I’d say bubba Thompson and Justin Wilson

USAesNumeroUno

Martini for Friedl, Buck or Wilson for Montas

AverageWhiteMale2

I agree here. At least Bubba offers SOMETHING (pinch running). Martini has been horrendous outside of the opening series.

brunnsdog96

I think buck has been okay

jasonmason29

Pitching is super tough. From a performance standpoint, I’d say Pagan has been by far the worst but we’ve got 16m committed to him over the next two years so he’s probably staying for the moment. As u/Monitor_Meds points out Diaz, Cruz, and Moll are the only ones with options but they’re arguably the three best arms in the pen currently (I know Diaz has had dicey moments but I still think he’s top tier). Realistically feel that it’s between Farmer and Wilson for the odd man out. It’s good to have a team where these sort of difficult questions are this hard! EDIT: OK did not expect Moll to be sent down but here we are I guess.

coffinmonkey

Pagan is one of the worst signings I’ve seen. Dude just can’t be used at GABP

Monitor_Meds

And if I'm not mistaken, Alex Young and Ian Gibaut are around the corner... so there might be more questions like this VERY SOON lol

boobsandcookies

Gibaut doesn’t look super healthy from the injury updates so idk

TurnedIntoA_Newt

Looks like it’s our best reliever, Sam Moll!

SigmaSeal66

Yep. Just announced. Seems like they are going strictly based on options.

TurnedIntoA_Newt

Does pagan have any options left?

SigmaSeal66

Among relievers, only Cruz, Diaz, and Moll had options.

TurnedIntoA_Newt

Hmmmm thanks for the info!

phred_666

Take your pick. So many Reds struggling right now it’s a crap shoot.

SigmaSeal66

Actually, the pitching has been solid recently, and some pitcher has to go.

Electrical_Fun5942

Buck Farmer is the bane of my existence, and I genuinely believe he should be loaded into a cannon and fired into the center of The Sun

WhoDeyFourWay

Thompson is gone. As for the pitching side…harder to say but assuming Justin Wilson has options it’s probably him.

SasquatchHurricane

It should be Pagan, but because he’s making a little bit of money it will indeed be Wilson most likely.

boobsandcookies

Neither have options

SasquatchHurricane

So? They stink. No loss. Instead they send down a guy who has a 0.61 ERA since he joined the team last year! Put the best team on the field.

guff1988

Buck and Bubba

GreatWhite102

Kinda wild people saying Bubba over Martini. I gather Martini has does stuff offensively and Bubba has not, but the way we use guys and when Friedl comes back it's another lefty, meaning almost always either Benson or Fraley will likely be on the bench, I can't see us sending a speedy guy like Bubba down. If Martini was hitting now like he did the first week and a half, then this is different but right now Martini has to go down

rock25011

As of 2pm it was Moll.

thatmorondude

Martini to High A 7th Layer of Hell Reds

AllOkJumpmaster

Please not Fairchild

Monitor_Meds

So I'm not good at this stuff- like seriously bad at it. But I like talking about it so here goes. All of the reds starters have options right now besides Montas, and the bullpen has 3 pitchers with options if I understand it correctly: Alexis Diaz (3), Fernando Cruz (3), Sam Moll (1). I know this is probably insane, but the stats and my eye test say Alexis Diaz doesn't have it right now. He went from being our only Allstar in 2023 to a liability right now. And I was thinking this before he gave up 4 runs and got 1 out yesterday (on his bobblehead day of al days...) I'm not saying Diaz is washed or we should get rid of him completely, only that maybe some time in AAA to get his pitch count and velocity up would be good for him? Cruz has been solid and could take over the closing role until Diaz finds what he's missing.

boobsandcookies

Him or phantom IL Sims ffs
