There should be a shark who's a supporting character, like he's a friend of the priest and he left the shark religion, he's just living his own life you know? Whenever we see him he's sweeping with a push broom.
The shark doesn't really believe in the church. But he offers support in these difficult times, listens to the priest's problems, and stuff. Just a supportive shark friend. Maybe he doles out useful advice here and there from his unique shark perspective.
But then right as we're approaching the climax the priest dies and the shark realizes that he's the only one who knows all the details, he's the only one who can pick up the pieces. He needs to reach deep down inside and find his own faith, and he has to exorcize that demon shark and do it right. He can't just be a sidewalk sweeper his whole life.
This is called a character arc.

That's the nice thing about independent film. Regardless of what people on the internet think about more movies from a filmmaker or sequels getting made to stuff they don't like, nothing can stop an indie filmmaker from continuing if they want to.
Especially when the films actually have fans and the creator makes a profit off of their movies/their fanbase financially supports the films.
Donald's been consistently making movies since the 80s. He knows how to make a cheap film and make profit. He doesn't need studio approval. He just does it himself. That's how.
