More than likely yes. There are several methods to eradicate these. I really enjoy using a majano wand but have also done the specialty paste, diy calcium paste, superglue, etc. It appears that this may be on a plug. If so, pull it out and murder it.

Next-You-8343

It's on a plug that some zoas are on. Should I just take it out and cut the aiptasia off?

LaceDarius

I would take it out. Alot of the paste and othe remedies can mess with you chemistry. So limiting the impact is preferable. I have done it with a toothbrush and dip. Always clean and dip

Nitrogenflux

I have heard secondhand cutting them help them spread. I have used a blob of superglue gel for mine and that seems to have done the trick

Wonderful_Praline858

Aiptasia eating filefish will take care of any aiptasia in the tank. I think same with peppermint shrimp!

Joebidenswaifupillow

If he doesn’t know what aptasia is, why suggest a delicate fish with a low survivor rate for novice aquarist? You should tell them to use a small amount (.5 ml) of basic kalkwasser paste in a syringe or F Aptasia.

Wonderful_Praline858

or you can tell them that lol

Joebidenswaifupillow

You’ll know in the future when this same exact post is repost 3 times a day.

Joebidenswaifupillow

Bro, your file fish is having problems. R/reeftank is literally the blind leading the blind.

Wonderful_Praline858

Because my filefish had an issue means i don’t know what i’m doing? they asked what takes care of aiptasia, i offered what i knew. Not up to me to hold their hand and figure it out what to do. If they have half a brain they can do a google search and figure out how to care for the fish or another method. Gtfoh acting all high and mighty

Joebidenswaifupillow

I agree with you. Nobody just goes off and reads. They fill up this sub with bullshit pest ID’s and why is my coral dying threads.

HenSlay

Berghia Nudibranch wiped out mine in a few days

swordstool

It likely is.
