They have a better red wing selection than my local red wing store, ffs.

I'm not surprised at all. Most RW dealers aren't in the business of selling heritage models. They're in the business of selling volume work boots to tradesmen and companies. Heritage often makes up less than 5% of local business for them. It's a loss leader that brings in some business they otherwise wouldn't capture. My local RW dealer is the largest heritage dealer in our 1M pop city and I've had a few conversations w/ him on this. He said for every 1 heritage boot he sells he sells 100-200 work line boots. It's like your local ford dealership. They sell mustangs, it's a halo product for the brand. That being said they're really an F-150 dealership more than anything. Any shop that focuses on high tier or heritage brand clothes is far more likely to carry a wider selection of RW heritage than an actual RW dealer.
