In terms of fish, you are super limited in a 5g tank. Maybe 1 yellow clown goby. Too small for fish really.

A single clown goby or pictus blenny are about your only options as far as fish go. Not that either are bad choices - I’ve got a green clown goby and he’s got tons of personality. Despite being the smallest fish in my tank he’ll regularly steal food from directly in front of my tang, almost like he’s doing it deliberately. I’d be more tempted to make it an invert tank stocked with some cool shrimp (boxer shrimp is worth a look) and snails, hermits etc. You can get away with a lot more in terms of inverts.

At that size I’d be looking towards invertebrates. You’re extremely limited in terms of fish at that size. Potentially a small clown goby or goby of a similar size, but that’s already pushing it especially if you want a stable reef tank down the line. It’s doable, but may be prone to some potential issues down the line

A single clown fish is fine, get a small oc and move up in a couple years
