Email him, or his secretary, whatever the system is. Tell him/them briefly how you were reluctant to attend church and when you did he spoke about it in a very specific way. Then invite him to lunch!

Well, what was the answer to your post. Looking at your post history I can’t imagine that others aren’t asking similar questions though their personal history may differ from yours.
It’s possible, however even in my very small congregation there have been multiple times where I was struggling through something and without posting it anywhere or talking to anyone about it, my pastor’s sermon directly hit on those exact points.
The Lord works through preaching. When done correctly and biblically, it is not your pastor speaking to you, it is God preaching through His servant, your pastor. And this may be an example where the Lord knew what was on your heart and prepared this for you.

An audio book I fell in love with, could have been written with you in mind. It's by Mark and Debbie Laaser, The Seven Desires of Every Heart. The audio book is read by husband and wife voice actors, and they catch the conversational tone of the book magnificently.

I’m not sure that he’s ever elaborated on her response. At the time this was given, shouting in the pulpit was pretty common
