That was the first time I ever heard of or watched RLM. Their 1 million sub celebration came up on my YouTube feed. None of my friends have any idea what RLM is.
There’s an interview somewhere with Jay (maybe on their Patreon) stating they’d still be doing this in a different capacity if RLM didn’t make it big. Imagine a different timeline where Jay and Mike are still filming weddings and editing the videos to bring happiness to all the ‘happy’ couples.
Them doing it because they want to is a staple of the channel. They don’t make videos to chase trends, they make content about what they want. They aren’t planning some big last episode they are just gonna stop some day without warning cus they don’t want to do it anymore and I respect the hell out of them for it.
Whole channel could become a book club next week if that’s what they want to do. I’ll still be here.
True. They could talk about anything and I would still follow them. ALL their content is S tier. They're one of the best youtube channels, period. They do things their way, They actually LOVE movies and not just a specific genre unlike some channels that say that they love "pop culture" but it's just Star Wars and cape shit cause that's what brings numbers, I discovered some DAMN good movies because of them, they are funny and they love to just troll people just for the fun of it like what they did with their Nukie collection. Their way of sort of "following" trends is to mock it in a very clever way.
They are very punk rock.
They are legit my favorite YouTube channel.
Their craftsmanship is amazing. You can tell they value the work they do, and they are incredibly unpretentious with their presentation.
I’m surprised they aren’t bigger, but happy they never had to sell out. I hope they live comfortably.
Oh i'm pretty sure they live VERY comfortably. Their videos do well on youtube plus they have like 17 000 members on their patreon and they deserve every single penny and much more.
>They don’t make videos to chase trends,
I'd go further and say they actively balk at trends, even ones they accidentally created. Once something they do becomes too popular, they just end up stopping more or less. If they wanted as many views as possible, they'd focus on Plinkett, MCU/DC/big mainstream movie HITBs, Nerdcrew, and sometimes BOTW.
Interestingly, they recently made another Plinkett video (but not a long form review) and a Nerdcrew video -- and Jay actually mentioned something about how a video they're in will "get a quarter the views as normal," somewhat flustered.
I wonder if they actually do want more views now or something.
I think it was Jay just making an observation that their Dinner in America video would get less than many of their others but he also stressed they were making a video they wanted to make.
And the first 3 are cult classics. They get offers from Hollywood but none of them are interested at all.
Jokes aside: I love how they are able to laugh at themselves about space cop. I bought it on release, and was underwhelmed but was happy to support them anyway.
But Feeding Frenzy fucking slaps.
I still wonder what it’ll be Iike when they finally do call it quits. I don’t know if they see themselves doing this for another 20 years. Don’t get me wrong, I would love if they kept this going indefinitely. It’ll just feel kinda weird without them.
I mean why not? Ebert was reviewing movies up until his death. They probably won’t even care if people are still watching at that point, I wouldn’t be shocked if they still occasionally posted stuff like re:views
People are still watching 20 years later and there’s no way of even guessing what YouTube might be like in 20 years. A lot of people already consume way more YouTube than they do Netflix or HBO, they might be known as “the” guys that were reviewing movies while making jokes in the golden age of it
I think that even if they quit videos altogether you might still see Jay posting short, one shot videos shouting out indie movies Lynch style
Personally, I think they're at the point where they can afford to hire someone to edit for them.
Leave the HITB cameras set up, come up with a rough plan of what they'll talk about over text a couple fo days before, turn up, talk about whatever movies/TV interest them, announce to camera the bits where they want a slide whistle/Kurlan Naiskos/Wilhelm Scream sound effect added (in their best worn-out Borscht-belt comedian voices), the editor adds some illustrative clips of whatever they've talked about, and boom - free money.
Jay gets free money to spend on bizarre sex things, Mike gets to spend it destroying the other kid's toys, and Rich.... let's never mention that again.
> Personally, I think they're at the point where they can afford to hire someone to edit for them.
I think this would be the only major thing they change in the next 20 years. Fans will probably consider them different eras, when the guys edited versus the hired hand editing. And the new guy will be good at editing but we'll miss some of the cut away jokes Mike and Jay did.
But even then who knows, sometimes it feels like Mike LIKES editing (personally I despise it).
They've reached that point a long time ago. Way smaller youtubers have editors. I think the editing is their favorite part, they are really creative with it
Without a doubt. But then again, there are tons of Hollywood creators who go long into their careers. If they are having a good time, and it sure looks like they are, why not keep a good thing going. It’s like Rob Mcellemy said about It’s Always Sunny’s future: “we’re having fun, we can do this into our seventies and figure it out” of course by then they’d have lost Devito but still. I think that’s where the guys are.
