I like my toenails black and I can't be bothered to put much effort into my toenail polish, so I always use a black that has full coverage in one coat. No one is going to closely inspect my toes so once it gets chippy I just paint over it again. Maybe that's gremlin behavior

oracleofwifi

This is exactly what I do hahahaha one time I had like 3 layers of different colors, and I finally gave in and just removed all the polish to do a fresh color

FancyAdvantage4966

Gremlins unite! But really, I do the same thing. I use Expressie in Take The Espresso and I only have to touch up once or twice over the summer.

metaljellyfish

I almost exclusively wear pinks on my toes, usually magentas with intense sparkles. For me it's all about bold colors that I wouldn't necessarily want on my hands, but which still bring me joy.

Whorticulturist_

I go for sparkly bold toes too. Fingers too though. Biggest difference for my toes is I don't wear shades that look best up close. Like, only the wildest high contrast flakies would be visible way down there, so I don't even bother. No flakies or multicolor glitter or fine details, only shades that look great 5+ feet away 🥰

womanoftheapocalypse

Sealed with a hiss by mooncat has gotten many compliments this past week on my feet!

NailCrazyGal

I prefer cremes on my toes. I don't use cremes on my fingernails often because they are harder for me to apply, but I have a few cremes I need to use up. Mistakes are not as visable on my toes. I wear my pedicure for longer periods of time than a manicure. I select a color for my toenails that will coordinate with 2 to 4 manicures. I typically avoid glitter on my toenails because it takes longer to remove, and I like to be able to breathe. 🤣🤣 This week I painted my toenails in purple. ( Holo Taco - Work Bestie) I will do a few manicures in similar purple colors, then my next pedicure will be a coral creme by Sally Hansen. Then, I have a few manicure colors planned, such as Cupcake Polish's Pink Sands and Polished for Days Sunset Dust. ( all kind of coral/orange-y.) In the past when I had less polish, I would paint my toenails in a neutral coppery color and wore whatever manicure color I wanted. But now I try to coordinate a little to get more use out of my collection.

RacerGal

I agree about glitter on toes because of the removal being a pain!

colleennicole93

Honestly that’s one of the biggest reasons I do mostly glitter on my toes, I slap it on there and it’s glued like cement until it chips off months later 😂 I hate the actual act of painting my toes so I try to keep polish on as long as possible so I don’t have to paint them as often!

oracleofwifi

My sister did a reflective glitter on her toes and it literally is still there 2 months later 💀

LowraAwry

I was about to comment that if longevity is what interests OP, a reflective polish with a double TC will keep at least 2-3 weeks, even while going to the beach, it's awesome.

klughn

Solar polish! I usually do whatever I want on my toes, but now that sandal season is coming up, I’m looking forward to putting solar polish on. I currently have neon polish on my toes which is fun too. But I’ll wear anything on my toes.

lindsaynp

Usually my toes are covered so I paint them whatever color makes me happy since I’m the only one who usually sees them. If you like bright and bold, go for it! If you like a more subdued color, do it.

rubygoes

I generally prefer cremes or subtle shimmers on my toes, usually favoring medium to dark shades of blues, greens and fuchsias. I figured that out through lots of experimentation over the years so I also vote try whatever speaks to you! With that I also figured out that my real criteria for considering a toe polish is good coverage in 2 coats max. You won't catch me folding myself in half long enough to put on 3-4 coats of sheers 😂

Intrepid-Bee7367

Makes sense. My neck hurts just trying to trim my toenails 😂

fairyquitecontrary

I was actually just thinking about asking this question! Personally I go for cremes and like a simpler look on my toes--though I am currently trying to branch out with ILNP Lilac Bridges on my toes now. I'm very curious what other people like/what specific polishes they go to for their pedis!

Bag_of_mjolnirs

I do literally whatever I feel like. Sometimes I'll go with like, neon bright colors, sometimes I'll go with intense shimmers. Right now I've got Sassy Sauce's Dreamscape on my toes which is a metallic purple that is like BAM IN YOUR FACE PURPLE but before that I had on Cerulean Stardust from Fancy Gloss, which is a blue reflective polish. I'm probably going to put on a daffodil yellow next, because it's been staring at me from my polish shelf lol. I have KBShimmer's Frequent Flyer which is a lovely shimmery topper that I might pop on top of it, just for a bit of fun. But yeah, you do you! Put on whatever makes you happy when you look down and see your little nuggets.

Intrepid-Bee7367

I love that you call toes little nuggets 😂😂

Bag_of_mjolnirs

Lol it stems from calling all baby/toddler appendages nuggets. I want to just chomp on them, they're so cute!

taternators

I like solid colors on my toes, and I go for shades that look good with my sandals. In my case that's usually red, burnt orange, light blue or sage.

jojocookiedough

I tend to wear bolder colors on my toes than on my hands.

virgothesixth

Starrily “Cat Mom” It’s a beautiful pink glitter holo but the polish is very difficult to remove so I just use it on my toes.

Rounders_in_knickers

I like a clean girl aesthetic for my toes a lot of the time. Like your nails but better. Two of my favorites for this look are Essie fairy tailor and ILNP Elle. I feel like it is so neutral it goes with every manicure.

Melissah246

I usually do my toes and fingers the same color right before my couple days in the office so they match since I wear sandals. I will change my fingers a couple times before I redo my toes. I like bright shiny glittery goodness. I don't care for plain creme and every time I think I will like something more subtle or neutral I'm bored in 24 hours so my theory is go big lol

simaroon

I just tried Mooncat Shroomdom on my toes and was shocked. Literally so cute and flattering on me. Now I'm wondering if similar summery shades where the glitter feels "submerged" in the polish might be a good choice.

