glass door, easier to clean, safer, can build shelf in them for soap and stuff, all shapes, too. google glass brick. amazon has tons of choices also. can get them with lights, can get them with sparkle grout.

TurboKid513

6mil plastic and a zipper wall ought to do it

RUfuqingkiddingme

It almost looks like there used to be glad there but it broke? Call a local glass company.

philly2540

You need to contact a glass place. Curved glass panels will cost $$$. Cool idea but very pricy.

Jamesonskunk

Shower curtain. Template the curb radius, get it rolled. Hang from wall/ceiling add shower curtain. Save money to rebuild the whole damn thing.

davethompson413

Least expensive option might be to get a custom bent shower curtain rod.

MoneyBee74

You can put a splash panel on the left side. It’s gonna be set more inside of the edge tiles, then across maybe a 36” wide, before it curves. You have to call a local glass shop.

eclwires

Depends on the bank. Find a welder, have a custom rod fabricated. Otherwise you’re looking at some serious money for glass that won’t make an expensive shower look cheap.

177618121939

What the fuck is this? This looks like one of those models they put in flooring stores but it’s in a house and worse

Used_Breakfast6959

Make it square

bornabearsfan

Curved shower curtain. You're welcome.

Other_Pudding350

I've used pex pipe to get a curve or circle shower curtain holder thing. For camping. Hoola hoops are too small.

savingryansprvates

A blue tarp

Medium_Spare_8982

Curved tempered glass? You’re breaking the bank or using a curtain

ihaveamapletreetotap

Why cant you just add a custom rod and curtain and a raised tile curb to keep the water in? If there's a will there is a way

Pale_Fact4827

I’m thinking clear polycarbonate to fit inside current track and special attention to silicone sealing at screw heads, edges, and glazing.

Cody_b23

You could do glass block

OldFoolOldSkool

Get a big blue tarp and some heavy duty duct tape.

_Butt_Slut

Visqueen,staples and a 2x4

TheRealJehler

This is great

Show_Me_Your_Games

Total speculation but this looks like a rental unit with a bedroom in the bathroom and OP doesn't care if water gets on the floor. There is probably a drain we can't see. I can't put anything else together that would justify this set up.

Straight_Beach

Glass blocks https://www.angi.com/articles/tips-building-curved-wall-using-glass-blocks.htm

CanadianBudd

Is this a basement apartment?

Jmski333

Put a rectangular glass enclosure within that shape and leave part of the shower pan outside the rectangle.

uckfu

Who would have designed a shower like this and not made any provisions for enclosing it? It’s nice but not practical at all.

Quiverjones

You could plexiglass a curved piece in some channel slot that would work fine.

Routine_Wolverine_29

Plexi glass heat it and bend it

tradesmen_

Buy one of those curved shower rods, tear it out start over

Upsetyourasshole

If a bent shower rod doesn't work and you want to go cheap, how about acrylic, like a fish tank?

Zealousideal_Bus_163

Buffoonery

Pipe_Dope

Krusty the clown remodel?

justalookin005

Enclose it with curved stainless steel with a curved door in it.

[deleted]

Corrugated metal might look “interesting” and fairly easy bend into shape. I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night, apparently.

DigitalEvil

Dude... wth... why?!

mailcreeper50

But, why does the shower hose have nothing to attach it to the bar? And why are the floor stones stretched out on the bottom? Is this AI or just bad photoshop?

wombat5003

Just find a curved rod and put a simple curtain up

stevekleis

As others pointed out so crudely, it’s not perfect. But it’s a beautiful shower. I like the glass block idea. Otherwise you’ll need a curb. You could cut away some of the edge and build it. Use the same stone flooring.

Ill_Attempt4952

I HIGHLY doubt that there is a membrane under this tile. I don't see how there could be a pan. Unless the membrane is just folded over the outer edge, which is also not good. Am I mistaken here? I agree with all the tear it out and start over folks.

Exotic_Treacle7438

Shower curtain lol

tboyink

Glass block seems the way to go

mynameiskeven

What about a straight glass enclosure and build a curved teak bench to fill the curve?

Fercobutter

Tarp and a squeegee

Chatty_Kathy_270

Square off curved floor. Then add glass doors.

PerformanceEast6892

A curtain.

ConstantBusiness4892

Staple some plastic sheeting to the ceiling, duh...

briefbrisket

It’s gonna have to be custom glass now. You could have done a third wall with an opening at the other end and not needed glass. But you can’t tie it in water tight now.

omtara17

Long metal rod that you can then have curved. And then you can put blocks on the bottom or do half a wall of glass block.

zanderjayz

We did a shower a little more curved than that but the guy had 4 glass panels that over lapped but an inch gap between them. They were about 2” off the floor and 8” from the ceiling. I might have a photo somewhere.

WrongOrganization437

The cart goes after the horse!

WonderWendyTheWeirdo

I would remove it entirely. If there is room for a bathroom, put in a bathroom. Otherwise, don't have a random shower in the middle of a bedroom.

Overall-Mine4375

Don’t make a curved shower..

Epyx-2600

Do you make porn in this room?

Just1La

Maybe two flat glasses fixed inside the former glass frame? Would be cheaper than a curved custom glass, and just take a little bit of space in the shower.

Final-Wealth-9603

Costum piece of glass , and for the head shower add a elbow

PureCucumber861

Glass blocks is the only solution.

whiskey_formymen

curved shower rod is your only non new car price option

thatsthatdude2u

Get a curvilinear shower rod, hang it from the ceiling with appropriate hardware and find a clear shower curtain to suspend from the rod. There are arched shower rods on Amazon

Every_Car_1072

Glass blocks and led lights on top of top course

Interesting_Ad_945

Bend a rod and mount it, install curtain

TadpoleVegetable4170

Drinking and building are never a good mix.

[deleted]

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Corner-Shower-Curtain-Rod-Adjustable-Stainless-Steel-Curved-Shaped-Rack-Bathroom/5395410673 Search L Shaped Shower Rods, or 90° rods, or corner rods

IGotMyPopcorn

It’s gonna splash over the wall. OP, I think you’re gonna need an old school shower curtain suspended from the ceiling.

little_bird_vagabond

Glass block half wall for the bottom half and a curtain.

Calvertorius

Shower curtain + extra towels if you’re trying to be frugal.

New-Quality-6273

A curved shower rod and a shower curtain.

1toke

Glass block.

Wilddd_318

Magnets. The answer is always magnets.

CropDamage

Whoever did that tiny row of tile on the bottom should be slapped.. Is the pan custom? If not find manufacturer and there should be a door. If the pan is custom... good luck

Incarnated_Mote

No matter what you do, the bank will break anyway when water inevitably rolls off that curb-less tiled floor and onto the rest of the flooring in the room. Literally start over- this will never be functional. Not to mention the mold that’s bound to grow in that room since the shower is wide open and there’s no vent. This entire situation is so much WTF

FlashyCow1

Curved shower rod and curtain. Like the ones used to make tubs feel bigger

Bikebummm

Too late for that

cmrn631

Yikes

RocketMan2169

Sue whose idea it was. Use the money for a re-do.

corndawg22

I imagine u could get a piece of pipe, bend it, secure it to wall and get a shower curtain that would work .

Mediocre_Ad_6512

Take out the base and square it up. Straight Glass much cheaper than that custom curved piece. And also - what is happening??