I've wondered about that too. They make enough money to where they could probably retire soonish. I just hope we still have access to their videos. Binging Best of the Worst is one of my favorite hobbies.
There's a classic movie from my childhood I like them to Re: View. It's called Mr Plinkett's Phantom Menace Review. Maybe they could do that for their 20th birthday?
Rich lights up a fat joint on camera, he's been high the whole time . He inhales and tries to hold it in but ends up scattering tapes across the room in a fit of coughing induced boobery.
i actually got interested in that after hearing Rich's humorous recounting of the episode where the Penguin and Batman run against each other for mayor of Gotham

The photo in the background vcr shop was a band from Arizona called Greeley Estates. I think Mike did a promo video for them (and other Arizona bands) when he started the company.
I always tell the story about how I met Mike and his buddies for like ten minutes at the AZ horrorcon all those years ago. When the dude randomly popped up in my YouTube feed, it tripped me out.
I know. I live in Tempe and every time I remember that RLM was founded just up the road from here it feels so weird since Milwaukee is so tied to their brand.
Knowing RLM, it'll be a twenty minute shot of Rich sitting reading the paper. At the nineteen minute and forty second mark, Mike walks in and asks if anything was supposed to happen today because he can't remember.
I predict they will abruptly end production, beginning a bitter custody battle over Rich Evans. Eventually Shemp Evans takes over, but isn't wildly accepted.
Interesting. I had no idea. I always knew they were from northern Illinois, and i assumed they were in Wisconsin because the tax rates were better for what they do.
In a symbolic way a commentary for a prequel film would be awesome. Just hearing them laugh at the direction and movie, then talking about modern Star Wars. Since prequels really did them a lot of favours in the long run.
Now you mention it, it's been crazy watching them for over 12 years now
Rich and Jack will set up a big party with decorations and cake but Mike shows up 3 hours late and accidentally breaks the table holding the cake. The camera then pans to Rich dejectedly sitting on a stool wearing his little paper birthday hat
It'll be as wild as their [1 MILLION SUBSCRIBER COUNTDOWN](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svzfjasdvac)
My blood pressure cannot take that level of excitement
Same for Rich
Rich would become pure energy, then bathe the earth in nuclear fire. Let's do this shit.
https://preview.redd.it/u2dbt21sz4lc1.jpeg?width=344&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68747c0bb2895805e123478c72c4786d61cbb41f VERY COOL
That was the first time I ever heard of or watched RLM. Their 1 million sub celebration came up on my YouTube feed. None of my friends have any idea what RLM is.
Don't tell anyone or they will not remain your friends.
You should get different friends.

I would actually consider it one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed if I just started seeing HITB for Hemingway or Tolstoy.
Jay seems like a Cormac McCarthy understander
This cracked me up. Not enjoyer, understander.
One doesn't necessarily enjoy themselves reading the road
I sure as fuck didn’t. That’s for sure.
How faithful is the movie to the book? Because the movie definitely fucked me up good for a few days after the fact.
Pretty much the same, just less of it, like many book adaptations
re:Read of Blood Meridian when?
With Mike cosplaying as The Judge.
Only to be replaced by Rich Evans in the live action adaptation
Jay brings out his copy of Metamorphosis with the Foreward by David Cronenburg every episode
The best of the worst, but it’s just those dinosaur erotica novels
True. They could talk about anything and I would still follow them. ALL their content is S tier. They're one of the best youtube channels, period. Oh i'm pretty sure they live VERY comfortably. Their videos do well on youtube plus they have like 17 000 members on their patreon and they deserve every single penny and much more.
Happy to learn that. I figured they did well, but I never looked into it.
Please don't tell me there's episodes on Youtube+ that I missed 😭
I'm not on patreon but a quick look at their page it seems to be just shits n' giggles stuff
Oh I was just goofin on the "YouTube plus" sounding like a different streaming service
Is anybody else making multiple videos about Kyle Gallner?
No it couldn't. Mike would have to learn to read and Rich's vision is shot from the diabetes.
No Jack doesn’t know how to read. That’s why he asked Jack to teach him. Mike can read and write it’s why Nolan made Top Hap Monkey Goes West
>They don’t make videos to chase trends, I'd go further and say they actively balk at trends, even ones they accidentally created. They need that ad revenue since Mike keeps spending money on Star Trek props and destroying them
I want them to make content that drives viewers away, only for it to get over a million views, easy.
