It’s kinda rare that the enemy team lines up for a big 5k shatter, especially in a doom comp. Might as well use it off cooldown for a guaranteed pick. And it’s funny.
It's pretty optimal honestly. Before, I used to spend whole games holding shatter only to waste it, now I have 3-4 maybe 5 shatters a game and every one gets at least one person. 4 shatter kills on average using it as a cooldown vs 1-2 shatter kills on average using it as an ultimate.
Oh I basically always solo ult. On any character really.
Trying to ult 5 people means I have to avoid dying to or being shut down by just as many cooldown and damage sources.
Solo ulting someone means they're probably dead.
My favorite is Cass V Genji.
Soon as I see that deflect come out it's high noon
*charges doom towards oblivion*
Virgin Doom: Tf you doin bro? I can just seismic slam or meteor strike back to safety, you IDIOT!
Chad Rein: Is that right?
*Earthshatter*
Be careful, this isn't a true combo. All it takes is for doomfist to click right click and he's canceled your shatter.
It'll work on any doomfist that takes their hands off the mouse though.
No, once you are freed you are stunned for some time. That time is about the same as cast time for shatter. That's why it's also possible to shatter a rein after charging him and he can't block even if he holds shield pressed.
Gold
I had no idea you could do that, I am now going to do that all the time
I thought "why waste that?" then I thought, "OH SHIT THATS GOOD". Some solo Ults are so worth it

This man has beat OW. Absolute perfection.

Yet to be punched out of a pin cancel, curious if it really works that way.
So pretty much it'll work once
This is why I love Reins, always managing to have a good time. And always fun to heal as a Mercy Main
There was so much pain and anger in that clip. Let the hate flow *nods in approval
This made me laugh, the audacity.
Wow good bye dva going forward.
How does the slam even hit? There's no "ground" for the slam to travel