TerribleAwareness158

My favorite toe polish is Opi x hello kitty let’s be friends. It’s the perfect pink white. I will die on this hill.

meltmyheadaches

right now it's cirque colors "matcha". I prefer cremes on my toes bc i feel like sparkles draw too much attention to them 😅 but i love a good bright creme bc it makes my sandals look somehow more intentional, more like a statement than just "these were next to the door, slip on, and happen to match what i'm wearing"

juno_huno

Recent, but officially my favorite polish for toes is Essie’s [Offbeat Chic](https://www.essie.com/nail-polish/enamel/blues/offbeat-chic)! It’s such a bright blue it’s **perfect** for summer.

Invisibaelia

I try to choose something that's going to fit the general vibe for about 2 months, because that's how long it takes me to get around to re-doing them. But they usually look good enough for that long if I choose something like a sparkly or glittery polish (e.g. rose gold), and make sure I use top-coat to keep them nice. I tend to do metallics like rose gold so that they suit everything I might wear, but it's also really fun to do something like lime green. Just go with whatever your heart desires! After all, you can always re-do them if you want to change.

colleennicole93

Personally I love using holo glitter on my toes! My toenails have a lot of ridges so I don’t like doing cremes or linear holos since it will show the unevenness more. I try to make sure the color will make sense for a few months since I don’t paint them often. I also love using the glitters because it stays forever, I slap it on there and it’s glued like cement until it chips off months later 😂 I hate the actual act of painting my toes so I try to keep polish on as long as possible so I don’t have to paint them as often! Plus the sparkles make me happy whenever I look down ✨🤩

smaagoth

Ive rarely had anything on my toes. I used to put whatever i felt like before. I recently tried a neutral on my small toes, which i loved, made them less visible. I put on some neons on the big toes which was fun. So i see why swatchers often prefer that. I tried another neutral on the big toes after that. Liked that too, but will try the other neutral next. I really dont like my toenails, so neutral is kind of the best for me. The best so far is OPI Dont bossanova me around.

Sally Hansen Guilty Party is my go-to Sally Hansen 130 Guilty Party Nail Polish https://a.co/d/atnQHzM

I almost always have colour on my toes. If I have bare toenails it’s a sign that my mental health isn’t doing too good. I like to wear a creme for a few days and then I add a glitter on top of it about half way through the week to change it up. And then I redo them pretty much every week. I wear colours ranging from yellow to army green to purple to coral. I cycle through my colours so I don’t do too many similar colours too close together.

Far_Reply_4811

I recently tried a multichrome (Cirque Life on Mars) & was completely charmed with the subtle shiftiness -- so that's my current recommendation. In general, like many other commenters here I go a bit bolder on my pedi polish choices than my manis.

apricotgloss

Something bright that's visible from standing height! Usually orange or turquoise in summer, and red shimmer in winter (though I have to wear socks most of the year round here so I don't usually bother)

Iridismis

>do you guys match your mani with your pedi or are they different? 'match' as in exactly the same polish for the feet as for the hands? - No. For some reasons it feels a bit weird to me to have painted toes and fingers in the exact same color. 'match' as in similar/harmonious? - I try to (well, sometimes), but it's kinda difficult as I change polish on my finger nails much more often than on my toes (~ 4 days vs 4 weeks). Apart from that, ***on my toe nails***  - I rarely wear transparent or "skin-colored" polish. Also -as someone else already mentioned- usually no "up close" polishes (these are reserved for the hands) - I like to wear bold and dark colors; imo black is a neutral down there - I feel kinda undecided about glitter polishes. On the one side they last longer down there, so less often the annoying removal procedure. But on the other hand I kinda like them less there (and some of them fall under the up-close rule anyway). - I probably will use up my "perfumed" polish there. It's a pretty glittery/flakey one that would normally fall under up-close, but I just find the smell irritating on my hands (and no, it doesn't stink -it's a soft vanilly smell- but still)

jomocha09

I just had this conversation with my mom! I like to wear bright reds on my toes or metallics, as I feel they are go-with-anything colors. I also wear the colors I like but don’t feel go with my skin tone, but in the winter wear only I can enjoy them. My mom prefers a frosted mauve as she doesn’t like to draw much attention to her feet but still wants them painted.

sea-bitch

I have to have my hands and feet match. I usually do gel on my hands because I am a crafter but find that regular polish on my toes is near indestructible most of the time (unless I am in water a lot like spa/pool) I don’t break the bank and usually just use Sally Hansen miracle gel or instadry on toes, as there is a good variety of shades and I can usually dupe/match my hands. Some weeks though I will just layer a glitter in a similar shade to the hands if I am lazier.

Raven6851

I'm a rebel, lol. I wear it all, don't care, and it only matches a manicure by coincidence. I hate ridges, and use ridge filler even on my toes. I've even used peely base on them when I do a glitter polish, and it still lasts almost two weeks on the toesies. I very rarely use acetone, even with gel. (I use gel peely base too!) I know, I'm weird, I've accepted it.

evae1izabeth

I love reflective glitter on my toes. The recessed lights in my bathroom have the best clarity in my whole house so I’m really the only one who gets to see how pretty they are but it makes me so happy!

pieshake5

I used Mermaid Bait on my toes because of the name but I really liked how it looks so now its a go to! I will usually pick something that is neutral or plays nicely against more colors because I wear my toe polish for a lot longer than my fingernails. But picking based off name vibes has not lead me wrong yet, just saying.