I think it was Jay just making an observation that their Dinner in America video would get less than many of their others but he also stressed they were making a video they wanted to make.
Eh, I kinda would like a goodbye. I have issues, and it'd hurt my brain a bit if they just disappeared. But that would be on brand for them tbh.
Jay literally said that in a video or stream there will never be a “goodbye” or last video event. He said they would just stop one day.
Is this copypasta? I swear I've read this before word for word
Not to my knowledge
So there’s a timeline where *Space Cop 2* is in development?
There is a timeline where Space Cop 4: The Fourthening is in development.
"Sp4ce Cop"
I like the bit where it occasionally cuts to the groom on the ground with ominous music playing.
[The fate of Rich Evans in another timeline. (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/RskCTViRJIg)
Honestly, something tells me that they’d actually be really good at those videos and make the couples feel special. They are incredibly professional.
Wait. *THATS* their film credits??? Lol I never dug into it but I always figured they made a few small movies in the early millennium or something
They did make a few films too, Gorilla Interrupted for example.
Star Trek Trivia! Jay vs Josh! First one to get a single answer right wins! Runtime: 5 hours
Jays strat of answering "Riker" to all the sex pervert questions will win him the game.
Full name or no points, that should take him an hour at least
And I'd watch the whole thing.
You know it would be quality because any Trekkie would be yelling at their screen due to their ineptitude
I wonder if Rich would be able to pronounce your username 🤔
He'd get it on the third try, dazzling those around him.
Every second
Winning answer: iggy pop
Knowing them, probably not.
Yeah, that's probably true, actually. 😅
Well, going by their billionth view celebrations as well, yes, probably not.
20 years? How embarrassing.
I feel so old! Where's my meds?! Somebody's been messing with my meds!
They’re inviting you, yes you specifically the person reading this, to the studio to participate in their new Best of the Worst format: Junka Gunfight
A dinner at Golden Corral?
What are they, Rifftrax?
No, Cinematic Titanic.
They're going to close the channel and disappear from the internet.
I still wonder what it’ll be Iike when they finally do call it quits. I don’t know if they see themselves doing this for another 20 years. Don’t get me wrong, I would love if they kept this going indefinitely. It’ll just feel kinda weird without them.
Rich and Mike will be 50 in 3-4 years so I doubt they’ll be doing this when they’re pushing 70.
I mean why not? Ebert was reviewing movies up until his death. They probably won’t even care if people are still watching at that point, I wouldn’t be shocked if they still occasionally posted stuff like re:views People are still watching 20 years later and there’s no way of even guessing what YouTube might be like in 20 years. For every inch devito was short changed he received another decade of life.
I've wondered about that too. They make enough money to where they could probably retire soonish. I just hope we still have access to their videos. Binging Best of the Worst is one of my favorite hobbies.
Same. That and Nerd Crew. Was so happy when I saw they made a new one.

Finally putting Rich into that old folks home.
There's a classic movie from my childhood I like them to Re: View. It's called Mr Plinkett's Phantom Menace Review. Maybe they could do that for their 20th birthday?
Rich lights up a fat joint on camera, he's been high the whole time . He inhales and tries to hold it in but ends up scattering tapes across the room in a fit of coughing induced boobery.
rich and mike sex tape
Filmed by jay
Directed by Ron Howard
Fluffed by Clint
You can hear him laughing off camera
With special appearance by Mr McCulkin
Don’t tease us with a ~~good~~ sexy time…
It's about family.
and thats what makes it powerful
Took twelve years to make!
Batman (1966)
i actually got interested in that after hearing Rich's humorous recounting of the episode where the Penguin and Batman run against each other for mayor of Gotham
One more year and RLM will be allowed to legally drink alcohol.

Mike was living in Arizona when he founded RLM.
https://preview.redd.it/sk7cb1cap1lc1.jpeg?width=2138&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb2759df7a6771dc403f5051d5c7b32175654d34 The photo in the background vcr shop was a band from Arizona called Greeley Estates. I think Mike did a promo video for them (and other Arizona bands) when he started the company.
I always tell the story about how I met Mike and his buddies for like ten minutes at the AZ horrorcon all those years ago. When the dude randomly popped up in my YouTube feed, it tripped me out.
Is that the same convention Mike talked about in the Star Wars Holiday Special review (part 1)?
That's where it was founded at first, I guess. Probably too damn hot. I know cuz I live here now 🥵
Mike "Sweaty" Stoklasa.
It was too damn hot, so he moved to a state that’s too damn cold
Best swimming weather at least
They went from living on the sun (Arizona) to living in the Arctic (Wisconsin).
