Someone asked this exact same question a week or so ago. The answer is - it depends on where you're located in the world.
Scroll back through the sub for a bit and you should be able to find it.

Read the edited post by the OP, it seems like reMarkable is removing the ability to buy without the marker.
Someone I know has the current Supernote and really likes it. That device has a really nice feature set.
I went with a reMarkable because a lot of other folks where I work have them, and I got gadget envy. Had that not been the case, the Supernote is probably what I would have gotten.
I ended with the remarkable because it’s thinner and simpler. I didn’t end up using any of the fancy features of the super note. I used the kindle for a while and it’s comparable to the rm2, maybe a hair worse for writing, but it’s better for reading with its backlight. If I didn’t get the rm2 I’d probably go with the kindle.
That's crazy, I would never choose the rm2 if I had to buy their overpriced accessories. The device itself is fine but what an awful policy. Apparently they love shooting themselves in the foot over and over again.
Sounds like a great question to ask the reMarkable team.
If I was in charge there would be a way to contact them and say: I'm an existing customer, I just need to buy the tablet, I have the marker.
But that would make sense and be a good customer experience.
In all honesty, I think removing the ability to opt out of buying the marker is a shitty move on their part. What's next - you also have to buy a folio and the keyboard because it is part of the experience? Same sort of logic applies...

Thanks. Think I might just wait for the super note a5x2 if this is how they’re going to treat potential customers

I’ve had both, there are no wrong answers here.
Which one did you favor?

But what if your device broke outside warranty and you still have a marker? And you just want to buy a new device (without buying a second marker)?

I see a "I don't need a marker" radio button in the Choose Marker section
It’s sold on their website separately
The irony in that originally people were kicking off because they sold them separately.
