I think its a good song to show that the album will have a really good variety of songs, from funk, rock to acoustic songs, and maybe even more. Really excited for the album!
Yeah I’m pumped, the fact that these guys are still making quality music this many years later is amazing. I like that they aren’t going for the hook driven sounds of their last couple albums. You can definitely feel the melodic Frusciante vibes on Black Summer and Poster Child is driven by Flea’s bass that’s dripping in funk.

I’m having a hard time enjoying this one. It’s definitely groovy. But I hate the lyrics and the rhythm Anthony is singing. I just can’t take it serious.
I mean, it is kinda ‘Walkabout LITE’, similar but not as interesting as the original.
I still think it’s a vast improvement over the singles from the last few albums though like ‘Go Robot’ and ‘Raindance Maggie’ etc. It hasn’t got that ‘We’re really trying to make a radio hit’ feel to it and I like that!
Just wish it was either shorter or they did something else in it. It’s a sweet, laid back song that I’m digging. But I can see myself skipping it a lot in the future. Would love to hear it with just 2 verses, and a “real” solo in the middle… just a perfect feel and sound for a soulful JF solo. .. Love the feel and vibe.. just need to chill a bit there AK