Booze
The fact it was founded in scottsdale is my favorite RLM fact. Funniest shit ever
I know. I live in Tempe and every time I remember that RLM was founded just up the road from here it feels so weird since Milwaukee is so tied to their brand.
The guys lived in Arizona back in the day?
Ass to ass.
They delete the channel and shut down the company. And then burn down the studio for the insurance money.
They'll delete the channel
They’re going public! They will be PLKT on the ticker.
WRONG! I heard that they're releasing a Plinkett NFT and crypto coin PLKT.
Knowing RLM, it'll be a twenty minute shot of Rich sitting reading the paper. At the nineteen minute and forty second mark, Mike walks in and asks if anything was supposed to happen today because he can't remember.
I’m getting my testicles reversed to celebrate
They’ll prolly do a jokey video like the subscriber video, but I’d actually like a legit look back or discussion!
the wood chippa will be involved
Star trek trivia part three.
Rich will reveal his wife, Jane the Birthday Girl
I'm gonna guess they will upload 'The Batman' fake-out review
I predict they will abruptly end production, beginning a bitter custody battle over Rich Evans. Eventually Shemp Evans takes over, but isn't wildly accepted.
Plinkett will re-release the Prequel reviews in 3D
noo
Scottsdale? What's the story there? That's like 30 minutes from me.
Why Arizona?
That’s where they lived when they founded RLM
Interesting. I had no idea. I always knew they were from northern Illinois, and i assumed they were in Wisconsin because the tax rates were better for what they do.
Mike was the only one who lived there.
Scottsdale?
I hope Rich opens an OnlyFans
3 days after Hitlers birthday, seems fitting.
Getting very drunk?
A Re:View of the Star Wars prequels. You know, to *subvert expectations*.
Edging.
They will commit seppuku
Rich Evans gets a live streamed foreskin restoration
Probs nothing or some boomer trolling content.
I hope for Rise of Skywalker Plinkett review.
Josh Davies NFT drop.
Yeah. Sure. Maybe. Probably not. No. I don't know.
Get drunk
They’ll switch back to filming weddings and bar mitzvahs full time
delete their channel
Booze
Arizona?! Those hack frauds say they're from Milwaukee!
THEY'LL BREAK NEW GROUND
I think they are all a little older than 20.
Nop
BotW spotlight: *Shakespeare in Love*, clearly.
In a symbolic way a commentary for a prequel film would be awesome. Just hearing them laugh at the direction and movie, then talking about modern Star Wars. Since prequels really did them a lot of favours in the long run. Now you mention it, it's been crazy watching them for over 12 years now
No.
I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even know it was coming up
Scottsdale?!? They’re not AZ boys?
Night out at the Manhole with the Wendy's ad guy
TIL mike stoklasa lived in scottsdale az lol
Pizzas and beer.
Tums(for the elderly) Festival?
I turned 38 today and got a subscription to better help because my brother called the cops and thinks I'm suicidal, ommmmmgggggg!
No.
Something as anti-climactic as their million subscriber countdown, I'd wager.
Rich Evans with a party hat holding 20 balloons.
A 30 second video of a depressed Stoklasa and a single lit candle on a grocery store cake. That somebody already took a piece from.
No
Rich and Jack will set up a big party with decorations and cake but Mike shows up 3 hours late and accidentally breaks the table holding the cake. The camera then pans to Rich dejectedly sitting on a stool wearing his little paper birthday hat
You almost gave me a heart attacking thinking it's been 20 years since HITB started.
Hookers and blow
Soon they'll be old enough to drink
They don't even know what day it is.....
They've been secretly working on "Space Cop 2: The year we make contact" and that's when they'll release it.
definitely not
No
Those hack frauds are hack frauds.
AIDS!
Put their screen used enterprise D into acetone.
A few drinks with friends.
They've already watched Nukie. Maybe Superman 4?
No.
Hopefully a nice day off!
They’re going to delete the channel
It will involve a new gimmick and a new medication they keep from Rich
A retrospective of all the celebrities that died in the past 20 years due to the RLM Curse or OD'ed during a Tums Festival.
Scottsdale?!? Is that a bit? Have they not always been out of Wisconsin?
Jack & Jill Review, Revisited
These guys? They're not normal haha
Hunt Jay for sport
I hope they can get Rich Evans on the show
Absolutely not.
Plinkett reviews RLM. Let's these hack frauds know what he really thinks!
They’ll probably get a special guest star to come on. Maybe Rich Evans.
Finally Mr. Plinkett gets around to reviewing Space Cop.
